'Legend' Muslera bids farewell to Galatasaray after 551 appearances
Uruguayan international goalkeeper Fernando Muslera made his departure from Galatasaray official on Thursday when he announced that, after 14 seasons with the Turkish club, he would continue his career in South America.
The Uruguayan, who turns 39 on June 16, told a press conference that he will play his 551st and final game for Galatasaray in Friday evening's Super Lig season-ender against Basaksehir.

"I'm going to continue playing, closer to my homeland... closer to my family," said Muslera, without specifying which league or club he would play for.
Since joining from Lazio, with whom he won the Coppa Italia, in 2011, Muslera has become the most capped foreign player in Galatasaray's history.
The Uruguayan has also won a joint-record eight league titles as well as six Turkish Super Cups and five Turkish Cups.
In a message on social networks, Galatasaray hailed their captain, a club "legend", saying he had become "much more than a goalkeeper".
Capped 133 times by Uruguay, he was starting keeper at the 2010, 2014 and 2018 World Cups before dropping to the bench for the 2022 event in Qatar.

How Galatasaray could hand Barcelona an unexpected transfer boost
La Liga champions Barcelona could be afforded an incoming boost on the financial front by way of Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray. That's according to Sempre Barca, who have revealed fresh interest in Iñaki Peña on Gala's part. Shot-stopper Peña is of course widely expected to be on the move before the summer is out, having continued to tumble down the pecking order between the posts in Hansi Flick's squad following the arrival of Joan García. To date, reports had largely suggested that a contract termination was the most likely outcome between the parties. As alluded to above, however, if the latest word stemming from the media this weekend is anything to go by, then Barcelona could yet secure a considerable fee for Peña's services. As per a report from the aforementioned : 'With a deal for (Manchester City star) Ederson becoming increasingly unlikely, sources have informed Sempre Barca that Galatasaray could shift their focus to a familiar face — Barcelona goalkeeper Iñaki Peña.' Peña for his part previously spent time on the books at RAMS Park, during a loan spell back in the 2022/23 campaign. And a reunion could well be on the cards between the parties this summer, amid further claims that Galatasaray are ready to offer up €8-10 million for the 26-year-old. Conor Laird – GSFN

Report – Al-Nassr Sound Out Move For Inter Milan Midfielder
Al-Nassr have reportedly sounded out a move with the entourage of Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu. This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, via FCInterNews. Galatasaray had reportedly been keen to sign the 31-year-old former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder. However, the Gazzetta report that the Istanbul giants did not even make Inter an official offer. A deal for Calhanoglu would simply have been out of reach financially for Galatasaray. For one thing, the Turkish international was insisting on a wage increase from the €7.5 million net per season plus add-ons he earns at Inter. And he wanted at least a three-year deal. Then, convincing Inter with an offer would have been no mean feat. Reports indicate that Inter would want a fee in the region of €35-40 million for Calhanoglu.
