Longhorns women's basketball releases SEC schedule Longhorns women's basketball reveals SEC slate
With the women's college basketball season quickly approaching, expectations are high for the Texas Longhorns. After making it to the Final Four last season, they are in a great position to build on their success. Earlier this week, they were able to start planning for the season when their conference schedule was revealed.
During the 2025-2026 campaign, Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and LSU will all take a trip to Moody Center. The Longhorns will play eight games on the road and eight at home against SEC teams. This is the 17th season of the 16-game schedule for women's basketball.
For the Longhorns, their home court has been where they thrived. Last season, Texas went 17-0 at home. At the Mooddy Center, Longhorns women's basketball has posted a 49-5 record. With a roster full of stars, that record should continue to improve.
While the Longhorns have plenty to look forward to at home, they also have an exciting away conference schedule. They will go on the road to face LSU, Florida, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Arkansas. That should be a good test for a team that has national championship aspirations.
The regular season will wrap up with the 2026 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament at Bon Secours Wellness Arena. It is set to include all 16 teams and begin on March 4. On March 8, a new champion will be crowned, and the Longhorns hope it is them.
When the regular season begins, Texas will be led by Madison Booker and Rori Harmon. If they can once again make the most of their conference schedule, then they will have a memorable 2025-2026 campaign.

Archie Manning makes bold Arch Manning declaration for 2026 NFL Draft

The post Archie Manning makes bold Arch Manning declaration for 2026 NFL Draft appeared first on ClutchPoints. Arch Manning has already been with the Texas football team for two years, but the 2025 season will be his first as the full-time starter. That means that Manning will be eligible for the 2026 NFL Draft. He is expected to be one of the best players in college football, and he has always had a tremendous amount of talent. A lot of people expect him to be one of the top QBs in next year's NFL Draft. Arch's grandpa, Archie Manning, expects him to stay with the Longhorns, however. Quarterbacks of Arch Manning's caliber typically do leave college to go pro after their junior year. However, most of them also earn the starting job before their junior year. Manning has some valuable experience and he has started some games, but this is his first year truly running the show. Archie Manning seems confident that Arch will want to run it back for his senior year before he is ready for the NFL Draft. 'Arch isn't going to do that,' Archie Manning said, according to Texas Monthly. 'He'll be at Texas.' If Manning wants to, he will more than likely have the chance to enter the 2026 NFL Draft after this season. The hype surrounding him has been incredibly loud since before he arrived at Texas, and he would've been the starting QB for 99% of college football programs last year. The talent is there, but it will still be interesting to see how he handles full-time starting duties. Arch Manning and the Texas football team are starting off the 2025 season with a bang as the Longhorns will hit the road to take on Ohio State. Manning's first game as the true QB1 for Texas, and it's on the road against the defending national champions. That game is going to be far from easy, and we will learn a lot about where Manning is at. That is going to be must-watch television. Arch Manning, Texas football ranked No. 1 in preseason AP Poll

The post Arch Manning, Texas football ranked No. 1 in preseason AP Poll appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Texas football program is currently preparing for the upcoming 2025 college football season, in which they will try to hoist their first national championship trophy in the modern era. Texas will be led by quarterback Arch Manning, who played some last year but now is the full time starter after the departure of Quinn Ewers. On Monday, the season's first AP Poll came out, and the Longhorns were sitting atop the college football world according to the organization, being ranked number one overall in the nation (per On3 Sports on X, formerly Twitter). Behind Texas were the Penn State Nittany Lions, followed by the reigning national champion Ohio State Buckeyes, and then the Clemson Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs. Last year, it was Ohio State that did Texas in during the playoff en route to their championship victory, but the Longhorns are returning a good chunk of their talent from a season ago and have a Heisman trophy contender in Manning under center. Manning of course is the nephew of NFL Hall of Famers Peyton and Eli Manning and showcased the talent that made him one of the most sought-after quarterback prospects in the nation during his brief time playing for Texas last year, including some great running ability that he clearly did not inheret from his uncles as well as improved downfield accuracy from his days as a high school quarterback. Overall, Texas figures to have one of the deepest rosters in the college football landscape, and are looking to finally break through and win a national title after two straight seasons exiting in the football equivalent of the Final Four. In any case, the Texas football program will have an immediate test to open up their 2025 season with a road game against the reigning champion Ohio State Buckeyes in a rematch of last year's playoff matchup. That game is slated for 12:00 PM ET on August 30. Related: LSU DC hypes up defense with 'most fun' declaration Related: Oregon football 5-star recruit suffers broken leg during fall camp

College Football Fans Hoping Paul Finebaum's Promise Comes True

College Football Fans Hoping Paul Finebaum's Promise Comes True originally appeared on The Spun. ESPN's Paul Finebaum may have just wrote a check he can't cash. A few days ago, Finebaum appeared on the "Netflix Sports Club Podcast." As you'd imagine, he talked about the 2025 college football season. During his conversation with Dani Klupenger, the longtime radio personality was asked if an SEC team will win the national championship this season. Finebaum didn't just say the SEC would win the national title, he said he'd leave the United States if a program from his favorite conference fails to win it all. "It is," Finebaum replied. "And by the way, if it's not, I'm leaving the country because I am so sick and tired of being harassed by Big Ten fans on our show." Finebaum vented about the Big Ten for a few seconds before revealing his pick to win it all. As of now, he's riding with the Texas Longhorns. "The Big Ten has literally done nothing. They've won two national championships. Michigan won one two years ago. They've won one and a half national championships, I think, and before that, in 70 years. And they act like they invented football," Finebaum said, via Awful Announcing. "Alabama has won about 15 national championships in my lifetime. Now, I realize that's not a good comparison to a realistic lifespan. But, I believe Texas is going to win; I didn't mean to avoid your question. It's going to end all this. And on January 20, I'll be the happiest man in America because I won't have to listen to the Big Tenners, or as my callers call them, the Little Tenners." The College Football Playoff is several months away, but fans can't wait for it to begin because of Finebaum's promise. His critics would love to see him leave the national spotlight for good. "Someone from the Big Ten plz pull it off so we can get rid of this idiot," one fan wrote on X. "When you make statements like that, you are setting yourself up for extreme scrutiny," a second fan commented. "We can only hope he'll actually leave. There's zero reason anyone should care what that man says about football," another fan said. "Hope Buckeyes take it Maybe Penn State or Michigan. If so. I'll start a go fund me for your airfare," a social media user wrote. Luckily for Finebaum, he just needs any team in the SEC to win in order to stick around. Texas, Georgia, Alabama and LSU are all expected to be top-10 teams this season. Of course, only time will tell if Finebaum eats his own words.
