Housefull 5 box office collection worldwide: Akshay Kumar's comedy caper, the fifth instalment of his much-loved comedy franchise, has entered the Rs 200 crore club at India box office and crossed Rs 300 crore worldwide, at per the makers. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film was directed by Tarun Mansukhani and released on July 6. It opened to mixed reviews but that has not dented its box office collection.
The movie has become Akshay Kumar's highest grossing film after Covid-19 pandemic. It has surpassed the lifetime collection of Sooryavanshi, which had a worldwide gross collection of Rs 294.91 crore. Housefull 5 has also beat his 2025 releases, including, Kesari Chapter 2 (Rs 145.73 crore) and Sky Force (Rs 174.21 crore). Housefull 5 has entered the list of the biggest entertainers of 2025, but still lagging behind Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava with a worldwide gross collection of Rs 807.6 crore. The movie's collection has been dipping slowly day by day, as it is facing tough competition from other new releases, including, Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par, Kajol's Maa, and Brad Pitt starrer F1.
An excerpt of SCREEN's Housefull 5 review read, 'All I know that the bird has a bigger speaking part than some of the ladies, but what can you do, there are so many characters, the writers must have had a hard time handing out an equal number of lines to each. But then they must have thought, oh, they're all birds, so that's okay. I have to say that compared to the previous Housefulls, this one has a slightly fuller house, but because no one expects anything else, it's pretty much like the older ones– characters tumbling over each other, crass jokes about body parts and fluids (how can they not be there) abound, and yes, there's that classic climactic human chain, where the entire cast is yelling and screaming and shouting and…'
Besides Akshay Kumar, Housefull 5's ensemble star cast also includes Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Nana Patekar, Jacqueline Fernandes, Chunky Panday, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Ranjeet, Fardeen Khan, Nargis Fakhri, Sonam Bajwa, Chitrangada Singh, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Johny Lever, Nikitin Dheer, and Soundarya Sharma.

He entered in style, dressed in an ivory bandhgala paired with black sunglasses, and went on to drop jaws with his stylish walk. The collection channeled opulence of maharajas and maharanis, reimagining royal heritage. Post the show, Bollywood royalty Akshay obliged the media with a quick chat, ending the night on a fun note. Akshay Kumar, the showstopper Talking to the media, Akshay Kumar stated, 'Well, thank you very much. Main Hindi mein bolunga. Aap sabhi logo ka bohot bohot dhanyawad, jitne bhi yahan log aaye, aur media. (Looking at his watch) Kaafi late nahi ho gaya hai?' Many joked that it was way past Akshay's bed time, referring to the actor's disciplined lifestyle. When someone said 'Dilli mein chalta hai sir', Akshay replied, 'Dilli mein chalta hai? Tabhi haal dekh tera.' After this quick banter, Akshay went on to share, 'Actually, after a long time I'm doing this walk, ramp walk. Sharing his experience, Akshay went on to add, 'I have enjoyed each and every bit of it. Log itna saj dhaj ke aate hain aur 25 minute ke andar poora show khatam ho jaata hai. I wish them lots of luck and I hope I get another chance to be with them.' Well, it was a delight to watch Akshay Kumar slay on the ramp. Truly iconic!

Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda have become the talk of the town with their debut film Saiyaara, which is smashing records at the box office. According to the latest update by Sacnilk, the romantic drama has now crossed Rs 190 crore in just 8 days, making it one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. On its second Friday, Saiyaara added Rs 17.50 crore to its tally, pushing the total box office collection to Rs 190 crore. The film had a record-breaking opening with Rs 21.5 crore on day one and saw its highest single-day figure on Sunday at Rs 35.75 crore. The Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda starrer is now outperforming several Bollywood biggies. With its latest collection, Saiyaara has surpassed the lifetime business of Sikandar, Sitaare Zameen Par, and Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5, which ended its run at Rs 183.3 crore. With no major releases this Friday—Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2 has been postponed to August 1—Saiyaara is expected to continue its blockbuster run through its second weekend as well. Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Yash Raj Films' CEO Akshaye Widhani, Saiyaara revolves around the love story of Krish Kapoor, an aspiring musician played by Ahaan Panday, and Vaani Batra, portrayed by Aneet Padda. Critics and audiences alike have praised the film's fresh storytelling, the sizzling chemistry between the leads, and its chartbuster music, which has become a viral sensation. With glowing word-of-mouth and no competition in theatres, Saiyaara is well on its way to entering the Rs 200 crore club soon. Exhibition in Thiruvananthapuram highlights conversations on social issues

The works of 13 artists are on display at an exhibition titled Karu, which addresses pressing social issues. Thumbi, the curator of the exhibition, shares that the unique title was originally intended for a magazine. 'We hoped to address more issues and ideas through the magazine. And then, we came across Sree Narayana Guru's Atmopadesha Satakam, and in it was the word Karu. We looked it up in a dictionary and found that it means nucleus, core, and also has other interesting meanings like black, hard, something valuable, a type of drum, etc. All of these meanings connect with the works in the show,' she states. Speaking about the artists participating in the exhibition, she says, 'The artists are people we met during our journey with the art collective Untitled Kitchen. Some of these works were specifically made for the magazine while others are contributions from their existing body of work. For example, Mrudula's poem Postmortem Report, which addressed the suicide of Sidharthan JS, a veterinary university student, allegedly due to ragging. It wasn't published, but after I discussed the idea behind the exhibition, she suggested this work.' One of the featured artists is Devu Nenmara, a labourer who started painting with materials given to her by her son, artist Unnikrishnan, during the COVID lockdown. 'When we included Devu Amma's work, the idea was to reflect on who gets to be called an artist and what qualifies as an artistic practice. Devu Amma painted what she saw growing up — the colours she is familiar with, her memories. Even at her age, she is documenting her world, and that act is what we love to consider as artistic practice. The by-product could be anything — even something an ordinary person may not find visually pleasing — but the act of returning to the work can be considered art,' Thumbi explains.
