While Trachtenberg's exact cause of death hasn't been confirmed at the time of writing, a source told TMZ that Trachtenberg underwent a liver transplant before her death and had struggled with alcohol issues for years. She was also out with friends the Thursday before her death at the restaurant Sartiano's in New York City.
Trachtenberg also gave an update on her health the year prior in January 2024 when she addressed speculation around her weight loss on Instagram. 'I've received several comments recently about my appearance. I have never had plastic surgery I am happy and healthy. Check yourself haters,' she wrote at the time.
Before her death, Trachtenberg was best known for starring as Georgina Sparks on The CW's Gossip Girl from 2008 to 2012. She reprised her role for the series' reboot in 2022 and 2023. Trachtenberg was also known for starring as Dawn Summers on The WB's Buffy the Vampire Slayer from 2000 to 2003, as well as Casey Carlyle in the popular Disney Channel original movie Ice Princess in 2005. She made her film debut as Harriet M. Welsch in the 1996 movie Harriet the Spy.
She told Black Film in 2005 about the injuries she sustained while starring in Ice Princess, in which she played a figure skater. 'I tore a couple of ligaments, dislocated knee or so, did a little bit of here and there,' she said at the time.. 'It sounds really bad, but those are all things that happen to athletes.'
In an Instagram post in February 2020, Trachtenberg opened up about the bullying she faced as a kid while supporting her family as a child actor.
'So. It's valentines week. Back in my day all the kids had to write a bullshit Valentine's Day card to everyone in the class. I never got one on purpose, everyone got a valentine card. No one ever gave me one and they thought I didn't need the attention,' she wrote. 'The kids and staff all laughed and thought everyone else should get one, being an actress since I was 3, apparently I didn't need one. No one gave a thought I was helping my family pay bills. I was just the girl on the tv, it was just that their kid wasn't on tv.'
She continued, 'This is challenging for me to post as people always contact me on social media saying oh my brother my sister went to school with you, you were best friends! False. The kids were cruel. There is no need to harp on the past. But I still have scars from being thrown down stairs and slammed into lockers head first. I write this to every child, teen, person, out there who is bullied. You are something. Do not put your value in someone else. Not letting them win, is your win.'
She ended her post by dedicating the Instagram to the teachers who gave her the confidence that took her into adulthood. 'So actually my valentines goes to three teachers who protected me and I think about to this day. Mrs. Vollman (she let me eat lunch in her classroom so the kids wouldn't throw out my food or throw their food at me),' she wrote. 'Mrs. Lighter (who helped me love learning and let me read books in her classroom) Mr. Beckman (he saw I was a writer and challenged me, as a former college professor and wanted to see my writing succeed) Thank you to you all. #Grateful for life.'
Eight years before her own death, Trachtenberg honored her late friend Nick Ackerman — a bassist for the brand The Virgins — who had passed away at a young age.
'I don't normally like to share personal heartbreak on social media. But I had to share the story of one of my closest dearest friend, #nickackerman,' she captioned a photo of the two. 'He was a unique soul, a true friend and someone who was always there for me. He inspired the path my life took in so many ways. Nicky, I spoke to you a few weeks ago, we had plans to get together and laugh about the silly things in our lives. I will forever miss this opportunity to say to you I love you, one more time. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Your influence will forever be remembered in the hearts of everyone who loved you Nicky. Life is short. Fuck the haters. Be grateful for the magic that is being alive. RIP my love. 💔 we will always hear your music in our hearts. 🎶.'

Huma Abedin and Billionaire Alex Soros Host Hamptons Wedding Rehearsal Dinner with Hillary and Bill Clinton in Attendance
Hillary Clinton's former aide Huma Abedin and her fiancé, billionaire Alex Soros, had a wedding rehearsal dinner in the Hamptons on Friday, June 13 Hillary and husband Bill Clinton were both in attendance, and the former secretary of state was photographed chatting with Abedin's 13-year-old son, Jordan Abedin and Alex got engaged in May 2024, and announced the news in July 2024Huma Abedin is in wedding mode! The former aide to Hillary Clinton and her fiancé, billionaire Alex Soros, were all dressed up as loved ones gathered for their rehearsal dinner in the Hamptons on Friday, June 13, according to the Daily Mail, which obtained exclusive photos of the event. Abedin, 48, and Alex, 39, could be seen walking together on a waterfront estate on Shelter Island, N.Y., at the event, held ahead of their upcoming nuptials. The couple — who announced their engagement in July 2024 — walked side by side as someone who appeared to be a photographer followed in tow, one image shows. In another, Alex was photographed wrapping his arm around Abedin's back. For the pre-wedding event, Abedin wore a glittering, champagne-colored gown with flowy sleeves and a high neck, per the Daily Mail's photos. The Both/And: A Life in Many Worlds author paired the neutral-toned dress with matching heels and wore her hair down in a bouncy, side-parted blowout. Alex, the billionaire son of George Soros, complemented his bride-to-be in a tan suit, which he layered over a white shirt and paired with a pair of chunky sunglasses. The rehearsal also teased the star-studded guest list to come, with Hillary, 77, and husband Bill Clinton, 78, in attendance, according to the photos obtained by the Daily Mail. At one point during the festivities, Hillary appeared to chat with Abedin's son, Jordan, whom she shares with her ex-husband, disgraced politician Anthony Weiner. The former secretary of state and Jordan, 13, had a conversation together, just the two of them, one photo shows. Bill, meanwhile, was photographed exiting a vehicle after arriving at the Hamptons estate. The former U.S. president and first lady were surrounded by Secret Service agents at the event, per the Daily Mail. Other photos from the rehearsal dinner show guests mingling outdoors and large tents housing tables covered in floral cloths and a bar cart covered in empty champagne flutes. Abedin and Alex revealed their engagement in a joint Instagram post on July 10, 2024, less than a year after they met. It was later revealed that the billionaire had proposed a few months prior to the official announcement. Alongside a photo of himself on one knee in front of Abedin, Alex wrote: "This happened…we couldn't be happier, more grateful, or more in love ❤️ 😍 💍.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by Alexander Soros, PhD (@alexsoros) The groom-to-be proposed to Abedin "at home in New York City in late May,' and the pair later had "a formal celebration in Italy," according to Vogue. The couple reportedly met in the fall of 2023 at a mutual friend's birthday party, 'where they quickly discovered their mutual interests in politics and public service," per the outlet. While speaking with New York Magazine earlier this year, Alex said that his soon-to-be wife taught him what true love looked like. 'I hadn't been in a relationship for a very long time — 10 years or something like that — that had lasted for more than three months," he said. "And it's, like, the first time I realized I had been mistaking lust for love.' Echoing his sentiments, Abedin told the magazine that she "had never imagined I would meet someone whose life so seamlessly blended with mine.' Read the original article on People

Elon Musk's Daughter Vivian Holds Up a Transgender Pride Flag and Whips Her Hair in Debut Drag Show
Elon Musk and Justine Wilson's daughter Vivian Wilson gave her debut drag performance as Vivllainous in Los Angeles on Friday, June 13 The model performed at Pattie Gonia Presents SAVE HER!, where she wore a skintight black bodysuit, lip-synced to "Wasted Love' by JJ and held a transgender pride flag The charity event raised money for 'legal defense funds supporting immigrants' in the L.A. areaMeet Vivllainous. Vivian Wilson, the 21-year-old daughter of Elon Musk and Justine Wilson, joined the lineup of Pattie Gonia Presents SAVE HER! - An Environmental Drag Show in Los Angeles on Friday, June 13, where she gave her debut drag performance as Vivllainous. The charity show was hosted at The Bellwether by Pattie Gonia to raise money for 'legal defense funds supporting immigrants' in the L.A. area. 'We're using drag to stand in solidarity with detained immigrants, protestors, and everyone raising their voices for justice,' the environmental activist and drag queen wrote of the event on Instagram. For her performance at the show, Vivian sported a sleek, skintight black bodysuit and structured translucent corset, which she complemented with a similarly futuristic makeup look — courtesy of another SAVE HER! performer. Noxxia Datura did the model's makeup for her debut, she revealed in an Instagram post on Saturday, June 14. 'Painted @vivllainous for her drag debut at the SAVE HER! show,' Datura wrote in part, and Vivian replied in the comments: 'Love you so much doll, ty for the faceeeee 🙌🙌.' But the star of the show was Vivian's hip-length hair, which she flipped around onstage while lip-syncing to 'Wasted Love' by Austrian singer JJ, footage from the event shows. She also held up a transgender pride flag at one point, while other event performers were also on the stage. The model reposted several clips of her performance on her Instagram Stories, including one from an audience member who declared that she 'slayed her drag debut' and another who called her hair flips 'lethal.' Another video Vivian shared showed her doing some impressive backbends before falling to her knees during the debut performance. The other performers on the SAVE HER! lineup included Vera!, Nini Coco, Jacob Ostler, Skirt Cocaine and Trudy Tective, according to the event website. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. The June 13 performance comes a few months after Vivian opened up about her identity — and her parents' differing reactions to her coming out as transgender — in a cover story for Teen Vogue. Her mom Justine, 52, was more supportive than her estranged dad, 53, when she confirmed her gender identity to them in 2020, the model and performer recalled in the interview. "She was very supportive of my transition," Vivian told the magazine of her mom. "She is a published writer of supernatural romance fiction, which is where I get all my Vivian-isms." "When I came out to her, she was like, 'Yeah, that figures.' She kind of [pieced it together], so when I came out, she pretended to be slightly surprised for 30 seconds and then was like, 'Yeah, honey. Okay,' " the 21-year-old continued. As for her father, the model told Teen Vogue that the Tesla CEO 'was not as supportive as my mom,' adding: 'First of all, I had not talked to him in months — in months — so I had to get f------ parental consent to get testosterone blockers and [hormone replacement therapy]."
