It has been raining in Manchester for the past few days. The pitch at Old Trafford has reportedly been mostly under covers and is expected to help the fast bowlers.

In the podcast Stick To Cricket, Ravi Shastri said, 'This pitch will have more bounce than others from what one's heard. If the weather is not that hot…'
He was quickly corrected by Lloyd, 'Very, very flat. No pace, no grass.'
Michael Vaughan also chipped in and said: 'The pace has gone since Old Trafford… (changed the axis).'
Lloyd suggested that the spinners will get more from this pitch.

'I'm not saying they're worried (in these parts, about the loss of sting in the pitch), but they understand that pace has gone out of the pitch… it could spin… The footmarks are there,' he said.
Former England batter Mark Ramprakash echoed Lloyd's sentiments and predicted India might play Kuldeep Yadav in the fourth Test.

Do you believe the Old Trafford pitch will have more bounce than previous venues?
Yes
No
Unsure
'India may also have a fresh left-arm spinning option if, as rumoured, Kuldeep Yadav comes into the side in Manchester. Traditionally, the Old Trafford surface tends to be dry and abrasive, and to turn as the game goes on. If ever there was a pitch where it would make sense for Kuldeep to come in, this would be it,' Ramprakash wrote in his Guardian column.
The fourth Test between India and England will start on Wednesday at Old Trafford.

Josh Hines Allen opens up about his son Wesley's brave cancer battle and inspiring recovery
Josh Hines Allen opens up about his son Wesley's brave cancer battle and inspiring recovery (Image Via X) It all started with a phone call. Josh Hines‑Allen, a star defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars, found out early in 2025 that his seven‑year‑old son, Wesley, had acute promyelocytic leukemia. For months they fought in hospital rooms, holding onto hope. The family stayed quiet at first, sharing little public detail. Now the prayers are working. Wesley is back to being a kid; playing, laughing, and even heading back to school. The NFL world is watching, hoping, and lifting him up every day. Josh Hines‑Allen's son Wesley fought Leukemia with strength beyond his years Wesley was diagnosed in January 2025 in Jacksonville, Florida, after he had a high fever and began bleeding from a tooth, which led his parents to seek medical help at Nemours Children's Health, Jacksonville. His dad, Josh Hines‑Allen, missed the last game of the 2024 season due to this crisis. Over the next six to seven months, Wesley underwent chemotherapy at Nemours, a rigorous period that his parents described as the hardest time of their lives. In July 2025, Josh announced via social media that Wesley is now in full remission and nearing the end of his treatment, with the final chemotherapy phase planned to wrap up by the end of August in Jacksonville. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 15 Most Beautiful Female Athletes in the World! Learn More Undo Josh shared, 'We recently received the good news that Wesley is on his way to a full recovery,' and Kaitlyn, his wife, added, 'He's swimming every day … running around … playing sports' like any seven‑year‑old. Josh added, 'He's got back to being the big brother that he is'. Josh and Kaitlyn Hines‑Allen turned their son's battle into a mission to help others Inspired by their son's courage, Josh and Kaitlyn have started a charity effort through their nonprofit foundation, Four One For All. In 2025 they created a campaign called Four One For Hope. Each month of the NFL season, they will support a different childhood cancer nonprofit: Nemours Children's Health in September, the American Cancer Society in October, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville in November, and the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation in December. Josh has said their goal is to help other families feel the same love and support they received. He praised his team's coaches and staff for checking in with him by asking, 'How's Wesley?' rather than just, 'How are you?' —showing real care for his family. With Wesley winning his battle and the Hines‑Allen family giving back, the NFL world continues to stand behind them—with hope, with prayers, and with respect for a brave young boy's strength. Calgary Flames sign Martin Pospisil to three-year, $7.5M NHL contract extension
Image Via r/CalgaryFlames Reddit The Calgary Flames have signed forward Martin Pospisil to a three-year contract extension worth $7.5 million, his agent Dan Milstein confirmed. The deal carries an average annual value of $2.5 million and begins in the 2026–27 season. Pospisil, who was set to enter the final year of his previous contract, will now bypass restricted free agency next summer, keeping him under Calgary's control through the 2028–29 season. Calgary Flames lock in Martin Pospisil with long-term contract after strong 2024–25 NHL season The 25-year-old Slovak forward played a key role for the Flames throughout the 2024–25 season, recording 25 points (4 goals, 21 assists) in 81 games while finishing third in the NHL with 301 hits. His physical edge remained intact, but Pospisil showed marked improvement in his discipline, cutting his penalty minutes from 109 in his rookie campaign to 84. He averaged 13:48 of ice time per game, earning brief power-play minutes in a net-front role and also seeing expanded usage at center. Pospisil won 40.8% of his 174 faceoffs, respectable for a player transitioning from the wing. With little change expected in the Flames' forward group heading into the 2025–26 season, he's projected to continue in a similar bottom-six role as his current $1 million cap hit remains in effect for one more year. Restricted free agent Connor Zary remains unsigned for the upcoming season, and other key names, center Mikael Backlund, defenseman Rasmus Andersson, and goalie Dustin Wolf will all need new deals for 2026–27. Andersson, in particular, could be a trade candidate if no progress is made, while Wolf's future looms large given his rising profile as a potential starting goaltender. Even so, locking in Pospisil signals Calgary's intent to preserve roster continuity and reward players who bring consistent effort and edge. The Flames have made a clear vote of confidence in Martin Pospisil, securing him for the long term after back-to-back impactful seasons. With other major contract decisions ahead, Calgary's front office is banking on internal development and Pospisil's evolving game to keep the franchise competitive. FAQs: 1. When does Martin Pospisil's new contract start? The extension begins in the 2026–27 NHL season. 2. What nationality is Martin Pospisil? He is Slovakian.
