Jayson Tatum sheds boot in encouraging Celtics rehab sign after Achilles tear
The Celtics star revealed on Instagram Sunday that he no longer has a boot on his right foot as he heals from the ruptured Achilles tendon he suffered during Game 4 of Boston's second-round series against the Knicks on May 12.
Tatum underwent surgery about 18 hours after the gruesome injury, and he has been rehabbing throughout the summer.

Before posting his update on Instagram, he was last seen working out with the Chattanooga men's basketball team at the program's facility on Friday.
The Celtics have not offered a timetable on Tatum's return, but the 27-year-old is widely expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2025-26 season.
'He seems to be doing really well. Rehabbing's hard. Anyone who's been through a long injury and a long recovery, it's just a challenge,' Celtics president Brad Stevens said on the broadcast of Boston's July 13 Summer League game. 'Mental challenge, physical challenge, obviously. But he got the surgery right away, and from that point on, his mindset was, 'We're going after this thing and trying to get better.'

'He's a competitor. He's gonna compete in everything he does, including rehab. I'm really encouraged. I've basically seen him every day in Boston for the last 50 days. Usually, he goes away at the end of the season and then comes back, but he's just stayed there and been doing his rehab. It's been fun to spend time with him every day and just try to catch up and see how he's doing as we watch him make the strides he needs to make.'
Tatum, a five-time All-NBA honoree, averaged 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists last season.
When he makes his return, he'll join a new-look Celtics team that no longer features Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday, but has new additions in Anfernee Simons and Georges Niang.

Golden State Warriors jersey history - No. 19 - Devean George (2009-10)
The Golden State Warriors have had over 600 players don the more than 60 jersey numbers used by their players over the more than 75 years of existence the team has enjoyed in its rich and storied history. Founded in 1946 during the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- a precursor league of the NBA) era, the team has called home the cities of Philadelphia, San Francisco, Oakland, and even San Diego. To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Warriors Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. For this article, we begin with the 11th of 13 players who wore the No. 19 jersey for the Warriors. That player would be Golden State forward alum Devean George. After ending his college career at Augsburg College, George was picked up with the 23rd overall selection of the 1999 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. Boston Celtics jersey history No. 28 - Quinn Buckner (1982-85)
The Boston Celtics have had players suiting up in a total of 68 different jersey numbers (and have three others not part of any numerical series) since their founding at the dawn of the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- the league that would become today's NBA), worn by well over 500 players in the course of Celtics history. To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Celtics Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. With 25 of those jerseys now retired to honor some of the greatest Celtics to wear those jerseys, there is a lot of history to cover. And for today's article, we will continue with the sixth of 14 people to wear the No. 28, Boston guard alum Quinn Buckner. After ending his college career at Indiana, Buckner was picked up with the seventh overall selection of the 1976 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. His stint with the Bucks ended in 1982 when Milwaukee dealt him to Boston. His stay with the team would span three seasons, coming to an end when he was dealt to the Indiana Pacers in 1985. During his time suiting up for the Celtics, Buckner wore only jersey No. 28 and put up 4.8 points, 1.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
