Dak Prescott caught making bold Cowboys prediction before preseason game with Rams
And depending on which extreme you're on, you either love or loathe the confidence coming from the long-time Cowboys signer caller.
The star quarterback made headlines following the team's preseason opener against the Rams by boldly predicting a matchup between the two teams in the NFC Championship game this season.

Despite hardly being a team reasonable pundits are picking to make the postseason, Prescott unabashedly believes Dallas is destined for greatness in 2025.
Before the game, Prescott was seen shaking hands with Rams owner Stan Kroenke, during which he confidently said, 'We'll meet y'all in the NFC Championship.'
And, of course, it was caught on camera.
The Rams aren't exactly viewed as NFC favorites, but they are expected to have a good season given that their over/under sits at 9.5 wins, compared to Dallas' 7.5, per DraftKings.
Of course, this could be along the lines of something Prescott cordially says to any opponent during the preseason about a potential playoff or Super Bowl meeting, we just happened to get this one on video
This declaration stands out not only for its audacity but also because the Cowboys have not reached the NFC Championship since the 1995 season, marking the longest current streak in the NFC.
Despite a disappointing 7–10 record in 2024 — largely due to Prescott's midseason hamstring tear, along with CeeDee Lamb's prolonged injury battles — the Cowboys appear unshaken.
The Rams, on the other hand, are coming off a strong 2024 season, advancing to the NFC Divisional Round.

They're also nearly the favorites to win their division, just narrowly behind the San Francisco 49ers, while the Cowboys considerably trail both the defending champion Eagles and the 2024 surprise Commanders.
The 32-year-old Prescott threw for 1,978 yards last season, as well as 11 touchdowns to eight interceptions.
Notably, the three-time Pro Bowler agreed to a $240 million extension before last season and is signed with the team through 2028.

James Cook: We paid now, so let's go play football
The contract dispute between the Bills and James Cook came to an official end on Wednesday when the running back put pen to paper on his four-year extension. Cook had been staging a hold-in but got back to practice on Tuesday as a full participant. 'We paid now, so let's go play football,' Cook said Wednesday, via Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN. Cook said he was 'just trying to protect' himself with his hold-in. Given the prevalence of injuries around the league during camp, his approach more than made sense. But he added that he 'kind of knew' that a deal was close when he got back on the field on Tuesday. 'Just trying to stay healthy and just get everything done before I can go out there and play with a clear mindset and just be locked in,' Cook said. G.M. Brandon Beane noted that there was an understanding between the team and player that he needed to practice if the two sides were going to negotiate. That's what happened and now Cook is ready to continue contributing for a team with Super Bowl aspirations in 2025.

Jalen Hurts, Shedeur Sanders had 'lengthy conversation' after practice
Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders has been a sponge during the preseason, soaking up as much information from veterans as he can. On Monday, the Browns' social media team shared a mic'd up moment of Sanders asking teammate and star defensive end Myles Garrett how he would plan his pass rush against the rookie quarterback. On Wednesday, Sanders had a "lengthy conversation" with Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and reigning Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts after practice. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo snapped a picture of the two quarterbacks chatting on the practice field, separate from the rest of their teammates at the Browns and Eagles' joint practice. The Eagles' head of security, "Big Dom" DiSandro, stood nearby. "I'll keep the conversation intimate. We had a very lengthy conversation," Hurts said. "He came to me and just wanted to talk. You gotta want it. You gotta want it. And so, I'm supporting him from where I am and wishing him nothing but the best with this opportunity." After their conversation, Hurts gave Sanders a golf cart ride back to the teams' locker rooms. According to the Browns, Sanders suffered an oblique injury near the start of the Browns' Wednesday practice. His decision to stick around to have a conversation with Hurts after practice seems to show a commitment to learning every day, even when he's not a full participant in practice. The Browns are scheduled to play their second preseason game against the Eagles on Saturday. Cleveland had planned for Sanders to start the game if fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, who has been dealing with hamstring tightness, had been unable to go, according to reports. With Sanders' oblique injury, his status for the game is unclear. The Week 2 preseason game is scheduled to kick off at Lincoln Financial Field at 1 p.m. ET Saturday afternoon. NFL Network will simulcast the Eagles' local broadcast to a national audience.
