Should we be worried about Bo Nix? Tim Jenkins breaks down the film
"All in all, was that game cause for concern?" asked Jenkins. "No. It's preseason week 1."
Jenkins had praise for Nix on certain throws, in particular a throw to wide receiver Courtland Sutton on the first drive of the game. Although the pass ended up being incomplete, it was Jenkins' favorite throw from Nix. "This one to me is probably my favorite throw from Bo," said Jenkins. "It's a great ball; Sutton has to make this play."
Jenkins also broke down how Nix froze the safety with his eyes before throwing it to Sutton on a go-route on the sideline. "Absolutely perfect ball," said Jenkins.
Nix did have his struggles, however. Jenkins noted how Nix underthrew a few passes, one to wide receiver Troy Franklin, one in the end zone to Sutton, and a pass right before Nix's safety to running back RJ Harvey. And then there was the safety.
"That safety hurts," said Jenkins. "These are the kind of plays where it's like, there's not a ton to coach, right? Outside of, hey, he knows this, but know our situation. Where are you dropping? We're dropping back towards the end zone. Be smart. Get outside the pocket, but you have to get'er back to the line."
Overall, Jenkins feels that Nix had a good preseason debut, with the caveat of cleaning things up. In order for Nix to take a step forward in 2025, he has to make certain throws and decisions to get this team points and win football games.

Former MSU running back Nathan Carter scores long touchdown for the Atlanta Falcons
It's been a big night for Spartans in the NFL. Shortly after former MSU defensive back and current member of the Tennessee Titans, Kendell Brooks took an interception all the way for a touchdown, Nathan Carter fired back and broke a huge run for a 43-yard touchdown for his Atlanta Falcons. Carter, who, like Brooks, is vying for a roster spot in the NFL, managed to take what looked like a simple inside handoff, found a seam, and showed some nice top-end speed to take it all the way to the end zone. You can watch it below: Kendell Brooks and Nathan Carter are both fighting for roster spots right now, and plays like that will make a great case for them to stick around in the league. UNC football lands top 100 recruit in 2026 class
Bill Belichick lands another big recruit Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels continue to prep for the 2025 season with kickoff against TCU just under three weeks away. While this is the first year under Belichick, the program will really start to feel his impact in terms of recruiting in the 2026 class. And the Tar Heels just added another big piece to that 2026 class. On Friday, the Tar Heels secured a commitment from top 100 player C.J. Sadler as he ended his recruitment and picked North Carolina. The four-star athlete picked the Tar Heels over his other finalists, Colorado, Maryland, and Michigan. The Michigan native is the top recruit in the state and a top 100 player overall, giving UNC their second-highest-rated recruit in the Belichick era behind only quarterback Travis Burgess. With Sadler being listed as an athlete, the plan is for him to play defensive back, wide receiver and be a return man for the Tar Heels per 247Sports. The 5-foot-9, 185-pound Sadler is ranked No. 85 nationally, the No. 8 athlete, and No. 1 player in the state of Michigan per the 247Sports rankings. With his commitment, UNC now has the No. 17 overall class for the 2026 cycle.
