Here's where you've seen Vinny's attacker Mike in Emmerdale before
Vinny has been off-kilter since his attempt to kiss his friend, Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah), and, although Kammy offered his non-judgemental support, Vinny has mostly kept his confusion internal while his wedding to Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) rapidly approaches.
His attempts to open up to Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) went slightly awry. Aaron's admittance to kissing his ex Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) prior to exchanging vows with current husband John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) encouraged Vinny to divulge his own indiscretion – though failed to mention who the person (and their gender) he tried to kiss was.
When Aaron advised Vinny to keep the attempted kiss a secret, Vinny headed online to seek answers and found an LGBTQIA+ forum…and Mike.
After a meeting in the countryside, in which Vinny felt comfortable and safe to open up in the presence of a person supposedly experiencing the same issues as himself, Mike later appeared at Vinny's home, when things took an incredibly dark turn.
As Mike slipped from kind and comforting to increasingly sinister, he eventually revealed that his intentions were far from altruistic and everything he'd told Vinny was a lie. Poor Vinny was then subject to a vicious beating.
Mike made Vinny transfer £10,000 to him and stole the wedding rings for his upcoming nuptials to Gabby. Amidst the sympathy they felt for poor Vinny, fans also realised they'd seen 'Mike' before…
Taking to a Facebook fan page for Emmerdale, one person commented: 'anyone else remember that Mike from Corrie? Harvey got him to attack David.' Another fan added: 'I thought I recognised him!'. More Trending
Macaulay Cooper, who played the twisted extortionist, also had a turn in Coronation Street as Reggie, a thug employed by Weatherfield underworld boss, Harvey Gaskall (Will Mellor).
Macaulay now has a trifecta of soap villains under his belt, having previously played drug dealer Rob, who's selling of dodgy pills under the direction of resident gangster of the Chester village, Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas), resulted in the deaths of Lizzie Chen-Williams (Lily Best) and Hunter McQueen (Theo Graham).

Coronation Street's Beverley Callard, 68, showcases her huge leg tattoo in skimpy denim shorts after adding to the 'growing' inking
Coronation Street star Beverley Callard showcased her giant leg tattoo as she uploaded a clip to Instagram on Thursday. The soap actress, 68, who starred as Liz McDonald on the ITV soap, was seen standing in her kitchen wearing a pair of skimpy denim shorts. But as her husband, Jon McEwan - who she has been marry to since 2010- walked towards her, fans were able to catch a glimpse of her extended inking. She has added a sixth magnolia to the 'growing' bloom of flowers which creeps up her lower leg. The design features purple, blue and red flowers with pretty petals winding their way up her calf from her foot. It's not the first tattoo for the soap star, with Beverley previously revealing she got her first inking at 59. The actress had comedy and tragedy masks inked over a music score along with a red love heart in tribute to her husband Jon. The couple's names are written in the love heart along with 30-10-10, their wedding anniversary. Before tying the knot with Jon, Beverley was married to Steve Callard from 1989 until 2001, David Sowden from 1980 until 1988 and Paul Atkinson for three years from 1974 until 1977. Beverley has previously revealed that she's planning to go under the knife because she's 'scared of not getting any work'. Talking about her plans to have a facelift, Beverley told The Sun: 'I am going to do it, yes. It's difficult because our industry is so sexist and ageist, still.' She continued to reflect on how many films have husbands who are much older than their wives, saying the wives are usually 'stick insects… and their faces don't move'. 'I'm just going to join that because I'm scared of not getting work,' she added. The actress is thought to be intending to have the work done at London's Harley Street Skin Clinic. Despite being quite determined to have the surgery, her husband Jon and children Rebecca, 46, and Joshua, 32, are not said to be very keen. Beverley brushed off their concerns, saying she 'hates mirrors' and hasn't got much confidence about her appearance, preferring to play a role than appear as herself. She also detailed Jon's response to her facelift plans while on Melanie Blake's Girl Talk podcast in March, saying: 'Jon really doesn't want me to have it done. 'But I'm going to do it and I am doing it for me.'

Game of Thrones legend lands huge role in new period drama about beloved figure
The Game of Thrones icon is set to grace screens once again with a major role in a new star-studded period drama. Acclaimed actor Sean Bean, renowned for his performances in Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings and This City Is Ours, is poised to headline a brand new period drama. MGM+ today revealed a first glimpse of the forthcoming series Robin Hood, which will premiere later this year. The ten-part inaugural season, offering a fresh take on the English folk hero's tale, features Bean as the intimidating Sheriff of Nottingham opposite Gladiator star Connie Nielsen as Eleanor of Aquitaine. The preview image from the new programme provides "a glimpse at the tense rivalries and high-stakes power struggles at the heart of this reimagined take on the legendary tale". Robin Hood, helmed by showrunner John Glenn and producer/director Jonathan English, has been characterised by MGM+ as "a smart, sweeping, romantic adventure that brings historical authenticity, psychological depth, and a heightened focus on the relationship between Rob and Marian to the beloved story." Rising star Jack Patten will take on the titular role, whilst Hollyoaks actress Lauren McQueen will portray Marian, reports the Express. The cast also includes Lydia Peckham (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), Steven Waddington (The Trap), Marcus Fraser (Foundation), Angus Castle-Doughty (Shadow and Bone) and social media sensation Henry Rowley. The debut image from Robin Hood shows Nielsen adorned in an exquisite blue gown, a cape and a golden crown. Bean's appearance, meanwhile, harks back to his stint as Ned Stark in Game of Thrones. The duo are seen hand in hand, navigating through what seems to be a castle room lit by candles, with servants poised attentively behind them. There have been numerous memorable renditions of the Robin Hood tale over time, including Errol Flynn's iconic portrayal in 1938's The Adventures of Robin Hood. Cinema enthusiasts will also recall Kevin Costner and Alan Rickman's performances in the 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Other unforgettable films featuring the character include 1976's Robin and Marian, starring Hollywood greats Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn, and Disney's animated classic Robin Hood from 1973. The 2025 series Robin Hood is yet to announce a release date, but it's expected to premiere later this year on MGM+ in the U.K., Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands.
