The Neighborhood's Malcolm-and-Marty spinoff didn't get the green light, but CBS is still giving viewers a glimpse of the show they would have seen this fall.
The untitled offshoot, which was being eyed for the 2025-26 TV season, would have seen Calvin and Tina's adult sons 'embark on new adventures, finally leaving their parents' nest to start the next chapter of their lives,' according to a previously released logline.

A backdoor pilot will air as planned on Monday, May 5 at 8:30/7:30c on CBS, and serve as the second half of The Neighborhood's hour-long Season 7 finale.
On Thursday, the network released a selection of photos from the episode, which you can see below:
In the episode, titled 'Welcome to Venice,' the Butlers and Johnsons help Malcolm (Sheaun McKinney) move to across town. In addition to McKinney and Marcel Spears (aka Marty), the would-be cast includes Justin Long (Mom) as Bruce, 'a tech millionaire who is a mix of unjustified confidence and social ineptitude,' Kara Royster (Pretty Little Liars) as Matisse, 'Malcolm's new neighbor and a would-be influencer,' Angelique Cabral as Malcolm's literary agent Lisa, and Hunter King (Life in Pieces) as Bellamy, described as 'dark, sardonic and often under the influence of edibles.'
TVLine spoke with Cedric the Entertainer about the nixed offshoot, which you can read more about here.

My husband's ex-wife is all over him at events for their grandkids. How do I make it stop?

Welcome back to "Ask Amy & T.J." This week, they take on some grandma drama. Whether they're building an audio empire like Taylor and Travis or throwing the wedding of the year like the Bezoses, power couples inspire awe and envy. But mixing business and romance isn't always sunshine and roses. If you need advice on how to keep your relationship and your business afloat, send your question to askamyandtj@ If you want to hear more from Amy and T.J., check out their podcast. Amy & T.J., My husband has grandchildren from a previous marriage, which isn't a problem. However, their grandmother, Betty (the ex-wife), is always around. I've told him I can tolerate her being there for things like their grandkids' graduation, but not every time we get invited somewhere. For example, last weekend we were at a birthday party for someone on his side of the family (her ex-in-laws). Why is she there? And every time they meet, Betty is hugging and kissing on my husband. She can't just say hi and move along. I've asked him over and over to set boundaries but he acts like he doesn't know what that means. I told him I'm not comfortable going to our next event if she'll be there and he said 'OK, I'm going anyway.' Really? What do I do? — Gut reaction T.J. Holmes: Yes, this is partly about grandparents and grandchildren. But this is just a plain old 'Why is the ex always around' story. Amy Robach: This is about respect. It doesn't seem like your husband respects you, and certainly, the ex-wife doesn't. On further thought... TJH: We get very few no-brainer questions, but I think this is one. I'm trying to see your husband's perspective, but I just can't. I can't see why the ex-wife is of such value to him that it's worth upsetting you, the woman that he's declared he wants to spend the rest of his life with. Now, I don't know how long he and the ex-wife were married, or how close she is to the family and to the kids and grandkids. Maybe it was 25 or 30 years or more. But I still don't think that it's ever OK for any partner to treat their spouse the way he's treating you, constantly. This should be a simple conversation, ending with him saying, 'Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know you felt that way, I respect that,' and then you can move on. But I don't know why you don't insist that this stop. AR: Yes, it's about respect. Ask him to reverse the situation: How would he feel in your shoes? And it's not simply that Betty is there; you're saying that she is effusive and touching your husband. That would be an issue for any second wife. I think the reason your husband is continuing to allow this has to be his ego. It feels really good when you've got two women who are both fighting for you. Maybe he thinks he can placate everyone. But by letting this go on, he's saying he doesn't care what you think or what your feelings are. And how could you possibly have a relationship that way? If you don't respect or care what your partner thinks, you don't have a marriage. TJH: Another possibility: He's a guy. He's an idiot. Sometimes we can be clueless about such things. It doesn't seem like much of an excuse, but could he just be unaware? AR: If that's the case, you need to just make a decision. You're either going to have to accept this and let it go — which is really hard — or do something, which could mean leaving the marriage. The worst thing you could do is nothing. TJH: Yes, and tell your husband, 'This is what I need from you. Are you able to provide it?' We're grown folks. You look directly at him and tell him what you want. We don't do ultimatums, but you have to confront this. And at some point, you have to stop blaming him if you continue to stay. If he's not willing to work on it, that's a red flag that he doesn't care. Meanwhile, your husband, Betty and even you are not keeping your eyes on what's important: making sure there isn't tension for the family. What do the grandkids want? Do they love Betty being around? Are they uncomfortable seeing how she is around your husband? Amy and I have dealt with tension in our blended families before. You have to put that first. Figure out what you, as the adults, need to do to ensure the kids and grandkids are OK. AR: For certain special events, it's important for the grandkids to have all the people in their lives there. But it doesn't mean that Betty needs to be all up on and all over your husband. There can be clear boundaries of no touching. The final word TJH: Well, it's hugging and kissing. Maybe this is just a hug when Betty and the husband see each other, and that's it? AR: Then do a fist bump instead. TJH: The grandparents need to ... dab up? AR: Dab up! I don't think that's unreasonable. I don't want anybody kissing on you!

DirecTV just added this killer YouTube TV feature

DirecTV is one of the best live TV streaming services I've tested — and I've tested all the cable alternatives. Yes, it can get expensive, but if you can stomach the high price on the Signature Packages, you get tons of channels for your money. That's a good thing, especially since now, DirecTV is letting you watch four channels at the same time. Yes, DirecTV is officially adding multiview to its live TV service. The feature is possibly the most popular feature on YouTube TV, and no small reason why we dub it the best live TV streaming service out there. DirecTV has offered versions of the feature in the past, though, and now it's offering customers seven new multiview "mixes" that allow you to watch four channels at once. Here's the full list: As you can see, it's not just Signature Package customers who are getting this new feature. If you're subscribed to an eligible Genre Pack, you can also watch multiview Mix Channels, provided your Genre Pack has the required channels. DirecTV launched Genre Packs back in February, and they allow you to subscribe to slimmed-down, genre-focused live TV streaming plans for less than a Signature Package. Genre Pack subscribers get access to the DirecTV app, unlimited DVR recording and MyFree DirecTV, the company's free streaming service. DirecTV adding multiview for most of its customers is a win if you're a subscriber. Full stop. But it's already starting off behind YouTube TV's multiview offering in terms of what you can do with the feature. Like DirecTV's new multiview mix channels, YouTube TV offers some multiview channels that are curated for subscribers. But starting earlier this past May, YouTube TV has allowed users to build custom multiviews, allowing them to create four channel combinations that include Bravo, ESPN, USA and more. I'm surprised DirecTV didn't offer this functionality to its customers as well. I get that building multiviews is a fairly new feature even for YouTube TV, but given DirecTV was already playing catch-up, why not put out an industry-leading product, rather than something that's already an inferior offering? It's still great that customers are getting this feature, but it clearly should be more. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. The Shocking Reason Sami Isn't Getting Involved in Johnny's DAYS Trial

Fans were thrilled when Alison Sweeney recently brought Sami back to Days of Our Lives, twice. The first time was to console Johnny, who learned the horrible story of his conception. The second was when she came back to Salem to pay her final respects to the late John Black. Outside of the soap, and when she wasn't working on a Hallmark film, Sweeney had great fun appearing on LEGO Masters Jr. Now, she's got another return to Salem booked, and she opened up about what Sami's going to be up to. Sweeney Went Home Sweeney told TV Line that she had learned a lot about LEGOs when appearing on the fun competition show. But when asked if she'd ever been in a Hallmark Christmas film that involved LEGOs, she remarked, 'You know, I have never heard of one, but that is a great idea.' She also stated that she was working on a few Hallmark films to be released in 2026, noting that she was excited for them to premiere. The conversation then turned to DAYS and her August 4 return. She revealed, 'I have a few more episodes in this return, and another return coming up in a couple of months. It's always fun to go back to that show.' She stated that she truly loves playing her beloved character, as well as seeing the cast and crew whom she regards as family. 'So it is like going home,' she noted. Sami Would Make Things Worse Sami has been noticeably absent from Salem, even though her son, Johnny (Carson Boatman), is on trial for shooting EJ (Dan Feuerriegel). When asked why she has not been included in the story, she remarked, 'I would just cause problems if I got involved in that.' She further added, 'I would make it worse. And everyone agreed. [Laughs] I would just stir up more trouble!' The conversation changed again, asking about what else she has going on. She explained that she came up with some ideas that she pitched to Hallmark that included other characters she hasn't played yet. She enjoys the challenge of 'finding other ways to tell stories,' and happily remarked that she's going to Spain soon to shoot a couple of films. 'That was so fun and fresh to do,' she happily noted.
