Gene Gallagher reveals his VERY down-to earth rider request as he prepares to support his father Liam on Oasis tour

Daily Mail04-07-2025
Gene Gallagher is gearing up to support his father and uncle on their reunion tour - and he'll be greeted with a very humble rider request at each stadium.
Liam Gallagher 's youngest son Gene, 24, based in London, is said to be one of the acts supporting Oasis on their sell-out reunion tour with indie rock group Villanelle, which he fronts.
Before news broke, Gene reportedly confided in friends that he will be one of ten warm-up acts when his father, 52, and uncle Noel, 58, take to the stage.
An insider told MailOnline at the time: 'Gene is supporting Oasis. He's been telling a few people and he's really excited. He loves playing with his dad and knows it will be huge for his music career.'
And now that Gene's upgrading from small, local venues to stadiums welcoming thousands, he'll be able to reap the benefits - including putting his pre-show requests in a rider.
But in a 2024 interview with The Face, the singer revealed his down to earth requirements, which include Birds Eye fish fingers and premium lager.
He said after doing a local gig in Nottingham, 'For these shows, it's usually just beer they give us. But for the Definitely Maybe shows, I'm gonna get some fish finger sandwiches on there.
'I'm craving those. The proper orange, Birds Eye ones – with ketchup. And some premium lagers – Asahi.'
Discussing his career hopes, Gene, who is from Liam's six-year marriage to the All Saints singer Nicole Appleton, previously said: 'I want to be the biggest band in the world.'
Gene is no stranger to life on the road, and his band spent much of last year touring small UK venues.
The Mail revealed Gene and his cousin, Anaïs, 24, who is Noel's daughter, played a major part in reuniting the warring brothers for the tour - 15 years after they last played together.
Liam's time with his youngest son brought them closer together and a source said: 'Liam has seen the passion the younger generation have for the Oasis tracks. Some of them weren't even born when the band split.
'It hadn't dawned on Noel and Liam until recently that their own kids had never properly seen them together. They didn't want to wait until it was too late to show them why they are Britain's biggest band.'
Meanwhile, Gene's older half-brother, Lennon, from Liam's marriage to the actress Patsy Kensit, and his band, Automotion, have not been called up to support their father.
Speaking about his sons' bands in 2019, the Live Forever singer said: 'They're both eyeing each other up... from across the room. Gene has got a little band and Lennon has got a little band, they're sort of working it out.
'Lennon's music is a bit more spaced out, like early Verve, pretty chilled. Whereas Gene is more like in-your-face, Arctic Monkeys style. Go for it I say.'
After 15 years, the brothers will finally reunite for 41 shows across Europe and the 900,000 fans who have eagerly snapped up tickets will not be disappointed with the set list which is crammed with the nineties band's classics.
Opening with Acquiesce - a song from their first 1995 album, they will follow with Morning Glory the titular song of the second studio album with Supersonic playing sixth.
Elsewhere Liam and Noel will play Half the World Away, Slide Away, Live Forever before finishing with their three most popular songs Don't Look Back in Anger, Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova.
And ahead of the highly-anticipated evening, footage and pictures from a special drone show over Cardiff Principality enticed.
The duo lit up the sky with brightly coloured drones which spelt out the word 'OASIS'.
It comes after a supermarket is celebrating the long anticipated Oasis comeback with a very special tribute to the Britpop band - and it's sure to catch the attention of devoted fans.
Tapping into the musicians' northern roots, Aldi has rebranded one of its locations in Manchester to be pronounced with the distinctive Mancunian accent Noel and Liam Gallagher are known and loved for.
The store - now labelled as 'Aldeh' to signal a phonetic change - is sure to delight shoppers in the Bury New Road store in Prestwich, where many will likely be stopping by ahead of the group's concert in nearby Heaton Park, taking place from 11th to 20th of July.
The performances, kicking off this weekend, have come after years of reunion rumours repeatedly squashed by the notoriously feuding musicians.
Oasis kick off their reunion gigs on 4th July, and will be playing in their home city at Heaton Park from 11th –20th July.
'Manchester is a vibrant city with a rich musical history, and with the Oasis reunion, we wanted to mark the occasion,' said Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK.
'By temporarily renaming our Bury New Road store to "Aldeh", we're celebrating both the local dialect and the legendary band that has brought so much joy to fans worldwide.'
As part of the Oasis celebrations, the supermarket has also launched a new range of Aldimania Bucket Hats (£4.99) which will be on sale in stores nationwide from 3rd July, while stocks last.

Liam Gallagher shares huge life update during Oasis' Croke Park concert

Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has made a candid admission about his sobriety as Oasis kicked off their first gig at Dublin's historic Croke Park on Saturday night Liam Gallagher made a 'sober' confession as Oasis launched their gig at Croke Park on Saturday night (August 16). After already taking Cardiff, Heaton Park, Wembley Stadium and Murrayfield Stadium by storm, the Gallagher brothers returned to Ireland for the first time since 2008. ‌ The last time Oasis performed in the country where they once had a holiday home was at Slane Castle, Ireland's largest music venue. Their two sold-out nights in Dublin were hosted at the home of the GAA, the sports federation responsible for Gaelic football and hurling. ‌ With over 160,000 tickets snapped up, many Irish fans were left disappointed in their attempts to secure the coveted tickets last year, reports the Manchester Evening News. Excitement was mounting throughout the city all day, with plenty of bucket hats being worn to combat the sun and high temperatures. It comes after Lennon decided to snub the Dublin concerts and jetted to Ibiza. ‌ Once again, The Verve's Richard Ashcroft served as the opening act, who managed to down a pint of Guinness in one gulp, choosing not to split the G. Following the same set-list used at all their gigs so far, Oasis kicked off their show with Hello, before diving into Acquiesce and Morning Glory. Liam donned his signature green Kangol, while Noel wore a crisp white shirt, as the younger brother announced 'Dublin City in the area'. Before performing Some Might Say, Liam took a moment to reflect on playing in Croke Park for the first time. He said: "I think I'm a Croke Park virgin! We haven't played here before, have we? All I do know [is] this [is] the soberest I've been in Ireland since I was about four or five or something like that," he said. Whilst Liam is correct in saying it was his maiden appearance at the venue, Noel had previously backed U2 with his High Flying Birds in 2017. Later during the evening, Liam challenged the audience's clapping and Mexican waves just moments after hailing them as 'lunatics'. "I never asked you to clap out of time or do a Mexican wave. But you've gotta turn around and put your arms up and jump up and down like you don't care. If I can do it, so can you," he quipped.

Noel Gallagher 'writing new music' amid triumphant Oasis reunion

Noel Gallagher could be writing new Oasis music following the band's triumphant reunion. The singer, 58, and younger brother Liam Gallagher, 52, hadn't performed together since their 2009 split, meaning the world was, quite literally, sent into a frenzy last August when they confirmed the guns had 'fallen silent'. Oasis have since played shows in Cardiff, Manchester, and London, treating fans to their biggest hits from across the band's discography, but many have questioned whether a new album could be on its way now that the band is back. Now, a source has claimed to The Mirror that the musician is penning new music, but it has not been confirmed whether or not it is to be performed by Oasis. 'Noel has been inspired by playing to adoring crowds, who have supercharged his creativity,' an insider claimed. 'But he is undecided whether his work will become a new album for Oasis with Liam on vocals.' The source said that Noel, who leads High Flying Birds and has also released music as a solo artist, is 'waiting to see how things play out' while performing alongside his brother. 'Noel has been in an absolutely fine mood… greeting staff with smiles, super relaxed and sharing his joy about the shows,' they continued. 'He's also been strumming some new tunes in his dressing room. But, from what he has said, these tracks are not yet aligned for any project. 'There is no Oasis studio return as yet agreed by the band, and they still have a long way to go. Things are great now, but who knows what will happen given the brothers' past troubles on the road.' Earlier this year, however, the band's manager quelled hopes for a new Oasis record. Speaking to Music Week, Alec McKinlay said: 'This is very much the last time around, as Noel's made clear in the press. 'It's a chance for fans who haven't seen the band to see them, or at least for some of them to … there's no plan for any new music.' Last month, Happy Mondays star Bez claimed the brothers could make one more album before retiring. More Trending 'They could make another album,' he told The Mirror. 'I can't see why they wouldn't do it because I'm sure it'd be a worldwide hit to bring another album out after the reception they got. 'You know, what a retirement plan, if that's the last thing you do. I'm sure they'd go for the retirement plan. If they don't, they're mad!' Oasis has released seven studio albums, with the last, Dig Out Your Soul, hitting shelves in 2008. This year marks the 30th anniversary of their sophomore release, (What's The Story) Morning Glory?, which features the singles Some Might Say, Roll With It, Morning Glory, Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger, and Champagne Supernova. Georgia Toffolo looks carefree as she shares sizzling bikini-clad snaps during sunny Marbella getaway with husband James Watt amid BrewDog founder's business woes

Georgia Toffolo flaunted her toned figure in a skimpy bikini as she relaxed at the beach while on holiday in Marbella with husband James Watt. The Made In Chelsea star, 30, took to her Instagram on Sunday to share a slew of sizzling snaps of her soaking up the sun in a tiny navy blue two-piece. Displaying her chiselled midriff and long legs, she stretched out on a deckchair with her feet in the surf to top up her bronzed glow. Georgia also slipped into a semi-sheer maxi skirt and grabbed a hand-held fan to pose for a string of stunning photos on the luxury getaway. Taking to the caption, she raved about her relaxation day and offered tips to her followers, writing: 'This and not knowing what day it is! P.S. take this as a sign to buy a beach chair like the locals have. YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!!!' Georgia looked utterly carefree in the snaps, despite her husband James' company being hit by another major blow. It has been revealed that BrewDog's beers have been axed by almost 2,000 pubs across Britain, as the embattled brewers' popularity continues to wane. James founded the company in 2007 by with Martin Dickie, with firm rising to prominence in the 2010s amid a surge in demand for independent beers and hoppy IPAs. However in recent years, the company's fortunes have started to turn, with their range of draught beers having disappeared entirely from around 1,860 pubs in the last two years, according to private industry data. The blow means BrewDog's UK distribution has been cut by more than a third. It also shows that its best-known beer, Punk IPA, has suffered the worst loss after being removed from 1,980 pubs – a 52 per cent decline in distribution. Pubs are now reducing their offerings or opting for rival beers such as Camden Town and Beavertown instead. The data, which was seen by the Telegraph, revealed most of the pubs scrapping BrewDog beers are part of large chains, removing a key source of revenue for the brewer at the same time as it struggles to revive its fortunes. BrewDog recorded losses of £59m in 2023 and £30.5m in 2022, with its CEO admitting in a recent interview that the company would be making another loss this year. It has been revealed that BrewDog's beers have been axed by almost 2,000 pubs across Britain, as the embattled brewers' popularity continues to wane (James pictured in BrewDog's) Last month, the company announced the closure of 10 of its own branded bars across the UK, including its flagship site in Aberdeen, after deciding they were not 'commercially viable'. And the chain had started the year by closing six pubs across the world, including two in England, three in Europe and one in England. The firm is continuing to weather accusations of an image problem after ditching its claim to be 'carbon negative' after it ditched offsetting schemes that it claimed were both too expensive and not efficient enough to justify the label. It had already been criticised for using the label by advertising watchdogs, and was slammed by environmentalists for its claim of creating a carbon-negative forest in Scotland after it was revealed that half of the 500,000 saplings had already died. BrewDog's reputation has taken a hammering in recent years after being embroiled in a number of publicity storms. The firm was accused by former workers in an open letter in 2021 of having a 'culture of fear' within the business, with 'toxic attitudes' towards junior staff, with BrewDog apologising and promising to 'listen, learn and act' James later admitted to being 'too intense and demanding' amid a workplace culture row where he was accused of inappropriate behaviour and abusing his power. Speaking with on Steven Bartlett's Diary of a CEO podcast about his leadership, he admitted to previously pushing people 'too far' because of his 'high standards', but insisted that his actions were done with '100 per cent good intentions.' James then stepped back from the role of CEO in May 2024 amidst a flurry of accusations of improper conduct, being replaced by current CEO James Taylor. He left three months after Ofcom rejected a complaint he had lodged against the BBC after it made a documentary outlining misconduct allegations. The self-described BrewDog 'Captain' faced a number of improper conduct allegations in 2021 concerning female staff, and was revealed to have invested in Heineken, contrasting with his brewery's anti-establishment 'punk' image. James denied claims that he made female bartenders feel 'uncomfortable' and 'powerless' and that he would take intoxicated women on private late-night tours of the brewery. He went on to tie the knot with Georgia earlier this year, onboard a fishing boat just off the coast of the picturesque town of Gardenstown in Aberdeenshire. The pair got engaged in October after the millionaire proposed with an eight carat triple-diamond studded band estimated to be worth £200,000, while on holiday in Greece for Georgia's 30th birthday. In May, it was revealed the pair are worth a staggering £425 million, according to The Sunday Times, overtaking the likes of Ed Sheeran, Lord Sainsburys, Harry Styles and Lewis Hamilton.
