Dune 3 gets an exciting filming update which will reassure fans

Yahoo05-06-2025
Dune fans who are eagerly awaiting the third instalment will be pleased to hear that filming should be underway very, very soon.
According to Deadline, filming on Dune 3 will begin in July which tracks with previous reports that the production was aiming for a summer start.
Last July Dune 3's release date was confirmed for 18 December, 2026 and hopefully the film should still be on track to come out as planned.
Dune 3 will see Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya and Florence Pugh all returning to the franchise.
Pugh's character Princess Irulan is expected to take on a bigger role in the third instalment with director Denis Villeneuve previously comparing her importance to Zendaya's character Chani.

He told Moviefone: "Of course, if there's a Dune Messiah as we plan, [Irulan will] become one of the prominent characters of that whole series. I'm doing a bit of what I did with Zendaya in the first movie.
"I introduced Chani in Dune and then she becomes one of the main characters in Part Two. I do the same with Florence, I just introduced her in Part Two and if there's a Dune Messiah, she becomes one of the main characters."
One more surprising name that will also be back is Jason Momoa whose character Duncan Idaho died in the first movie and was not present in the second.

Dune 3 will adapt Frank Herbert's 1969 novel Dune Messiah where Momoa's character Idaho is cloned and brought back to life as an artificially created human known as a ghola.
The cast of Dune 3 may also have a big name addition as in April it was reported that Robert Pattinson had been offered a role, though his casting has not yet been confirmed.
Dune 3 will be released on December 18, 2026. Dune: Part Two is available to buy in the UK from , , and more.

Jason Momoa reveals feelings on son getting cast in upcoming Dune film after initial fears

Actor Jason Momoa, famous for playing 'Aquaman' and the barbarian warlord Khal Drogo in 'Game of Thrones,' revealed on Monday how he changed his mind about his son joining the film industry and getting cast in an upcoming 'Dune' sequel. Momoa spoke on the 'SmartLess' podcast about how he was initially hesitant about allowing his teenage son, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, to join the acting industry. Advertisement 'I'm like, 'You're never acting. There's no way I'm let – I'm not letting you act,'' he said, reflecting on his son's earlier acting ambitions after having done school plays. 'I'm just like, 'I don't want my kid [to be a] child actor. I don't want you in this business. Blah blah blah.' At age 16, a revelation occurred, however, when the Game of Thrones alumni planned to bring his son with him to the set of Denis Villeneuve's 'Dune' films. 'So, cut to, I'm like, 'He's 16. I really want – it's time for my son to be with me and travel,' Momoa recalled, sharing how his son wanted to learn more about acting. Momoa argued that bringing his son could instill a work ethic 'like mine of the Midwest.' Long hours of action scenes in heavy body armor are no cakewalk, Momoa said, 'It's not digging ditches, but it's f—ing hard.' Did Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner Break Up?

Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner haven't been seen together for a minute and fans are convinced they've split. The "proof"? Per The Sun, mostly the fact that Kylie's been posting breakup songs to her Instagram Stories, including Jeff Buckley's "Lover, You Should've Come Over" and Labi Saffre's "Crying, Laughing, Loving, Lying." Hmmm. While this is definitely suspicious, there are a few things people on Reddit have pointed out that are very valid! 1) a new Jeff Buckley doc came out around when Kylie posted that ^ so she might have just been shouting it out. 2) This particular Jeff Buckley song has been trending on TikTok, so it's possible Kylie is just a fan. As for the Labi Saffre song, Kylie posted it with the caption "And don't come for me with the volume it's connected to my car speakers" and then seemingly deleted the post. Meanwhile, Timothée wasn't in attendance at Kylie's birthday party this past weekend—but that could be because he's, you know, busy filming the new Dune movie. Something that was made abundantly clear by a source who spoke to People after Kylie and Timothée's trip to St. Tropez earlier this summer. The insider noted that Kylie and Timmy are "used to this kind of schedule," that Kylie "will fly to see him when she can" while Dune is in production, and that "they're still very happy and just making it work." They added that Timothée "knows the next few months will be exhausting, so he's taking a moment to just relax and reset." Another insider said that the "long, demanding shoot" will take Timothée "all over the world," so it's not exactly surprising that he and Kylie haven't been spotted together in a moment!
