Babatunde Alesha signs up for Great Celebrity Bake Off

Yahoo04-06-2025
Babatunde Aleshe has signed up for 'The Great Celebrity Bake Off'.
The 38-year-old comic will be taking his place in the tent for the Stand Up To Cancer special, with programme bosses hoping he will bring his "pure positivity" and "infectious" energy to the show.
A source told The Sun newspaper's TVBiz column: "Babatunde is guaranteed to be hilarious and will no doubt have plenty of banter with Paul, Noel, Caroline and Alison.
"He's not known for his prowess in the kitchen so there's sure to be some panicky moments laced with the good humour he's known for.
"His energy on the 'Gogglebox' sofa has always been pure positivity and very infectious, and bosses are hoping he'll bring that to the tent."
The news comes a few days after it was revealed 'Love Island' star Molly-Mae Hague will also be taking part in the charity baking competition.
A source said: "She will be a great addition to the line-up and bring a healthy helping of Love island glamour to the tent.
"Molly's now one of Britain's biggest TV stars and has seen her fame steadily grow since she first appeared on the ITV dating show back in 2019."
And fresh from her stint on 'Celebrity Big Brother', JoJo Siwa is also said to have signed up for 'The Great Celebrity Bake Off', with producers said to be particularly pleased because of the interest in the dancer and her relationship with Chris Hughes.
An insider said: "This is a bit of a coup for the 'Bake Off' because JoJo is currently one of the most talked about young stars on TV right now.
"She's barely had time to catch her breath, leaving 'CBB' last month amid huge media attention and heading straight into another huge show this month.
"It's also a fantastic gig for her because although she already has a fanbase over here, the cookery contest also introduces her to a wider British audience.
"Plus she got plenty of experience of cooking in front of the cameras while she was on 'Celebrity Big Brother', though this time she won't have hunky Chris to distract her."
The show will see Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond returning as hosts, but long-serving judge Paul Hollywood will be joined by Caroline Waldegrave after Prue Leith decided to step back from all 'GBBO' specials.

Is ‘Kin' returning for season 3? Everything we know so far

By Aman Shukla Published on August 14, 2025, 20:30 IST Last updated August 14, 2025, 17:47 IST Alright, Kin fans, let's talk about the big question on everyone's mind: are we getting a third season of this addictive Irish crime drama? The Kinsella family's gritty world of Dublin gangland has us hooked, and after two wild seasons, we're dying to know what's next. So, is Season 3 a sure thing, or are we just wishful thinking? Here's everything floating around out there as of mid-August 2025. Will There Be a Kin Season 3? No official word yet on Kin Season 3, but don't lose hope! The show's got a lot of buzz, and there's chatter that keeps fans optimistic. Back in September 2024, Emmett J. Scanlan (our boy Jimmy Kinsella) spilled some tea on ITV's This Morning . He said there's no green light yet, but networks are circling like sharks because Season 2 crushed it on BBC iPlayer, landing in the top five shows in February 2024. Scanlan even hinted at a possible 'bidding war' between broadcasters. How's that for juicy? Rewind to August 2023, and RTÉ, the Irish network that first aired Kin , was all in, saying they're working with global partners to bring it back. But here's the catch: Bron Studios, the main production company, hit a rough patch with a bankruptcy filing in 2023. That's thrown a massive curveball, tying up the show's rights in legal knots. Co-creator Ciaran Donnelly told JOE in December 2024 that they're fighting to sort it out, but it's a messy process with lawyers and all that jazz. Oh, and another hurdle? The cast's original contracts from 2020 expired after three years. That means getting heavyweights like Charlie Cox (Michael), Clare Dunne (Amanda), and Scanlan back would need new deals. Cox is especially tricky since he's off shooting Daredevil: Born Again . Still, Donnelly and Scanlan are hyped to keep going, with Donnelly saying they originally planned for at least five seasons. Fingers crossed! When Could Kin Season 3 Premiere? If everything falls into place—rights cleared, cast signed, cameras rolling—when might we get new episodes? Looking at past releases (Season 1 dropped September 2021, Season 2 hit March 2023), a late 2025 or early 2026 premiere seems possible if filming starts by mid-2025. Donnelly mentioned that even with a go-ahead now, production could take 6 to 10 months, so we're likely looking at mid-2026 at the earliest. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's Relationship Is "Strained"

Time for a check in with astronaut Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau! A source tells Entertainment Tonight that the pair are still seeing each other, but things are casual: As for Katy's ex Orlando Bloom, apparently the vibes are slightly tense. Per the source, things between Katy and Orlando "still aren't great" and "their relationship is a bit awkward and strained." Meanwhile, Orlando made his feelings about Katy and Justin known by commenting on an Onion post from August 1, which featured the headline "Orlando Bloom Spotted At Dinner With Angela Merkel" along with this caption: "Just weeks after announcing his split with fiancée Katy Perry, English actor Orlando Bloom was photographed Friday dining with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Angela kept Orlando laughing all night — he couldn't keep his eyes off her!' said an insider source who spotted the pair sipping wine, slurping oysters, and splitting a decadent piece of chocolate layer cake at a Michelin-starred restaurant." Orlando straight-up commented a series of clapping hands emojis, into that how you will! As for Katy and Justin, a source also recently told The Sun that "Justin wants to keep getting to know her and see how it goes... Justin isn't a guy who is easy to 'catch' and he has been having a lot of women trying to date him since he separated from his wife."

'One of her best yet': Michelle Keegan leads gripping 'edge of your seat' thriller from Fool Me Once producers

We have been loving watching Michelle Keegan embrace the thriller side of her career, first as the lead in Harlan Coben's Fool Me Once, where she played a woman reeling from the death of her husband only to find him alive on a nanny cam. And now she's stepping into another thriller series, and this time - she's playing the detective. Keegan, is set to star alongside Douglas Booth in ITV's The Blame, a drama series that promises to be an "edge of your seat" thriller, as Keegan and Booth's police characters are called in to investigate the murder of a young girl. With ITV's head of drama Polly Hill, saying of the new series: 'The Blame is a brilliant new crime thriller full of surprising twists and a compelling investigation that also cleverly tackles police corruption, exploitation and misogyny as the thriller unravels. Megan is such a wonderful and clever writer, and with Michelle Keegan in the lead and Nicola Shindler at the helm, this is going to be an unmissable drama and one I'm very proud to have on ITV.' The series was just announced and already we can't wait for it to drop and so if you're just as curious as us, here's what to know about it. The Blame is a six-part ITV series, based on the novel of the same name by Charlotte Langley that will see Michelle Keegan star as DI Crane, who alongside her colleague DI Radley (Booth), will investigate the death of a young figure skater, Sophie Madsen, whose body is discovered and sends shock waves through the community. As they delve deeper into the mystery Crane discovers a web of lies and a deep level of corruption within her own team. The series is produced by Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee (who worked with Michelle on Fool Me Once), at for Quay Street Productions, who said, 'We are so delighted to be working with Megan [Gallagher, the series writer] again, she is an exceptional writer who has written a compelling series taking viewers on a twisty journey to discover what really happened through the lens of a contemporary police station brimming with secrets, corruption, and betrayal. "We are also thrilled at the brilliant cast led by Michelle and Douglas, who will keep viewers on the edge of their seats, wondering who to trust at a time when the themes explored in The Blame are more relevant than ever.' Leading the series will be Michelle Keegan as DI Emma Crane. Michelle is of course best known for her roles in Fool Me Once, Our Girl, Ten Pound Poms and Brassic. She'll be starring alongside Douglas Booth who is playing DI Tom Radley. Over the years Douglas has had prominent roles in projects such as LOL, Romeo and Juliet, Great Expectations and The Sandman. Also joining the cast are: Unfortunately as the series has only just been announced and filming is beginning this summer in and around London, we could have quite a while to wait for the series to drop on ITV.
