The teaser, promising an emotional farewell, opens to show the gang getting ready for one last time. 'After what we've been through, this thing, it ties us together forever,' says Jonathan Byers, as Hawkins' favourite heroes, still reeling from the events of the fourth season, brave a difficult fight against the monstrous Vecna. With the gate to the Upside Down now torn open, and Vecna at its most angry state, it's a do-or-die for Eleven and co.
The official snynopsis of the fifth season reads, 'The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will's disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they've faced before. To end this nightmare, they'll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.'
The final season of the series features familiar faces and new, including Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair), Brett Gelman (Murray), Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna), Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler), Amybeth McNulty (Vickie), Nell Fisher (Holly Wheeler), Jake Connelly (Derek Turnbow), Alex Breaux (Lt. Akers), and Linda Hamilton (Dr. Kay)
The final season will consist of eight episodes total: 'The Crawl,' 'The Vanishing of _____,' 'The Turnbow Trap,' 'Sorcerer,' 'Shock Jock,' 'Escape From Camazotz,' 'The Bridge,' and 'The Rightside Up.' The second title remains redacted, fueling speculation about who or what disappears.
Created by The Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things is produced by Upside Down Pictures and 21 Laps Entertainment. The Duffers also serve as executive producers, alongside Shawn Levy of 21 Laps Entertainment and Dan Cohen.
Although this marks the end of the main series, the Stranger Things universe will continue to expand. Fans can also look forward to Stranger Things: The First Shadow, a stage production in London's West End, and an untitled animated spinoff series.
Since its debut in 2016, Stranger Things has become a cultural phenomenon, with its fourth season alone garnering 140 million views globally.

Netflix to release decade-old K-drama that got its lead actor banned after massive popularity sparked messy court battle
Netflix has reportedly secured the rights to re-release Park Shin Yang and Kim Ok Vin's 2007 SBS K-drama that smashed records for the network at the time. Based on a webtoon, the series earned legendary status as one of the earliest to throw a spotlight on South Korea's brutal loan shark culture. Originally set for a shorter run, it was extended from May 16 to July 19 due to overwhelming fan demand. If you haven't caught on yet, keep reading. According to a Nate News update, the OTT platform is set to drop the K-drama War of Money, also known as Money's Warfare, in a restored high-definition format, almost two decades after its debut. Originally titled Jjeonui Jeonjaeng, the drama pulled in ratings that soared past the 36% mark, a rare feat then and even now. Officially recognised by the Financial Supervisory Service, it left a lasting mark on both the public and the entertainment industry with its unflinching portrayal of Korea's loan shark underworld. It set a benchmark in an industry dominated by soft-tone rom-coms, proving that fierce, gritty themes could bring massive audiences. While it's been streaming around a few domestic OTT platforms, this marks its first-ever global release on Netflix, part of the streamer's plan to expand its K-drama library, owing to the genre's sky-high viewership. While the show was a hit, it somehow led to its star Park Shin Yang, getting banned. When the actor first signed on for the drama, he was paid ₩45 million for each of the first 16 episodes. However, later, the director decided to make 4 more episodes, and by that time, the show had already gone viral, so Park hiked his fee and negotiated for ₩170 million per episode. The producers agreed at first, but later changed their minds, accusing Park of taking advantage. The actor then dragged everyone to court, and the court ruled in his favour. But it was after that that the Corea Drama Production Association (CODA) banned Park from appearing in any dramas made by its members. They claimed his high pay was more than what some production companies earned from broadcasters and said it was damaging to the industry. Fans around the world, about 5,600 of them, signed a petition against the ban. After being off TV for three years, Park was finally allowed to return in 2011. Also read: Netflix's new K-drama facing boycott in South Korea turns global smash hit with 100% Rotten Tomatoes score The story follows Geum Na-ra, an investment banker with one of the highest performance ratings in the game. The chaos sends his mother into shock, she collapses and is rushed to the hospital. Desperate, Na Ra applies for a bank loan, but no one will touch him. His jealous boss sees the opportunity and twists the knife by firing him. Unable to pay the hospital fees, his mother dies. His sister is forced into a salon job, and Na Ra himself has to break up with his girlfriend in exchange for cash from Cha Yeon's disapproving grandmother, Madam Bong. Convinced now that everything bad in his life is happening because of money, Na Ra begins to see it as his greatest enemy, and to beat the enemy, he decides to become one. He soon jumps into the loan shark business, learning the strategies, secrets, and cutthroat philosophies of the trade, eventually locking horns with the top sharks in the business. While the drama also carries romantic threads for the star, its core stays locked on the dark, twisted turns of Na Ra's rise in the underworld.

Saiyaara Song Dhun Makes Spotify Top 100 Global Charts, Marks Second Track From Film To Achieve Feat
Last Updated: Mithoon & Arijit Singh's Dhun from Mohit Suri's Saiyaara enters Spotify Global Top 100, hitting 50M streams and boosting the ₹541 crore blockbuster's success. Mithoon and Arijit Singh's hauntingly beautiful track Dhun from Mohit Suri's blockbuster Saiyaara has officially entered the Spotify Top 100 Global Charts, securing the #97 position. This milestone makes it the second song from the film to achieve such a feat, further cementing Saiyaara's status as both a commercial and musical juggernaut. The track has already garnered nearly 50 million cumulative streams and has also claimed a spot on the Spotify Viral Global 50, underscoring its global resonance. A Proven Creative Partnership The success of Dhun adds another feather to the cap of the celebrated Mithoon–Arijit–Mohit Suri collaboration. The trio has previously delivered some of Bollywood's most cherished melodies, including unforgettable tracks from Aashiqui 2, Ek Villain, Hamari Adhuri Kahani, Malang, and Half Girlfriend. Each project has carried its own distinctive emotional stamp, and Dhun is no exception—combining Mithoon's evocative composition, Arijit's soulful voice, and Suri's cinematic vision. Reflecting on the achievement, Mithoon shared, 'Creating 'Dhun' was a deeply emotional experience, and seeing it connect with listeners worldwide is immensely rewarding. This milestone is a celebration of Indian music's global potential." Arijit Singh echoed the sentiment, saying, 'Collaborating with Mohit Suri and Mithoon again feels like returning to a creative sanctuary. 'Dhun' embodies that magic and it gives me joy to see that it's been well received." For Mohit Suri, the success is a testament to the synergy between story and soundtrack: 'The success of 'Dhun' and 'Saiyaara' is a testament to the power of storytelling and music. I'm thrilled that our efforts are being celebrated on such a grand scale. And with Mithoon around me, it's never a surprise." Saiyaara's Cinematic Triumph Produced by Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara stars newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in lead roles and has emerged as one of the biggest hits of 2025. Its global box office collection has soared past ₹541 crore, making it the second-highest-grossing film of the year. The film's storytelling—combined with a powerhouse soundtrack—has made it a cultural phenomenon, attracting audiences far beyond Indian shores. The accomplishment of Dhun also points to a broader shift in how Bollywood music is being consumed globally. Streaming platforms like Spotify have opened international doors for Indian artists, and tracks like Dhun prove that Hindi cinema's soundscape can resonate universally without losing its authenticity. As Saiyaara continues to run successfully in theatres, it is set for an even wider reach with its Netflix premiere on September 12. This release will not only bring the film's story to global audiences but also give Dhun and the rest of the soundtrack fresh momentum in the streaming world. With its blend of commercial success, critical acclaim, and now global streaming recognition, Dhun stands as a proud moment for Indian cinema—reminding the world that Bollywood's music can transcend borders, language, and culture.
