Wednesday fans baffled by Lady Gaga's season 2 role as they beg for answers
The Born This Way hitmaker was part of a raft of exciting guest stars in the cast, with Thandiwe Newton, Christopher Lloyd and Haley Joel Osment – all of whom appear in the first part of the season.
Details of Lady Gaga's appearance have been kept under the thickest of wraps over at Netflix HQ, with no official show stills yet of her character.
But we do at least know who she will be playing. Her character Rosaline Rotwood has been described as a 'legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday'.
The bad news is that Lady Gaga does not appear in part 1 of season 2, with her guest appearance saved for the second half which drops in September.

Fans will also have to wait until next month for Gaga's new song Dead Dance, which will feature in the show and is rumoured to reference her massive hit Abracadabra.

Even though the first batch of episodes only dropped this morning, Wednesday obsessives have already started tearing through them and have been disappointed to find no Gaga.
Taking to X, @esclumi wrote: 'Is Gaga in the first half of Wednesday or not,' as @WitnesSimo echoed: 'Watching Wednesday… where is GAGA.'
'If Lady Gaga Is in Part 2, then I'll wait to resubscribe to Netflix in September,' tweeted @imissportmore.
@GagaAvasMAYHEM cryptically shared: 'So much foreshadowing easter eggs leading up to Gaga's appearance.'
Gaga's guest appearance in the show was confirmed in May, when she stepped out at a Netflix fan event in Los Angeles for a Wednesday-themed performance of Zombieboy from her album Mayhem.
Wednesday co-creator Alfred Gough confirmed that Gaga's guest appearance came about as a result of last season's viral dance (with moves inspired by Siouxsie Sioux and Bob Fosse, among others), which TikTokers set to her deep cut track Bloody Mary and was credited with the show becoming a smash hit.

As virtually every interview has assured us, this season is darker, grittier and generally a 'No More Miss Nice Wednesday' type of affair.
After saving the school last season, Wednesday (Ortega, as unblinkingly good as ever) returns a B-list celeb with a stalker to reckon with. She's also started crying ink tears, which the NHS is curiously lacking advice on. Plus, there's a literal murder of deadly one-eyed crows causing havoc, furthering Alfred Hitchcock's scary bird agenda.
So the plot has bulked up, but we're not here for the macguffin mystery as much as the world itself. With Tim Burton's maximalist gothic direction, the show is stylish, witty, and lushly-set (in new filming location Ireland).
Our main gripe is the decision to isolate Wednesday. We lose something by the Addams family being so divided and largely sequestered from normie society. The moments she bumps up against it – one sequence where Wednesday terrorises a driving instructor stands out – make you realise that is where most of the fun lies.

'We all know she's an amazing actress, so we were just thrilled that she could come and play in the sandbox.'
Meanwhile, Ortega described Gaga as 'unbelievably sweet and giving', and hinted that Gaga's screen appearance might indeed be a brief affair as she told E! News: 'To be able to spend a day with her shooting was an absolute dream.'
In the same interview, Catherine Zeta-Jones added: 'I think just having her presence on the isle of Ireland just lifted everybody up. She's a queen. She's on the level to be in her presence for any amount of time is very memorable.'

During the first episodes of With Love, Meghan, which aired in March, the duchess's culinary tips included how to plate up a takeaway and tie a bow around a bag of shop-bought pretzels. And, if this trailer promoting series two is anything to go by, things look set to be just as ridiculous. In the same week it was revealed that Harry and Meghan's Netflix deal has been 'downgraded', the Duchess of Sussex shows her skills slicing bread, crumbling cheese, cutting a cucumber and washing fruit. Groundbreaking. 'There are easy ways to show up lovingly,' she tells the audience in her trademark gobbledygook, as she packs what look like Jammie Dodgers into a cardboard box and ties string around them. 'I love finding new ways to show people you care,' she trills. The eight-part series airs on August 26 and comes just five months after the first. Both were filmed at the same time. A 'holiday' special has been recorded too, for the Christmas period. Netflix will surely be hoping that this follow-up performs better than the first instalment, which was mercilessly mocked by critics and failed to crack the streaming giant's top 300 programmes. Netflix claims: 'Meghan returns with a fun and heartwarming new season, welcoming celebrity chefs, talented artists and beloved friends for hands-on adventures filled with laughter and discovery ... Meghan and her guests explore bold flavours, experiment with new techniques, and discover simple ways to add beauty to everyday life.' Special guests include: model and TV producer Chrissy Teigen, American chef Christina Tosi, British Michelin-starred chef Clare Smyth, restaurateur David Chang, British-Indian podcaster Jay Shetty and former Queer Eye presenter Tan France. Not quite A-list, then, and some of her guests aren't without controversies of their own. Teigen, who is married to singer John Legend and has her own food brand, Cravings, is shown in Meghan's home 'getting creative and learning something new'. 'Little things like this make me so happy,' gushes Teigen who, four years ago, had to issue an apology for her earlier cyber-bullying of US reality star Courtney Stodden, who was then just a teenager. As well as prepping food, we see Meghan arrange flowers, sit with a potter's wheel between her legs and make what might be a tea towel (it's hard to tell). Ozzy Osbourne 'was having fun' with daughter Kelly in poignant moment at funeral
Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo has shared his reflections on iconic Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne's funeral. Last month the musician – whose real name was John Osbourne – died aged 76 following a long period of living with Parkinson's and other health problems. His death certificate listed his cause of death as 'acute myocardial infarction' and 'out of hospital cardiac arrest'. Osbourne's funeral was held the following week, with an emotional funeral procession through the streets of Birmingham where his widow, Sharon Osbourne, was seen sobbing alongside their children. In a private service, Osbourne was buried on the grounds of his mansion and Trujillo has now said he believes the late rocker was 'having fun' during the funeral. The Metallica bassist was among the attendees at his late friend's private farewell service earlier this month and he reflected on the extreme weather changes throughout the day – including a sudden gust of wind that swept through as Kelly Osbourne sang for those gathered. Trujillo, who was a longtime member of Osbourne's backing band, told SiriusXM's Trunk Nation: 'It had been raining at the beginning of the service and then as it sort of progressed through the service, the weather would change and different things would happen. Season 2 of Netflix's 'ghoulish delight' lands 50,000,000 views in just days

The supernatural mystery drama premiered on August 6 with the first four episodes – the rest of the series will be available to stream on September 3. Jenna Ortega reprised her role as the titular character, returning to Nevermore Academy for another year and 'fresh foes and woes' alongside fellow students Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) and Bianca Barclay (Joy Sunday). 'Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem,' the official synopsis reads. 'Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.' Despite a three-year wait, season two has unsurprisingly soared up the charts on the streaming platform. In fact, Variety reports that the first batch of the season has earned more than 50million views so far. According to the outlet, this matches the numbers that season one premiered with in 2022 – but for only half the number of episodes, meaning the figures could get even higher when the rest, which include Lady Gaga, hit our screens. Critics and fans alike have heaped praise on Jenna and her star-studded castmates, including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Fred Armisen, Luis Guzman, Billie Piper and Gaga. It currently commands a Rotten Tomatoes score of 83%, and has been branded 'spookier than ever'. Variety's Aramide Tinubu praising: 'Full of zing and depth, the season remains just as thrilling as the first.' Lorraine Ali of the LA Times, agreed: 'It's really the performances, casting and artistic flourishes that make Wednesday a ghoulish delight.' Mashable's Belen Edwards penned: 'Ortega remains the cold, dead heart of the series – and I mean that as a compliment in tribute to Wednesday! 'With one deadly glare and a dry putdown in voiceover, Ortega's Wednesday is still a force to be reckoned with.'
