This Morning host Rochelle Humes has shared her happiness after ITV bosses made a long-standing rule change. Former Saturdays singer Humes is one of the daytime series' rotating list of presenters alongside Ben Shephard, Cat Deeley, Dermot O'Leary, Alison Hammond, Sian Welby and Craig Doyle. Humes has revealed that all the hosts have been following a dress code that has been closely monitored since her first appearance alongside her husband, the JLS star Marvin Humes, in August 2013. It turns out that bosses have always instructed This Morning hosts to opt for smartwear, meaning jeans is an item of clothing that has been off the table – however, all that's changed, with denim trousers now permitted. Humes, 35, wasted no time in utilising the rule change, opting for a pair of River Island jean in Wednesday's episode (28 May). She announced the news on TikTok, stating: 'There's a new rule. We didn't used to be allowed to wear jeans, did we? But we can wear jeans now. This is amazing news for me.' The Independent has contacted ITV for comment. Humes' revelation arrives amid a huge shakeup for the channel's morning schedule. Last week, it was revealed that ITV is shortening Lorraine Kelly's hour-long show Lorraine by half and will reallocate those 30 minutes to Good Morning Britain instead, as part of a cost-cutting drive. This Morning will be unaffected by the scheduling changes, remaining in its usual time slot of 10am to 12.30pm. A source close to ITV told MailOnline: 'We were very open about the challenges in the industry and so several options were discussed – the key was ensuring Lorraine was retained and was as comfortable as possible in a changing landscape. 'Her show is still hugely valued – the show recently had its highest audience share in four years and still reaches 2.7 million people.' Earlier this month, part-time This Morning host Sian Welby admitted she was scared she would lose her stint if she told them she was pregnant before she started. The mother of one, 38, welcomed her nine-month-old daughter Ruby with her fiancé, Heart Breakfast producer Jake Beckett, last June. Welby was 20 weeks pregnant when she started co-hosting This Morning alongside O'Leary and kept her pregnancy a secret because she felt she had 'something to prove'. Speaking on Giovanna Fletcher's Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, Welby said: 'When you first start a job, you think 'Nobody knows what I'm actually like, that I'm trustworthy' and you have to prove yourself. 'I felt like I had proven myself, that I can do this and that. When I got that first This Morning cover with Dermot, I knew I was pregnant but I didn't tell anyone.' She said: 'In the back of my mind, I was thinking 'If I tell them I'm pregnant, will this put them off getting me in again?' And will they think 'Oh she's gonna be off for ages?''

Sian made her debut as a co-presenter on This Morning last year. Since then she has been a stand-in host and presented a range of different segments on the show. She juggles her TV work alongside her radio career, where she currently presents on Capital Radio with Jordan North and Chris Stark. She has previously appeared on Heart FM and on Channel 5 as a radio presenter. Sian went viral in 2015 with a pun-filled weather forecast to mark the 35th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Now on the Turning Points podcast with Scottish singer Lulu, Sian has addressed her future in television. Her candid words were: "I can openly say that I really want something in television that is mine, that I can own, whether it's a chat show or, maybe this comes to the SMTV thing, the Cat Deeley situation, I would love to maybe be able to be the host of something. "I had to process that and go, 'It wasn't mine to have'. And I had a lot of those moments and I was like, 'When is it my turn?'" The 38-year-old recalls watching Cat star in SMTV: Live alongside Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly. In an interview with Boots, Shoes and Fashion, she recounted, "I had had this new idea of becoming a presenter as a few mates had likened me to Cat Deely who at the time was a bit of an idol. "Mainly because she wasn't afraid to laugh at herself and be silly. So I literally googled 'how to be a presenter' and a website called came up. Once I had joined that I uploaded a pic, wrote a quick bio and to my surprise instantly got an audition." Sian weighed the option of maintaining her retail position while exploring presenting opportunities for nearly half a decade. Her persistence paid off when she secured a role in a New! Magazine advertisement, which paved the way for her Channel 5 opportunity. She said, "I'm very close to my dad. He's very funny, he is very sharp, so it's scary to think I was going to lose that because it's him, you know? "That's what's so cruel about it, that you won't wish on anyone. You're gonna lose the person. They're physically going to be there, but gradually, bit by bit, you're losing them. That was just horrible to imagine." She went on: "I'm very lucky - and I will say it out loud - I'm lucky that my dad seems to have reached a very stable stage where he's not particularly getting worse, he's having good days and bad days, but he still knows who I am, he knows I have a baby, he doesn't know her name, that doesn't bother me, but he always remembers that I've got a baby." Sian has been candid about her father's health struggles in recent years, including his battle with Covid-19 in 2022 following a cancer diagnosis, during which he lost six stone in just a fortnight. In an interview last year, the Capital radio host shared with OK!: "Thankfully, he won the fight. But it was awful. I don't know how he didn't die. There were some real low moments.
