Jaipur: The Special Operations Group (SOG) Thursday arrested three relatives of the arrested govt teacher Kundan Kumar Pandya for allegedly receiving and using leaked question papers to clear the written exam.
ADG (SOG) V.K. Singh said that the accused—Riddhi Pandya (daughter), and Naitik and Neha Pandya (niece and nephew)—were arrested after it was revealed during the probe that Kundan Pandya passed on leaked question papers to them. All three cleared the written exam but failed the physical test, resulting in their disqualification.
Riddhi scored 303 out of 500 in the written exam, Naitik scored 290, and Neha's written score was 313.
"Even with the leaked question paper, the three accused forgot answers to some of the questions," said an official.
Pandya, who was arrested on June 5 along with two others, allegedly obtained the leaked papers from former RPSC member Babulal Katara, who is already under arrest. The investigation revealed that Katara procured all three sets of the SI exam question papers nearly 35 days before the examination and handed them to his nephew Vijay Kumar Damor, who copied them into a notebook.
The same notebook was later passed on to Kundan Pandya.
Pandya, wanting a "secure future" for his daughter and other family members, allegedly instructed them to apply for the SI exam. He then gave them the leaked papers and asked them to memorise the answers. "All three scored exceptionally well in the written exam," Singh said, "but they failed to meet the physical eligibility criteria."
Earlier, the SOG arrested Katara's nephew Damor, who reportedly copied all three sets of question papers by hand at Katara's govt residence in Ajmer.
Singh added that Pandya's brother, Lokendra, father of two of the arrested accused, will also be summoned for questioning.

Jaipur: The Special Operations Group (SOG) on Thursday arrested Mahendra Gehlot, a close aide of notorious paper leak mastermind Uda Ram Vishnoi, for his alleged role in the Junior Engineer Recruitment Exam 2020 leak. According to officials, before the exam was conducted, Uda Ram and Gehlot conspired to provide the leaked question paper to select candidates in exchange for Rs 12 lakh each.
Uda Ram allegedly sent the paper to Gehlot over WhatsApp ahead of the exam.
Gehlot, in turn, distributed the paper to multiple candidates who agreed to pay the bribe. "The accused were part of a well-organised racket that promised guaranteed selection through leaked papers in exchange for large sums of money," said an SOG official. Investigators suspect that several candidates benefited from the leak and are now under the scanner.

2 women get 12-year rigorous imprisonment for heroin possession
Ludhiana: A local court sentenced two women drug peddlers, who are siblings, to 12-year rigorous imprisonment each for possession of around 1kg heroin. Special court judge Harvinder Singh also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh each on the two convicts. In default of payment of the fine, they will have to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for one year. On July 6, 2020, STF Phase Four, Mohali, police station booked Kiran Bala of Chuharpur, now a tenant at Mohalla Durgapuri, and Suman Bala of the same area, under the NDPS Act for possession of the contraband. As per the prosecution, on that date, SI Gurcharan Singh and a police party at Jassian Road area of Haibowal, received information that the sisters were to supply heroin to a customer from their house in Durgapuri. Later, the police party apprehended the duo riding a scooter driven by Kiran Bala. Upon checking, a large black polythene bag containing heroin was recovered. Police filed a case and arrested them. During trial, the accused pleaded false implication and stated that nothing was recovered from them. The court didn't find force in the submission of the defence counsel and held, "It is now settled law that the testimony of police officials is as good as that of independent witnesses. The statements of police officials cannot be discarded merely because of the colour of their office. Whenever the case of the prosecution is based only on the statements of police officials, the only precaution for the court is to scrutinise their testimony with some more care and caution. " The court also turned down the submission of the accused about false implication in the case. The court observed that in view of the law laid down by the Supreme Court in the aforesaid case and in view of the facts, possession of the accused is fully proved on record, and they failed to give a satisfactory explanation for that. Two-wheelers are top traffic offenders in city; over 30 lakh challans issued in 2024
Mumbai: Two-wheeler riders were the biggest traffic offenders in the city in 2024. Over 30 lakh challans were issued to two-wheelers for various violations, with cars coming a distant second (9.2 lakh challans), police data shows. Public transport drivers did slightly better. Autorickshaw drivers were given 7.6 lakh challans, kaali-peeli taxi drivers 2.4 lakh and public bus drivers around 46,000. Experts said two-wheeler numbers are exploding in the city. Out of 50 lakh vehicles in the city, 30 lakh are two-wheelers. "We often find motorcyclists jumping signals, riding in the wrong direction and cutting lanes. In a few instances they have rammed into our personnel while trying to evade legal action," said a senior police official. "We work with the authorities to identify illegal autos and unscrupulous drivers plying without uniforms and badges," said Rao. Union leader Thampy Kurien had a different take on why the number of challans for 'refusing to ply' were high. "In many instances, traffic cops threaten to fine auto drivers Rs 500 for 'illegal parking' when the driver is inside the vehicle waiting for a passenger. After the driver's pleas, the policeman reduces the charge to 'refusal' and fines the driver Rs 50." Transporters demanded that enforcement through phones should be stopped and the use of surveillance cameras or sensor-based enforcement should be mandated. Police data shows 68% of total challans issued by the department in 2024 remained unpaid with dues reaching a staggering Rs 382 crore in fines.
