Royal fans love the subtle way Prince William showed 'respect' to Kate Middleton at recent outing
Thanks to the Princess' role as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, ever since 2016 it is custom for her to present the winners of the Ladies' and Mens' Singles with their trophy prize.
Making two appearances this year – one without her family on the 12th of July and one with on the 13th – the royal clan later shared happy photos of their outing on Instagram... which sparked eagle-eyed royal fans to comment on a perceived sweet but subtle gesture that Prince William appeared to make when supporting Catherine at the tournament.
Commenting on the Prince falling back and allowing Catherine, George and Charlotte to walk ahead and greet the Wimbledon crowds, one person remarked (amassing over 1,000 likes in response), "Love the way Prince William let his family walk ahead of him. Such a beautiful and subtle show of respect."
Another added, "I love that William knows that she's the show stopper here! 👑. That's respect and love and teaching his kiddos how to treat their Mum!"
However, while the gesture might seem super romantic and just plain make sense given that Catherine is a tennis patron, it could actually just be down to royal tradition. Yep, that family has a whole bunch of rules that the rest of us would never even think about when it comes to our own relatives.
Typically, because Prince William is next in line to the throne and the most senior royal of the Waleses, it's expected that his wife and children walk a pace or two ahead of him as a mark of respect.
When entering an event as a whole family, King Charles is expected to be the last person to enter, given he is the actual monarch, with both Prince William and Queen Camilla in front of him.
So there you have it – a mark of respect and a royal rule upheld. We love to see it.

Paul Skenes gives Livvy Dunne a helping hand as they stun at MLB All-Star Game red carpet
Paul Skenes' prowess as a boyfriend might match what he can do on the mound. The Pirates pitcher stopped on the MLB All-Star Game red carpet to help his girlfriend, social media influencer and former LSU gymnast, Olivia 'Livvy' Dunne, re-lace her heel after it apparently came undone. The right-handed flamethrower dropped to one knee as cameras caught him assisting Dunne with her heel before the two continued on. The pair walked the red carpet outside Truist Park in Atlanta ahead of the All-Star Game, which Skenes is starting on the mound for the National League. Skenes sported a grey-looking David Alan suit that featured a light blue collar along with a pair of aviator sunglasses. Dunne arrived in a navy blue sleeveless Silvia Tcherassi dress that she paired with white lace-up heels. 3 National League pitcher Paul Skenes (30) of the Pittsburgh Pirates and social media influencer Livvy Dunne pose for a photo on the red carpet before the 2025 MLB All Star Game at Truist Park. The 22-year-old also shared the footage on her TikTok page and captioned the post, 'Big P to the rescue,' along with a flaming heart emoji. Skenes and Dunne have been dating for two years after meeting while athletes at LSU. 3 Paul Skenes #30 of the Pittsburgh Pirates walks on the red carpet with his girlfriend Livvy Dunne ahead of the 2025 MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park on July 15, 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia. He earned his second consecutive All-Star start, though he has only recorded four wins on a struggling Pirates squad. 'Yes [wins and losses matter]. They do,' Skenes told MLB Network on the red carpet. 'It's not a perfect stat. It definitely matters because I think it's indicative of whether you're in the game when the game is being decided, I guess. If you're helping your team win or lose, you're probably in the game at that time, I think.' Skenes said that he's always tinkering with his pitches during the course of the season since spring training. Dunne graduated from LSU in December and hinted that she could look to do some acting in the future. 3 Paul Skenes of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Livvy Dunne walk the red carpet during the 2025 All-Star Red Carpet Show presented by Deer Park at Battery Ave on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia. 'I've really enjoyed watching him, but right now, I'm also going to try to do more performing arts stuff myself. I've always loved to perform as a gymnast, whether it's diving into acting or some kind of other art, I've always been passionate about.'

REUTERS 'That same year, I discovered I had uterine fibroids.' Nyong'o went on to say she had up to 30 fibroids surgically removed. Advertisement She asked her doctor if there was anything she could do to prevent them from coming back. 'She said: 'You can't. It's only a matter of time … until they grow back again,'' she wrote. Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous tumors that grow within or around the uterus — they range from pea- to melon-sized. 5 'We're struggling alone with something that affects most of us,' she wrote. Advertisement They're also widespread: 8 in 10 black women and 7 in 10 white women experience fibroids by the age of 50. 'We need to stop treating this massive issue like a series of unfortunate coincidences,' Nyong'o declared. 'We must reject the normalization of female pain. I envision a future with early detectors for teenagers, better screening protocols, robust prevention research and less invasive treatment for uterine fibroids.' 5 Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous tumors that within or around the uterus — they range from the size of a pea to a melon.
