A dad has jumped into the ocean to save his daughter after she fell overboard from the fourth deck on a Disney cruise on Sunday, according to officials and multiple news reports.
The Disney Dream was returning to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Sunday following a four-night cruise in the Bahamas and made a stop at Disney's Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, where the incident took place.
'The crew aboard the Disney Dream swiftly rescued two guests from the water,' Disney Cruise Line told People.
'We commend our crew members for their exceptional skills and prompt actions, which ensured the safe return of both guests to the ship within minutes.
According to posts in the unofficial Disney Dream Cruise Ship Facebook group, where passengers often share updates and experiences, a young girl fell overboard from the ship's fourth deck and a man identified as her father immediately jumped in after her.
'Her dad went in after her,' passenger Kevin Furuta wrote.
'Right after the incident, we heard on the loudspeaker, 'MOB (man overboard) Port side!! Thankfully, the (Disney) rescue team was on it immediately and both were saved!'
In a separate post, passenger Mary Ann Sutherland wrote, 'A little girl fell overboard and her father jumped in to save her … apparently the dad sat her on the railing!'
After treading water for about 20 minutes with his daughter in his arms, they were both rescued by member of the ship's crew.
In video footage posted on Facebook by passenger Janice Martin-Asuque, who is believed to have witnessed the incident, a lifeboat can be seen floating in the choppy waters with people sitting inside.
'We are committed to the safety and well-being of our guests,' Disney Cruise Line added in their statement to People.
'This incident highlights the effectiveness of our safety protocols.'
Another angle of the rescue has been shared on TikTok, with the user describing the scene as a 'miracle'.
No injuries were reported from the incident.

Keith Urban 'didn't hang up' on racy interview question
Keith Urban has appeared to abruptly end a radio interview after being asked a personal question about his wife Nicole Kidman's intimate career moments, but sources say the singer did not hang up. The Australian country music star was speaking on Mix 102.3 on Tuesday when hosts Max Burford and Hayley Pearson introduced a game called Wall of Truth, and reports claimed after Keith abruptly ended the chat when asked about his wife Nicole Kidman's latest raunchy sex scenes. "Keith did not hang up, period," a source told People. "He doesn't host his Zoom interviews. This is a complete nothing burger." Pearson described the supposedly controversial chat show section that allegedly prompted Urban to hang up as a segment where they ask guests "a very tricky" and "deeply personal" question. Burford began it by asking Urban: "When I was coming up with something to ask you, Keith Urban, if you happen to play this game, the first thing I thought of, with your beautiful wife Nicole Kidman being on so many great movies, TV shows all the time ... I watched a movie with her and Zac Efron recently, A Family Affair." Urban replied politely: "Oh yeah, that's a good one." Burford then asked: "And I thought, 'What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron having these beautiful love scenes on TV and radio?'" Shortly after the question, Urban disappeared from the call. Another voice on the show said he'd been "disconnected from Zoom". Burton suggested: "I think his team hung up on us because they didn't want us to ask that question," adding Urban "doesn't like the personal stuff." The source told People that Urban is a "very easygoing" interviewee and was not personally offended by the question. A representative for Urban declined to comment on the incident. Nicole Kidman stars alongside Zac Efron in A Family Affair, released in June 2024. In the film, the actor plays a widowed writer who begins dating Efron's character, a self-absorbed actor employing her daughter as a personal assistant. Kidman told People last year: "It's really helpful when you're doing this sort of work together that you've already got a history together, because it's easy. You're not working to create a history. So I'm not like, 'Can I touch you?' I feel incredibly trusting of Zac." Urban and Kidman married in 2006 and celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary in June. DDG jokes about using fertility clinic to avoid drama
DDG has claimed he will have his next child via fertility treatment to "alleviate" against any potential issues. The 27-year-old online personality is currently locked in a bitter battle with former girlfriend Halle Bailey - with whom he has 18-month-old son Halo - and he's joked about using his wealth in order to fund having another baby with the intervention of medical specialists. During a livestream on Twitch, he said: 'If I'm 29 or something like that, and I ain't got the time… I'll just go to that little place, do my little one-two, put my s*** in a cup. Take a little egg from somebody, throw it in another little body. Cook that motherf***** up for nine months, ya know? You can do that type s*** when you got money. That'll alleviate a lot of s***.' Last month, DDG failed in a bid to secure a domestic violence restraining order against Halle The streamer had alleged the 25-year-old actress posed a risk to Halo and sought to prevent her from taking the little boy with her to Italy, where she had filming commitments. In response, the Little Mermaid star filed to deny DDG's request and asked for permission to take Halo out of the US, as well as requesting her former partner, his family and friends, stop posting about her, their son, and their court drama on all platforms. According to TMZ, the court sided with Halle. In court documents obtained by PEOPLE magazine and other outlets, DDG had accused his former partner of being an "an imminent emotional and psychological risk to the minor child based on repeated, documented threats of self-harm". He alleged that if Halo left the country, the child wouldn't have the protections of the court or any "emergency intervention mechanisms". DDG - whose real name is Daryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. - also claimed Halle has made "repeated threats of suicide and self-harm" and alleged she "routinely used emotional coercion and manipulation to exert her control over me, often threatening me by using self-harm or ending her life" during what has been referred to as an almost three year "on again/off again" relationship. DDG claimed she allegedly "threatened to end her life using my legally owned firearm" in 2023, as well as stalking him during their relationship, and physically and verbally abusing him. He wrote in the filing: "Given these threats to self-harm, I believe the Petitioner is a threat to our son's safety such that she should not be allowed to take Halo out of the country to Italy for a period of two months." In May, Halle was granted temporary sole physical and legal custody of Halo, along with a temporary restraining order which expired in line with a planned court hearing on June 4. She had accused DDG of domestic abuse, while previous court documents obtained by Page Six, saw her allege that she filed for sole custody without notifying DDG because she was "afraid that the violence would reoccur" and that "the other party would take the children out of the area".
