Delhi MP Bidhuri highlights Modi govt's 11 yrs: Major development plans in pipeline
New Delhi: South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said south Delhi had benefited the most from Modi govt as the national highway from Delhi to Vadodara would soon become the lifeline of the area.
The construction of this new six-lane road, passing through Badarpur, is on at a cost of Rs 7,000 crore. The construction of a flyover at Meethapur Chowk and new bridges on Agra Canal and Gurgaon Canal near Meethapur Chowk has provided great relief to the people passing through south Delhi, he said.
He was holding a press briefing on 11 years of Modi govt. He said the national highway from Delhi to Mumbai would soon be ready, which will be a major gift to the people of Delhi.
The Delhi to Meerut Expressway, the national highway from Akshardham to Dehradun, an alternative route to Haridwar, the new Parliament House and Kartavya Path, the National War Memorial, the National Police War Memorial, Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre at Pragati Maidan, 2,000 electric buses to Delhi under FAME, and the Pragati Maidan Tunnel are among projects funded by Modi govt, he said.
To combat pollution in Delhi, the world's largest eco park was built on 885 acres in Badarpur.

‘You are already finished': Shinde rebukes Thackeray
MUMBAI: The 59th foundation day of the Shiv Sena on Thursday was marked by bitter accusations, taunts and a virtual declaration of war ahead of local body elections in the state. Quoting from Nana Patekar-starrer Prahaar, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray challenged his bête noir Eknath Shinde, saying, 'Come on, kill me!' Uddhav launched his attack at Shanmukhananda Hall, where the Sena (UBT) was celebrating the party's foundation day. Shinde, whose faction of the Sena was celebrating the occasion at the NSCI Dome in Worli, countered Uddhav, declaring that he did not want to kill someone who was 'already finished'. Shinde's speech was largely devoted to slamming Uddhav and emphasising that his faction was the 'original Sena', which was carrying forward the legacy of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray. He said the strike rate of his party was very high. 'In 2014, the (undivided) Shiv Sena contested 282 seats and won 63 seats. In 2019, the (undivided) Shiv Sena contested 124 seats and won 56 seats, and this time (2024), they (Sena-UBT) contested 85 seats and won 20. Of this, many were won with slender margins. Many seats were won due to Congress votes as real Shiv Sena voters had bid goodbye to them. We have confidence, and they (Sena-UBT) have arrogance, which will bring them to another defeat,'' said Shinde. 'They consider BMC as golden goose. Mumbai and its importance is not under threat, but their politics and finances will come under threat as their soul is in the BMC treasury, while our soul is Hindutva. There will be no compromise on it,'' said Shinde. 'Is Hindutva a T-shirt you can wear or remove any time,' he asked, referring to Thackeray's statement that he has not quit Hindutva. However, he did not comment on speculation over the reunion of the estranged Thackeray cousins – Uddhav and Raj Thackeray, chief of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). Challenging Shinde, Uddhav said at Shanmukhananda Hall, 'Come on, kill me,' a line from the Hindi film Prahaar. He added that if they wanted to attack, they must come with an ambulance as they would 'come walking and go back injured'. Shinde countered him, saying mere talk is not enough. 'You need a tiger's heart and strength in your wrist. How can we kill someone who is already dead? People of the state have already finished them in the assembly polls.' On the undivided Sena's legacy, Shinde declared, ''We have the Shiv Sena bow and arrow symbol, and the people's support. We have protected Balasaheb's ideology. 'Balasaheb's ideology is our wealth.' The Sena chief also taunted Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, whose friend, actor Dino Morea, is being interrogated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). 'When Dino opens up, let's see how many people sink.' The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Ajit Pawar, an ally in the Mahayuti coalition, had faced major embarrassment due to the suicide of Vaishali Hagawane, daughter-in-law of NCP leader Rajendra Hagawane. It put Pawar in a particularly awkward position as there were pictures of him handing over the keys to an SUV, part of Vaishnavi's dowry, to her husband Shashank Hagawane. In a damage-control exercise, the Shiv Sena launched a campaign for daughters-in-law. 'Our shakhas will attend to issues faced by daughters-in-law, who face issues at home. We must treat our daughters-in-law like our daughters,'' said Shinde. Shinde said more than 50 corporators from the Sena UBT, from the 2017-22 term, had joined the Sena. 'We are growing,' he declared. In a timely move, three local Sena-UBT leaders joined Shinde's party – Ajit Bhandari (Sena-UBT vibhag pramukh and former corporator), Sanjay Jangam (shakha pramukh) and Vijendra Shinde (former corporator). FGG flags building convention centres near Hyderabad's Gandipet in violation of GO 111; municipality claims no records, forum urges CM Revanth Reddy to act
The Forum for Good Governance has raised concerns over the construction of convention centers near Gandipet lake in Hyderabad, alleging violations of GO 111 HYDERABAD: In apparently a breach of govt order (GO) 111 prohibiting construction around catchment area of Gandipet lake, many convention centres are being built in the area. The issue has been flagged by the Forum for Good Governance (FGG), which said that the Narsingi Municipality has been giving evasive replies to Right to Information (RTI) application seeking information on permission status for these convention centres. "Records do not exist" was the cryptic response by the municipality on whether Neo Convention, Aarya Convention and K Convention applied for or received permission for construction, the FGG said. In its written reply, the Narsingi Municipality stated: "It is to inform that as per the available records, the said constructions were completed way back in the then gram panchayaths and the building permission details are not handed over to Narsingi Municipality during the merging." FGG flags violations In a letter addressed to chief minister A Revanth Reddy, the FGG raised serious objections to the construction of these facilities within 500 metres of the Gandipet lake in violation of GO 111. The letter signed by FGG president M Padmanabha Reddy pointed out that while some of the convention centres were already operational for over a year, others were still under construction. FGG also questioned the absence of house numbers or property tax records for the buildings. "If they were constructed long back, there should have been proper house numbers and regular property tax should have been collected," the letter stated. CM intervention sought FGG urged the CM to initiate a detailed inquiry into the matter, identify officials who allowed the construction to proceed without due process and demolish all illegal structures near the lake. The forum stressed the need to protect Gandipet lake ecosystem and uphold the norms set out in GO 111.

Revnath met Manohar Lal Khattar at his residence in New Delhi on Thursday and briefed him on the importance of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2 project. This project involves a 76.4 km extension to the metro network in order to meet the growing demand for public transport in the fast-developing Hyderabad. The CM emphasised that Phase-2 of the metro project would facilitate hassle-free commuting by reducing congestion on the roads, and would also contribute significantly to sustainable development once completed. He also informed the Union minister that the state govt is ready to undertake the Rs 24,269 crore project as a joint venture with the central govt. The CM said that the detailed project report had already been submitted with the necessary amendments in line with suggestions from the union urban development minister, and requested that the necessary permissions be granted by the relevant departments.
