Sam Thompson ‘escorted out of club' by bouncer as date leaves with another man
Sam Thompson fell over and was 'escorted out of a nightclub' by a bouncer after drinking too much following a break-up. The former Made in Chelsea star says he had gone to the club with a girl in a bid to 'make his ex jealous' at the time.
However Sam, 32, says he had too much to drink and found himself being ushered outside. His night though took a dramatic turn when he stumbled on his way out and found himself tumbling to the floor.
On his Staying Relevant podcast with best pal Pete Wicks, Sam explained he then discovered his date for the night was 'hooking up' with someone else at the bar. To make matters worse for Sam, he says his former flame 'stepped over him' on her way out of the bar.
Sam made the revelation after Pete saw a woman falling over in rush hour. Pete explained people were 'literally stepping over' the woman's belongings after she tripped when her heel got stuck.
Sam said: 'I've actually been stepped over before. I've been stepped over by an ex-girlfriend, it was even worse.
'I'd just broken up with an ex-girlfriend and I was in a nightclub and I get p****d very easily and the bouncer ushered me out of the club and, I'd just broken up with this girl, and the girl I'd brought on a date to make her jealous in the nightclub, ended up hooking up with someone else.
'To drown my sorrows I got really p*****d, then got escorted out of the nightclub, they were going, You need to go home, you're too p****d'. Fell over in the little gutter right next to the entrance, she walked out with another guy, and stepped over me.'
Sam went on to explain that his embarrassing moment happened 'years and years and years ago'. The former reality TV star is reportedly dating holistic nutritionist Steph Robinson.
Earlier this year he had been linked to former Love Island star Samie Elishi, but the pair are said to have split a couple of weeks ago. According to the MailOnline, Sam has grown close to Steph, who boasts 170,000 followers on TikTok.
Sam is said to have declared he is 'not ready' to start dating again after his split from Samie. In a previous podcast episode, he said: "I'm going to work on myself. No dating, I'm not ready and I've realised that."
He said his sister Louise hopes he would date someone like Harry Potter star Emma Watson. He added: 'Louise thinks I should go out with Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in Harry Potter."
Pete joked: "I think you have more chance with the ginger fella." Sam then added: "Ron! No, Louise thinks I should go for British thespian because she thinks its a little different, classy is the wrong word, but well to do."
Sam had been in a long-term relationship with former Love Island contestant Zara McDermott, but the pair split last year. Zara has since gone public with her new boyfriend, former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson.

Destination X kicked off on Wednesday night with Rob Brydon as the host, however, not all viewers were impressed with the first episode of the BBC reality show. BBC viewers were united in their reaction on Wednesday evening as Rob Brydon's fresh series Destination X made its debut. The new reality competition show has 13 contestants embarking on an epic European adventure, but there's a twist – not everything is as straightforward as it appears. Aboard the mysterious X-bus with its blacked-out windows, the participants' only task is to deduce their location on the continent by deciphering a trail of clues. Each episode culminates with the contestants marking an X on a map; the one whose guess is furthest from their true location faces elimination. Yet, as the programme began, it seemed that the initial scenes, featuring hopefuls at an airport ready for their enigmatic journey, didn't quite win over all the viewers, reports Wales Online. One viewer expressed disinterest: "No, can't be bothered with this. They all seem annoying." Another was sceptical, posting: "Blatantly a fake airport lounge #DestinationX". A third shared their disbelief, commenting: "Straight away I call shenanigans. No way British people will talk so quickly to strangers in an airport lounge. #DestinationX" One unimpressed comment read: "#DestinationX is a bit s**t so far." However, some viewers were instantly captivated by the show, with one saying: "Giving #DestinationX ago enjoying it so far." Another added praise for the host: "Rob Brydon steals the show in everything he's in. Love him #DestinationX" Throughout the programme, participants were whisked away by helicopter whilst sporting distinctive goggles that obscured their view from the aircraft windows. In a brutal development, three participants faced immediate removal from the contest before even departing the airport, as Rob set them a challenge to locate items bearing specific names with limited tickets up for grabs. Those who failed to secure the required names found themselves heading home empty-handed, losing their shot at the £100,000 prize. Discussing the fresh format, presenter Rob Brydon revealed: "I've never done a TV show on this scale before. I loved the idea of it, the combination of having to work out clues as to where you are and having to get on with each other. However, despite their potential goldmine offer, it's thought it's not all good news for the Sussexes. Their deal with Netflix was reportedly set to come to an end after running out this year. It was said to be bagging the former Royals in the region of £75million. But after less than impressive viewing figures in return for both Meghan's With Love, Meghan series and Harry's documentary about polo, it was suggested the streaming giants were ready to go their separate ways. However, this is said to be far from the truth, with Netflix's boss Ted Sarandos still seemingly keen to work with the pair. According to Mail Online, Ted's support of Meghan can be the pair's "secret weapon". Reporter Alison Bishoff says: "There will be a third series of the Duchess's lifestyle show With Love, Meghan, if she wants to make one. And I hear she does." She claims the duo's link-up with the streamer could see them in line with the huge deal that Barack and Michelle Obama currently hold. And it's said future programmes from the former Suits star could show an inside look into the festive periods of the pair, with any announcement to follow the second series of With Love, Meghan. However, while their on-screen showings are seemingly set to continue, the publication claims their own large team at Archewell Production could see some in-house belt tightening. There had been talk of projects including a rom–com film based on the book Meet Me At The Lake and a retelling of Charles Dickens's Great Expectations being produced by the company. But this may no longer be the case. "Many believe they will just go on ice – forever – as the Sussex team has not yet come up with a script which appeals enough to Netflix bosses Ted Sarandos and Bela Bajaria to get the green light," the Mail says. With Love, Meghan disappointed with a lowly ranking of 383 in Netflix's most-watched titles between January and June 2025. The wholesome series pulled in just 5.3million viewers worldwide since it was first broadcast in March. It showed Meghan cooking, gardening and hosting A-list pals on-screen, but in an embarrassing exchange, repeats of the former actress's old TV drama, Suits, in which she starred before meeting Harry, placed higher. And it was reported earlier in the month that the streaming platform has decided not to renew the contract it holds with the Sussexes once it runs out in a few months time. They are believed to have signed a five-year deal worth around $100million in September 2020. However, despite the rumours, it remains uncertain as to the pair's partnership with the company.
