The Porsche 911 is, arguably, the benchmark for modern sports cars. The iconic machine's specific combination of performance, usability and reliability means the 911 retains its value better than any other vehicle in the market. The bad news? Getting behind the wheel of a new one continues to grow more expensive with every passing year.
With newly-announced 25% tariffs on imported cars looming, it's not unexpected that Porsche models would see prices rise. However, the most recent increase doesn't appear to be related to the tariffs at all. As users of the popular Porsche enthusiast site Rennlist noted on Wednesday, Porsche's 911 configurator has been updated to show the 2026 models — and the update included significant price hikes for most 992.2-generation models, as well as an increase in delivery, processing and handling fee from $1995 to $2250 on all 2026 911s.
The result: a "basic" 2026 911 Carrera that now starts at $129,950, including delivery — a nearly 6.5% increase over the 2025 car's base of $122,095. Most of the 2026 911 range saw similar increases, the exceptions being the most recently revealed 992.2 models, the 911 Carrera S and the 911 GT3 and GT3 Touring. Of course, the GT3 models already saw a serious price increase when they moved to the 992.2 platform.
So, what do you get for the extra coin? Not a whole lot. The cars are basically the same, but there are some minor trim updates. For example, for the 2025 model year the Preparation for Roof Transport System was a $60 option; it's now standard on 911 coupes. There are also some changes around how the leather options are configured. In 2025, the Basalt Black/Classic Cognac leather option on the base Carrera was $7000, but it required the Extended Door Panel in Leather option for $1900. For 2026, the Cognac leather is $7480, but it includes the extended leather option, making it effectively $1420 cheaper.
Regardless, there's no denying the fact that the Porsche 911 is getting more and more expensive — and forthcoming tariffs may only exacerbate the situation. If you have a 911 on order, it may be worth reaching out to your dealer and confirming if you're price-protected, or if you'll have to pay the higher amount.
Porsche has also updated their website for the 2026 Taycan, Panamera, Macan (gasoline) and Cayenne models. Prices increase on many of those models as well, but not as significantly as what we saw on the 911.

Porsche engine repair and regular engine checks are required to avoid major damage Transmission Problems: Porsche vehicles have a reputation of having precise shifting ;however transmission problems may occur. Slipping gears, trouble shifting, unresponsiveness or a slow reaction should be handled as soon as possible because it may cause more damage to the system. Suspension Wear: The suspension system of a Porsche offers a smooth and balanced ride. Suspension parts wear over time, which causes loss of performance in handling. This plays an especially important role in Porsche models such as the 911, in which precise handling is essential. Brake System Issues: Porsche cars are equipped with high-performance brakes which also need to be regularly serviced. Damaged rotors or faulty brake pads or brake sensors may influence performance, which reduces safety and handling. Electrical Problems: Current Porsches are heavily loaded with advanced electrical systems, including infotainment and advanced driver-assistance systems. Malfunctions within the wiring, sensors, or control units may result in numerous problems, including simple glitches all the way up to outright failures of the system. In the case of seeking a reputable Porsche repair near me, you need to find a service provider who is familiar with the complexities of Porsche engineering. The repair of a Porsche is an art that needs special training and selecting the best repair shop can be the way to give your car the best treatment. The following are tips on how to locate the best Porsche repair center: Look for Experience: Find a repair center that has experience with Porsche cars. The major issues that have to be addressed by professionals, include the following: Oil Leaks and Pressure Issues: With the time, Porsche engines may leak oil, particularly around seals, gaskets, or the oil pan. Without being fixed, such leaks may result in lower oil pressure and engine damage. Routine inspection will enable timely detection of oil leaks. Overheating: A Porsche engine may overheat because of cooling system problems, including a damaged radiator or thermostat. The engine may be severely damaged by overheating, and that is why the cooling system should be inspected regularly. Ignition System Failures: A defective ignition system may cause poor engine performance such as misfires and repetitive starting problems. Damaged spark plugs, ignition coils, or wiring may cause ignition system problems that need repair. Timing Chain or Belt Issues: The timing chain or belt controls the synchronization of the engine's moving parts. If it becomes worn or damaged, it can cause the engine to run poorly or even lead to severe internal damage. Engine Performance Problems: Engine parts can wear out with time and performance is affected. This can be accompanied by loss of power, fuel economy, or rough idling. These problems can be detected and solved through a proper engine checkup. Tesla Battles Nine Major Legal Action That Could Dent Musk's EV Empire

Tesla Battles Nine Major Legal Action That Could Dent Musk's EV Empire originally appeared on Autoblog. From Autopilot crash verdicts to right-to-repair fights, here's why Tesla's lawyers are burning rubber. Tesla's not just racing Porsche on Nürburgring leaderboards — it's in a different kind of endurance test. The company is defending itself on multiple legal tracks at once, with billions of dollars, regulatory approval, and investor confidence all at stake. From the $329 million Autopilot verdict in Florida to the class-action punches over its Robotaxi debut, here's Tesla's legal jeopardy scoreboard. And this is not exhaustive! The Legal Docket Case / Issue Summary Scale / Status Autopilot fatal crash verdict Florida jury orders $329M penalty after a 2019 crash on Autopilot. Historic first verdict tying Tesla to a third-party death. Robotaxi shareholder suit Investors claim safety misstatements inflated stock before Austin launch. Filed Aug 2025. Potential class-wide damages. California DMV false-marketing case DMV says 'Autopilot' label misled buyers; wants 30-day sales ban in CA. Hearing finished July 2025; ruling pending. DOJ criminal probe Federal inquiry into fraud over self-driving statements. Active; no public findings yet. Phantom-braking & other consumer suits Class actions over sudden braking, range claims, warranties. Multiple cases alive in federal courts. Workplace bias & harassment Racial harassment and retaliation claims from staff and ex-HR pros. Ongoing litigation; some large settlements reduced on retrial. Right-to-repair antitrust actions Owners say Tesla locks out independent repairs and parts. Two claims advancing under CA law. Whistleblower solar-fire claims Alleged retaliation for reporting defective solar products. SEC probe continues. Odometer manipulation lawsuit Plaintiffs say Tesla inflated odometer readings to void warranties early. Class action in California; could affect over 1M vehicles Why It Matters to the Car World The Autopilot crash verdict is more than a legal loss—it's the first time a jury has said Tesla shares blame for a death tied to its driver-assist tech. If you're a fan of steering feel, suspension compliance, or road feedback, think about this: every Autopilot failure is also a reminder of what gets lost when software makes decisions instead of the driver's hands and seat-of-the-pants instinct. The Robotaxi lawsuit strikes at Tesla's hype machine. For enthusiasts, the appeal of a Tesla has always been the combination of instant torque, low center of gravity, and that clean cabin feel. If investors win on claims that autonomy was oversold, the company might shift resources away from chassis refinement and long-trip comfort to pay for settlements. The Bigger Picture Competitors like Porsche and Mercedes are pushing adaptive driver-assist systems, but they've avoided Tesla's courtroom exposure by framing them as aids, not chauffeurs. Tesla's choice to market 'Full Self-Driving' as near-human has put it in the crosshairs. A California sales ban, even for a month, would hit Tesla where it's most entrenched. And right-to-repair lawsuits? They speak directly to gearheads who like tinkering—Tesla's lockouts run counter to the American garage culture. Bottom Line Tesla's legal troubles aren't background noise—they're part of the main act now. The company is still quick off the line in EV performance, but the track ahead is lined with subpoenas, regulatory hurdles, and shareholder fury. If you care about the cars themselves, watch these cases. They'll shape not just the brand's balance sheet, but how much control you have over the car in your driveway.
