3rd wedding, 3rd chili cookoff, 3rd straight Super Bowl for Chiefs
'We both enjoy football; I don't hate his team. He's a Bears fan, I don't care for the Chiefs at all,' said Cindy referencing her Las Vegas Raiders jacket she was married in. 'I would say to have a wedding on Super Bowl Sunday so we can wear our favorite teams and everyone that shows up can wear their favorite team.'
Cindy and Rob's original plan was to get married on 05/25/25 at 5:25 p.m. but it didn't end up working out so they figured they would tie the knot sooner. And where better to get married for the third time then at her brother-in-law's Third Annual Chili Cookoff, in honor of the Chiefs attempt at winning three Super Bowls in a row?

'I'm no good at remembering dates per se,' said Cindy. 'So, when the Super Bowl comes around whether it's going to be on February 3rd, the 5th, the 11th, at least it'll be the Super Bowl. Then I'll know it's my anniversary. So whatever today's date is, don't care. It's the Super Bowl.'
The wedding has been planned for three weeks, but this morning the couple had to audible to find a new ordained minister.
'His (Rob's) brother was supposed to do the ceremony. He's an ordained minister,' said Cindy. 'Well, he tumbled down the stairs this morning and broke his ankle, so he went by ambulance to Newton. So, somebody dug up this minister over here, I don't know who she is but it's nice she came on such short notice.'
And even though it's the Chiefs chance to do something that has never been done in the league… the couple cut a cake decorated half Raiders, half Bears in true NFL fan fashion.

Reports: Eagles acquire CB Jakorian Bennett from Raiders
The Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles added depth to a solid secondary, acquiring cornerback Jakorian Bennett in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, multiple media outlets reported Monday night. The Raiders reportedly received reserve defensive tackle Thomas Booker IV in the swap. Bennett, 24, appeared in 10 games for Las Vegas last season, making seven stops. He finished with 26 tackles and eight passes defensed. A fourth-round draft pick in 2023 out of Maryland, Bennett played in 14 games and started four times as a rookie. In his two seasons overall, he has 58 tackles and 11 passes defensed. Booker, 25, appeared in every regular-season game for Philadelphia last year, starting once. However, he was in on only 17 percent of the Eagles' defensive plays and seven percent of the special teams snaps. He had 18 tackles, one sack and one pass defense. The Texans made him a fifth-round pick out of Stanford in 2022. He appeared in 10 games (one start) for Houston that year -- his lone NFL experience before 2024. For the Texans, he recorded 15 tackles, 0.5 sacks and one pass defensed. The Eagles open the preseason on Thursday against the visiting Cincinnati Bengals, then officially start defense of their title against the visiting Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 4. Eagles' Saquon Barkley says he's not part of Trump's sports council: ‘Definitely a little shocked when my name was mentioned'
Philadelphia Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley said Monday he was surprised to learn he had been named to the President's Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition because he had turned down the opportunity earlier this year. Barkley is one of several top athletes who President Donald Trump named to the revamped council that the president unveiled at a White House event last week. When asked about his appointment on Monday, Barkley said he doesn't plan to participate. 'Couple months ago it was brought to my team about the council. So, I'm not really too familiar with it. I felt like I'm going to be super busy so, me and my family thought it was probably in the best interest to not accept that,' Barkley told reporters. 'So, was definitely a little shocked when my name was mentioned. I'm assuming it's something great, so I appreciate it, but was a little shocked my name was mentioned.' CNN has reached out to the White House for a response to Barkley's comments. Barkley and the president are on friendly terms. He was seen spending time with Trump a day before the team's scheduled visit to the White House to celebrate their recent Super Bowl victory. Trump approached the reporters assembled at the airport, saying about Barkley: 'What a nice guy.' He added: 'I wanted to race him, but I decided not to do it.' The pair later boarded Air Force One. In April, pictures on social media showed Barkley and Trump at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, with multiple 'Make America Great Again' hats sitting on the table. Barkley used social media to respond to criticism over his decision to meet and play golf with Trump. 'Lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT,' he said on X. 'Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago … and look forward to finishing my round with Trump! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have amazing day.' The other athletes named by the White House as being appointed to the council include golfer Bryson DeChambeau, who will serve as chair; NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, San Francisco 49ers defensive star Nick Bosa; Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker; and former college football player Cody Campbell, who is also the head of Texas Tech's Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) collective and has been a key voice contributing to Trump's policies on college sports. Broncos' Sean Payton makes brass Bo Nix prediction for ‘next two years'
Everyone needs a boss to believe in them and Bo Nix certainly does. Broncos head coach Sean Payton has trust in his young quarterback — a lot of it. 'He's going to be one of the top four or five quarterbacks in the league the next two years,' Payton said in an interview with Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson. 'That's what we're seeing right now. He doesn't take sacks. He's got exceptional arm strength. … He threw the longest ball — (67) air yards against Cincinnati. He can run. AP Nix showed some tremendous flashes as a rookie, finishing his 17 games with 3,775 yards, 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, adding 430 yards and four touchdowns on the ground, too. In college, Nix spent three seasons at Auburn and two with Oregon. His final season with the Ducks was when he truly exploded to stardom, as he threw for 45 touchdowns with just three interceptions en route to a third-place Heisman Trophy finish. Nix led the nation in completions and completion percentage at 364 and 77.4, respectively. While he was the 12th pick in the 2024 draft, there were still five other quarterbacks taken ahead of him — Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, Michael Penix and JJ McCarthy. 3 Bo Nix is looking for a second-year leap this upcoming season after a promising rookie campaign. Nix was the second-most successful rookie of the bunch last season, leading the Broncos to a 10-7 record and a playoff berth, a better outcome than any rookie quarterback and their team aside from Daniels and the Commanders. Led by the 25-year-old quarterback, Payton has high hopes for the entire team, not just Nix. 3 Sean Payton is entering his third season as the Broncos' head coach. AP 'The short-term goal is winning the division,' he said. 'But this is a team capable of winning the Super Bowl. I've coached six teams that I thought could win the Super Bowl. Some went to championship games, some to the playoffs … This is my seventh team that I think has that.' Payton coached the Saints for 15 years and won one Super Bowl. He was the offensive mastermind who helped Drew Brees thrive as an all-time great quarterback.
