Kevin Feige Spills Tea On Next 7 Years Of Marvel Movies; Anne Hathaway Shares First Look At 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'
From the streets of New York City to the grand multiverse – here's what you need to know about two surefire blockbusters currently in development!
Anne Hathaway Shares BTS Pix Of 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'
After almost two decades of waiting, we're finally getting our first look at the much-awaited sequel to the beloved comedy/drama 'The Devil Wears Prada'.
In these brief glimpses, not only do we get to see the lead star Anne Hathaway reprise her role as Andy Sachs, but they also clue us in on what to look out for.
In her Instagram post, Hathaway can be seen posing right by a massive number '2' statue, rocking a patterned dress and a tan bucket hat. We can also see her wear this exact outfit in one of the early photos taken by BACKGRID, alongside a hanger bag that reads 'Runway', suggesting her return to the iconic fictional publication.
'The Princess Diaries' star also doubled down by posting an additional photo of her showcasing a pinstripe sleeveless vest with matching pants. We also see her strike a nostalgic pose while on the phone – many fans were quick to notice the resemblance and rightfully responded by creating memes about the iconic moment.
For those who are not familiar with the plot, it centres on Andy, a budding journalist who accepts a position at a fashion magazine, but is ultimately controlled by her demanding editor, Meryl Streep's Miranda Priestly.
The sequel will see the two actors reprise their roles, with the plot centring on Priestly struggling to stay afloat with the decline of traditional magazine publishing amidst the rise of its digital counterpart. She is also facing friction with people like Emily Blunt's Emily Charlton, Miranda's former assistant-turned-ultra-powerful exec for a luxury advertising company. Nostalgia be damned, as we will also be seeing an injection of fresh, new faces, such as Kenneth Branagh, who will be playing Miranda's husband.
Unfortunately, however, we do not know more than that, as the cast remains tight-lipped about any more details outside of what 20th Century Studios said in its press release. We can expect the cast and crew to drip-feed us more information in the coming months, though, as we draw closer to its 1st May, 2026 release date.
Kevin Feige's 'Seven-Year Plan' Includes 'X-Men,' 'Blade' & Other Future Titles
To say this is a big month for Marvel would be a gross understatement. The highly anticipated summer blockbuster 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' is just a few days away from its theatrical release — and to say it is the most important movie since 'Avengers: Endgame' (and will affect the MCU as a whole) might be another understatement. Despite this, the entertainment company is already gearing up for what's next in the company's timeline.
Earlier this week, Marvel boss Kevin Feige invited several big-name US-based news outlets to the Marvel headquarters for a sit-down conversation where they discussed the company's next step moving forward. At this private yet casual function, the Marvel president teased his 'seven-year plan' that will run all the way until 2032. In it, several familiar titles, such as 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' (Summer 2026), 'Avengers: Doomsday' (2026), and 'Avengers: Secret Wars' (2027), remain unchanged.
However, Feige said that although there is still a plan, outside of the three aforementioned titles, nothing is set in stone for now. One of these is the possibility of the Mahershala Ali-led 'Blade' movie finally seeing the light of day, following several pushbacks and being left alone in development purgatory. 'You can start and have a good script and make it a great script through production, but we didn't feel confident we could do that on 'Blade'.' Feige reasoned when discussing the postponed film.
Following that would be the X-Men title, which is rumoured to arrive after 'Secret Wars'. There, Feige mentioned that it will somewhat 'reset' the timeline after the whirlwind of events that transpired during the Multiverse Saga. Following that blockbuster, Feige said they will go back to working with a 'singular timeline'. However, he did not elaborate as to why Marvel will be moving forward with that plan – but we can speculate that it is to correct the course and focus in on the mutant storyline.
As for 'X-Men' itself, he did not reveal more than what we already know, such as that Jake Schreier will be directing the film. He also did not share where X-Men will fit in on all this, pre- or post-timeline reset. With so much at stake as well as the timing, we can not easily write this off as mere coincidence. And as many Marvel movies have done before, the answer may lie in the upcoming 'Fantastic Four' movie.

Dancer Lee Kai Yin shares first photo of face since Mirror accident in 2022
Lee Kai Yin (right) uploaded a recent photo of himself (left) on social media on July 23. Photos: Lee Kai Yin/Instagram Hong Kong dancer Lee Kai Yin has shared a close-up photo of himself for the first time in three years. The 30-year-old, also known as Ah Mo, was critically injured in July 2022 when a giant LED screen fell on him during a concert by popular Hong Kong boy band Mirror at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Lee suffered a severe spinal injury and was in critical condition for more than a month. Reports then said he faced the possibility of being paralysed from the neck down. Hong Kong media said he has left the territory to continue his treatment overseas. On July 23, Lee posted on Instagram several photos, including one of himself in a wheelchair. Although filters were used on the face, the tattoos on his chest and one of his arms matched those in old photos of him. A scar was seen near his collarbone in the latest photo, which was probably caused by a tracheostomy tube in his neck. 'It's me!' he wrote in English, before adding in Chinese: 'I was encouraged by what the daughter of an optical shop owner said yesterday, so I'm going to share some of the little things which made me feel good lately and see if I can pick up energy from you all.' He posted a picture of the items on his table – including K-pop girl group NewJeans' official light stick and three Teletubbies figures – two photos of a sunset and two artificial intelligence-generated pictures of his cats. His girlfriend So Ching, a former member of Hong Kong girl group Collar, shared his post on Instagram Stories, writing: 'If I were half as strong as him.' In December 2024, Lee posted on Instagram his first photo of himself in hospital showing only his hand, while his father, pastor Derek Li, was beside him. 'Probably the only human being who loves me so much and actually cares about my every nanometer bit of improvement every single day,' Lee wrote then. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network

Pro wrestling legend Hulk Hogan dies at 71 after cardiac arrest at Florida home
MIAMI, July 25 — Hulk Hogan, the 1980s icon of professional wrestling who helped propel the low-budget spectacle into the global spotlight and parlayed his prowess in the ring into pop culture stardom, died yesterday. He was 71. Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, was pronounced dead at a Florida hospital after emergency personnel responded to a cardiac arrest call at his home in Clearwater, police said. The Hall of Fame talent — known for his towering 6′7″ (two-metre) physique, bandana and blond handlebar moustache — was ubiquitous during his heyday, acting in film and television, appearing in video games and promoting a range of products. He also courted his share of controversy, first when a sex tape featuring him leaked, and again when a recording of him using racist language, including a slur referring to Black Americans, resurfaced in 2015. In recent years, Hogan became an avid supporter of US President Donald Trump. 'One of pop culture's most recognisable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s,' World Wrestling Entertainment said on social media. 'WWE extends its condolences to Hogan's family, friends, and fans.' Hogan's wrestling skills and magnetic personality as a heroic all-American in the ring transformed the sport into mainstream family entertainment, attracting millions of viewers and turning the league into a multi-billion-dollar empire. 'Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business. An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend, And Father!' fellow Hall of Famer Ric Flair said on social media. 'R.I.P Hulkster, thank you for opening up doors for so many people in the business including myself,' said retired pro and Olympic champion Kurt Angle. From local gym to Hall of Fame Hogan was born on August 11, 1953 in the southern US state of Georgia to a construction worker father and a dance teacher mother. The family moved to Florida when he was a toddler. After dropping out of university, Hogan was spotted at his gym by local wrestlers and was quickly swept into competitions. His nickname came about in part because of comparisons to the Marvel superhero The Incredible Hulk, featured at the time in a television series. He first competed in 1979 in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now known as WWE) but became a mainstay and fan favourite in the mid-1980s alongside others like Andre the Giant and 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper. At age 48 in 2002, in the waning days of his competitive career, he even battled Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. His brand of 'Hulkamania' transferred to the small and big screen, with roles in films such as 'Rocky III,' 'No Holds Barred' and TV's 'Baywatch.' 'He was absolutely wonderful and his amazing skill made Rocky three incredibly special. My heart breaks,' said 'Rocky' star Sylvester Stallone. Hogan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005. But the scandal over his use of racial slurs led to his firing from WWE in 2015. He later apologised for his actions and was reinstated to the Hall of Fame. When a tape emerged of Hogan having sex with a woman who was not his wife in 2012, he filed suit against Gawker Media and won a US$140 million judgment for invasion of privacy. He eventually accepted a settlement of US$31 million, but the case divided media and press freedom advocates after it was revealed that Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel had funded Hogan's case as part of an effort to drive Gawker out of business. Gawker shut its site down months after the verdict. 'Great friend' Hogan memorably appeared at the 2024 Republican National Convention that would seal Trump's nomination — tearing his shirt off to reveal a Trump-Vance tank top. 'We lost a great friend today, the 'Hulkster.' Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way — Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart,' Trump said on social media. 'He gave an absolutely electric speech at the Republican National Convention, that was one of the highlights of the entire week. He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive.' Hogan suffered numerous health problems in later years, stemming from the years of abuse his body took in the ring. In the 1990s, he admitted under oath that he had used anabolic steroids at the peak of his career. He was married three times, and had two children with his first wife Linda. — AFP
