Broncos 91-man roster going into training camp, sorted by position

USA Today21-07-2025
Welcome back, Denver Broncos football!
Broncos rookies reported last week and veterans are set to report this week ahead of the start of training camp on Friday, July 25. Next month, the team will play three preseason games.
Denver made two changes to the 90*-man offseason roster in recent weeks, swapping out safety Tanner McCalister for UFL cornerback Mario Goodrich.
*Fans should note that the Broncos have an extra 91st spot on the roster because Australian-born punter Jeremy Crawshaw gets an offseason roster exemption as part of the NFL's international player pathway program. With that caveat in mind, here's a look at the team's roster going into training camp this week.

Denver will trim the roster down to 53 players by Aug. 26, then they will build a 16- or 17-player practice squad. Last year, the team's initial practice squad included Burton, Tillman, Bailey and Badie.

How did Baccus fare on return to St Mirren?

Keanu Baccus said he was returning to his "home away from home" after re-joining St Mirren just over a year after leaving for Mansfield Town. Manager Stephen Robinson said the Buddies have "arguably one of the best midfields in the league now", So, how did the Australian international fare on his return to Scottish football, as his side drew 0-0 with Motherwell? Well, two shots on target, a couple of attacking actions in the box, and a team-high nine passes in the final third could well be the start of him trending towards the dynamic midfielder many Paisley punters will remember. Five out of his eight long passes found a team-mate, with 23 of his 31 passes being accurate as he completed 90 minutes in the goalless draw. It was a relatively cagey game, with the visitors dominating the ball, but Baccus and co stood firm and denied them any real sights at goal. A controlled and promising return for Baccus.

Are the Broncos better than last season? Sean Payton gives his take

After the Denver Broncos went 5-12 in 2022, they brought in Sean Payton and improved to 8-9 in 2023. The franchise then followed that up with a 10-7 record in 2024. If that trend continues, the Broncos could be poised for a 12-win season this fall. After the team's 30-9 preseason win over the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday, Denver coach Sean Payton was asked if his squad has improved yet again. "The question was, is this team better than last year?" Payton said. "I think this year's team has a chance to be, but I think the biggest thing we always talk about, you're not ever picking up where you left off, but I do think this year's team has a chance to be better. We've added depth at certain positions we didn't have a year ago. "We were in the largest cap deficit dead money in the history of maybe all of sports, but certainly in the NFL with 90-some million. We're not in that position this year, it's two-thirds of an operating budget, but this team's going have to do that. Same amount of games, one game more, they're going to write this chapter and we're going to all be here for it. And our job's to try to accomplish that, but we're right at the beginning with a lot of work ahead of us.' Not much of a prediction from Payton. The veteran coach has not shied away from talking Super Bowl -- he has clearly set that as a goal for the Broncos -- but Payton's not making any grand predictions to the media. Denver has a "chance" to be better than last season. Eleven wins would be an improvement for their overall record, but winning the division and advancing in the playoffs is the immediate goal, with a Super Bowl title the ultimate goal. There's a lot of work to be done, but the Broncos seem to be trending in the right direction. Social: Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X! Fox announces Week 1 commentators for Broncos vs. Titans game

The Denver Broncos are set to play in five nationally televised games this season, but they certainly aren't getting special coverage each week. Fox Sports announced its Week 1 commentators last week, and the Broncos and Tennessee Titans have been assigned the network's sixth-string crew for their showdown on Sept. 7. Adam Amin (play-by-play) and Mark Sanchez (analyst) will call the Broncos-Titans game for Fox with Kristina Pink reporting from the sideline. The game should have some national intrigue because it is expected to mark rookie quarterback Cam Ward's NFL debut, but Tennessee has the second-lowest over/under projected win total (5.5) this fall. So the Titans probably aren't much of a draw, at least not yet. Denver's getting more national attention after going 10-7 and reaching the NFL playoffs last year, so they might have a game with the No. 1 Fox crew of Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Brady and Erin Andrews later this season. After the Tennessee game, the Broncos have two more Fox games on their 2025 schedule. Social: Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X! Did you know: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.
