The Essential Michael Jackson Returns to the Top 10
The Essential Michael Jackson, a compilation of some of the superstar's biggest hits, climbs this week on the Official Albums Streaming chart in the United Kingdom. The project lifts from No. 12 to No. 7, returning not only to the top 10, but reaching its loftiest placement ever.
Michael Jackson Soars Back to His Career Peak
No. 7 isn't just a high point for The Essential — it's the all-time peak for Jackson on the ranking as well. The compilation remains his only release to break into the top 10 on the streaming-only tally, and it has never climbed higher than seventh place.
Despite the fact that The Essential came out in 2005, it didn't hit No. 7 until November 2023. Since then, the set has come close to matching that position several times, but it never quite made it until this frame.
Michael Jackson Climbs on Every Chart
As streams of The Essential grow, the title rises on the only other roster on which it can currently be found in the U.K., the Official Albums chart. The singles collection pushes from No. 21 to No. 16 this frame. The compilation has previously ruled that list and still ranks among Jackson's No. 1s on the main albums tally.

Rapper 50 Cent Seemingly Confirms 'Street Fighter' Casting
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors Rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has seemingly confirmed a report that he's in talks to star in the upcoming "Street Fighter" reboot. If true, Jackson will potentially play the boxer Balrog. Nexus Point News was the first site to report that Jackson was in talks to play Balrog, and not long after their report, Jackson took to social media platform X to respond. No Days off, Let's work all roads lead to Shreveport 💣Boom💨 • — 50cent (@50cent) June 24, 2025 Read More: Live-Action 'Street Fighter' Casts Horror Star as Chun-Li Jackson posted a link to the Nexus Point News story, and while he technically didn't confirm it, he certainly didn't deny it either. He captioned the post with "No Days off, Let's work all roads lead to Shreveport 💣Boom💨" and added a link to his site Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson attends the Grand Opening of the brand new Planet Hollywood NYC hosted by Robert Earl, Alec & Hilaria Baldwin, Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, and Boy George on March 11, 2025 in... Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson attends the Grand Opening of the brand new Planet Hollywood NYC hosted by Robert Earl, Alec & Hilaria Baldwin, Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, and Boy George on March 11, 2025 in New York City. Morefor Planet Hollywood If the report is true, then Jackson won't be playing one of the good guys. First appearing in 1991's "Street Fighter II: The World Warrior", Balrog is one of the fighters on the side of M. Bison's malevolent organization, Shadaloo. Balrog is a boxer from Las Vegas whose star was once on the rise, but he wound up in disgrace after his ambitions led him to cheat and even to kill some of his opponents in the ring. The news of Jackson's potential casting is the second casting story to emerge about "Street Fighter" in as many days. Yesterday, we learned that "Presence" star Callina Liang had joined the cast as martial arts expert and Interpol agent Chun-Li. The cast list of the "Street Fighter" reboot continues to grow, with perhaps the biggest name attached so far that of Jason Momoa. It's also been reported that Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Roman Reigns, and Orville Peck will star in the film. Nexus Point News reports that Momoa is playing the monstrous Blanka, Centineo is Ken, Koji is Ryu, Reigns plays Akuma, and Peck will play Vega. The "Street Fighter" reboot is being directed by Kitao Sakurai, and the latest draft of the script was written by Dalan Musson, who co-wrote "Captain America: Brave New World". There's no word yet on producers. The "Street Fighter" games first launched in 1987, and numerous sequels and spinoffs followed. The games usually revolve around a global fighting competition organized by the villainous M. Bison. Steven E. de Souza wrote and directed the first live-action "Street Fighter" film that hit theaters in 1994. It starred Ming-Na Wen, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Raul Julia, and Wes Studi among others. Ciara Miller, Ilona Maher, Harry Jowsey party at Spotify's private concert during Cannes Lions 2025
CANNES — Influencers, reality stars and even a US Olympian were spotted having a great time at Spotify's invite-only concert in France Tuesday night. 'Summer House' star Ciara Miller — fresh off her trip to Italy — was seen hanging out with a group of girlfriends by the bar and dancing along to the music. The Bravo beauty, 29, wore a stylish outfit consisting of a black tank top, zebra print-like skirt and heels. A Page Six spy tells us that Miller appeared 'approachable,' as she spent most of her time in the non-VIP area with her gal pals. Fellow guests respected the reality star's privacy but one brave male partygoer, who went up to compliment her look, says she came across as 'very nice.' Meanwhile, in the VIP area of Spotify Beach on the Croisette, rugby star Ilona Maher was seen enjoying herself with her sister. Netflix star and podcaster Harry Jowsey, YouTuber David Dobrick and 'Shahs of Sunset' alum Nima Nejat were other notable names spotted at the party. After DJs Baby J and Dre Tala spun some tunes, Australian pop duo Royel Otis hit the stage to perform a few of their hits, as well as some covers of classics like The Cranberries' 'Linger' and Sophie Ellis-Bextor's 'Murder on the Dancefloor.' However, the headlining act of the night was Alex Warren who had the crowd zoned in on the stage when he performed a medley of songs like 'Carry You Home,' 'Save You a Seat' and 'Before You Leave Me.' The singer-songwriter even showcased some of his cheeky humor during the 45-minute set, telling a hyped up audience member, 'I sound like Lewis Capaldi to this guy.' Warren finished off his electrifying performance with his chart-topping hit 'Ordinary,' which even had passersby stopping on the Croisette to catch a listen of the popular track. Spotify is set to keep the party going Wednesday night with a second concert featuring Cardi B.
