Driver named Patches Magickbeans high on mushrooms in crash that nearly killed construction worker: cops
A Wisconsin man named Patches Magickbeans seriously injured a worker when he crashed his van into a piece of construction equipment while allegedly high on magic mushrooms, cops said.
Patches Magickbeans, 34, of Wisconsin, was 'swerving and weaving' on Highway 61 in Silver Creek, Minn. around 3:50 p.m. on June 19 when his van hit a curb and several traffic cones before barreling into a scissor lift which was being used by a pair of construction workers fixing a light.
Patches Magickbeans was charged with two counts of criminal vehicular operation and one count of controlled substance crime in the 2nd degree.

The vehicle then smashed into the wall of the Lafayette Tunnel and rolled several times before coming to a stop, court documents state.

Benjamin Kidd, 27, one of the workers atop the scissor lift during the crash, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remains in critical condition, local outlet Northern News Now reported.
Another worker using the lift, Bradley Kostiuk, 37, told cops he heard the sound of Magickbeans' van hitting the cones just in time to see the vehicle racing toward them. He quickly grabbed the lift's rail system to pull himself up and managed to hang on to the light fixture for dear life until police helped him down.
Cops at the scene said Magickbeans appeared to be intoxicated after the crash, and that he was babbling incoherently and possibly hallucinating, grasping at objects in the air that were not actually there.

Court documents said his eyes were 'blown' and noted he 'became combative with rescue workers' attempting to get him out of the van.
They later found psilocybin mushrooms in his car, which Magickbeans initially claimed he had foraged but later changed his story and admitted they were magic mushrooms. He allegedly said he 'had a small one the day before along with an edible,' though he insisted his blood test would come back negative for drugs.
Magickbeans describes himself on Instagram as 'womb wisdom keeper.'

Results of a blood test are still pending, the outlet said.

Magickbeans was charged with two counts of criminal vehicular operation and one count of controlled substance crime in the 2nd degree.
He's being held at Lake County Jail on $75,000 bail, with his next court appearance scheduled for August.
Magickbeans' Instagram page, where he describes himself as 'womb wisdom keeper,' features an image of him on the cover of the Brainerd Dispatch newspaper last July under the headline 'corn juggler' — a caption describing him as a 'fruit vendor' who juggles ears of corn from his roadside stand to 'catch attention of motorists on the roadway.'

Teacher's husband discovers her sex acts with 14-year-old student, FL cops say
A man found out his wife — a middle school teacher — was engaging in sex acts with a 14-year-old student and threatened to report her, Florida news outlets reported from court documents. Now, 32-year-old Sarah Jacas is charged with statutory rape by an authority figure, two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation and two counts of lewd or lascivious battery, according to Orange County records. The Corner Lake Middle School directory shows Jacas taught math at the Orlando school. The school district did not respond to a June 26 request for comment. Investigators said the student came forward to report Jacas had sexually abused him when he was 14 during the 2022-23 school year, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by WESH. The teen used to eat lunch in the teacher's classroom because he struggled socially, WESH reported, and deputies said the teacher began taking advantage of him. The student said Jacas sexually abused him multiple times, including in her classroom during lunch, WOFL reported from law enforcement. The teacher's husband found out about her sex acts with the teen and threatened to report her, and the boy's parents also discovered their text messages, deputies said, according to WOFL. Investigators said Jacas moved their conversation to Instagram, where she texted the teen in strings of numbers that stood for affectionate messages, WKMG reported. The teen said 115 meant 'I miss you,' and 520 meant 'I love you,' according to the affidavit obtained by WKMG. Records show she was arrested by the Orange County Sheriff's Office on June 23 and posted bond two days later. The middle school's principal, Paul Browning, sent a message notifying students' families of 'allegations of misconduct' from two years ago, according to WKMG. 'Although I cannot discuss employee matters, please know this person will not be returning to campus pending the outcome of the investigation,' he wrote in the message obtained by WKMG.
