Vicky Pattison shares fears over 'Strictly curse' rumours as she names dream partner

Vicky Pattison, who will appear on the 2025 series of Strictly Come Dancing alongside Dani Dyer and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, was asked if she had her "eyes" on any potential dance partners
Vicky Pattison has named her dream dance partner as she shared her fears about falling victim to the so-called Strictly "curse". In a recent chat with co-host Angela Scanlon on the Get A Grip podcast, the Geordie Shore star admitted that she was "scared" as she gears up for her upcoming appearance on the hugely popular BBC dance competition.

Vicky, a former I'm A Celeb winner, is just one of 15 stars to be announced for the 2025 series. Some of the famous names include Love Island's Dani Dyer and football legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

As she shared details about her preparations, Vicky was asked if she had her "eyes" on any potential dance partners, and it seems that she's keen to avoid the show's reported "curse".

It refers to an unusual phenomenon whereby contestants enter the show with strong relationships away from the dancefloor, only for them to end - seemingly due to their participation.
She said: 'No, so obviously I'm newly married, and the press are just, like, wild, aren't they? I feel like the whole, like, chemistry between couples can easily be, like, misrepresented.'
She added: 'For that side of things, I would absolutely really love a gay partner, just because I don't want any of the rumours. But, like, you can't go around requesting things like that.'
Vicky said she loves Johannes Radebe, to which Angela wholeheartedly agreed. However, her co-host shut down any prospect of the two being paired up as she claimed he was "too tall" for Vicky.
Vicky replied that she'd been told this previously, as Angela, who appeared alongside Strictly pro Carlos Gu in the 2023 series, admitted that she'd "kinda" had her eyes on him for a partner.

In response, a laughing Vicky dubbed Johannes a "popular fella" and noted that she might not be "waif-like" enough for Carlos.
The 'curse' has reportedly led to upheavals in the personal lives of contestants and dancers alike, occasionally resulting in new relationships — such as Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg, and Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton.

Meanwhile, Vicky married The Only Way Is Essex 's Ercan Ramadan last year, after being in a relationship with him since 2019. Ercan proposed to the reality star in 2022 while they were in Dubai.
On August 24 last year, they tied the knot in Marylebone Town Hall in London, later travelling to Puglia, Italy, for another wedding at Castle Elvira. At the time, Vicky took to Instagram, saying: "I have honestly never felt happiness like it - the most special day of our lives."
Speaking to OK! about the couple's potential baby plans, she revealed that they intended to "enjoy being married" for "at least a year" before she opened up about their sleeping arrangements.
She said: "I'd love a honeymoon first! A little week in the Caribbean would be lovely. We're just desperate to sleep in the same bed together. I sleep with the dogs [they have two] and he sleeps in the spare room!"

Antiques Roadshow guest bites lip at impressive value for 'one-off' signed Vinnie Jones photo

An Antiques Roadshow guest shared a 'one-off' photograph of footballer Vinnie Jones and Newcastle United star Paul Gascoigne. WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Antiques Roadshow. ‌ An Antiques Roadshow guest and former referee quipped he would have booked Vinnie Jones for "ungentlemanly conduct" after revealing a "one-off" football photograph. ‌ The BBC daytime programme visited Wollaton Hall where expert Raj Bisram encountered a guest eager to display a memorable image from the football world. ‌ The autographed black and white snap featured Wimbledon player Vinnie Jones grasping Newcastle United legend Paul Gascoigne's testicles during a 1988 fixture. "What an iconic photograph you've brought in," the Roadshow expert declared. The guest revealed: "I was the referee at that match. It was on my birthday, funnily enough. "And it was a first division match between Wimble don and Newcastle United." ‌ The guest then admitted: "I have to admit, I did not see that incident." Bisram observed: "I mean, if you had seen that incident, obviously, you would have booked Vinnie Jones? For what?". The visitor chuckled in reply: "Well I suppose it would be for ungentlemanly conduct." ‌ He added: "Monty Fresco of the Daily Mirror took that fantastic photograph. "When I retired from work, my colleagues, unbeknown to me, got Jones and Gascoigne to sign it for me." ‌ In the left-hand corner, Jones simply wrote to the guest "Be good", while Gascoigne jokingly penned: "Thanks to you, I have lost my family allowance." Wrapping up the appraisal, Bisram revealed: "I guess if you was to put this on the market today, I would be estimating it would be for between £1,000 and £3,000." The guest was left speechless, his jaw dropping at the staggering figures as he bit his lip in anticipation. Bisram added: "I mean, it could go anywhere because it's a one-off. This is one of the most famous photographs of football in history. Thanks for bringing it in."
