Jenna Ortega admits feeling 'super anxious' on Wednesday season 2 set

Wednesday star Jenna Ortega has opened up on her anxiety while shooting season two of the Addams Family spin-off.
Originally created more than 60 years ago, The Addams Family has become a legendary gothic sitcom that has continued to entertain generations with various remakes over the years.
But the franchise reached new heights in 2022 when former You star Jenna Ortega stepped into the shoes of the deeply sarcastic and morbid Wednesday Addams for her very own show on Netflix.
Subscribers went crazy for the dark comedy, with Wednesday breaking the streamer's records for the most viewed hours in a week for an English-language series, beating Stranger Things four.
Wednesday also became the third most-watched English-speaking show on Netflix with more than 752 million hours viewed.
So it didn't come as too much of a surprise when it was announced a season two was in the works.
Despite its success, Ortega has admittedly tried to dissociate from the ever-growing fandom around Wednesday.
She explained to Netflix: 'It's still quite difficult to comprehend. I see the effects and changes that it's had on my life and my castmates' lives, but it's something that you're very detached from. If you see a number, it looks kind of crazy, but it's not like I've seen it in a room or anything like that.
'I just try not to pay too much attention to that stuff because success for me is more about feeling accomplished and being able to put something out into the world and feel proud.
"It's wonderful that it's been received so well, because there's a lot of pressure.'
The 22-year-old then went on to talk about how she felt 'anxious' while shooting the new episodes.
'When we started the show, I was 18 and had never worked with a director as big as Tim [Burton]," she shared.
'I had led a show before, but not with a character that was so well known and loved prior to me joining. It's a relief, but I would be lying if I didn't say that I still don't feel super anxious or feel like I have something I need to live up to every day on set.
'Maybe that's a good thing, but it hasn't gotten easier.'
After defeating Joseph Crackstone (William Houston) and saving Nevermore Academy in the first series, Wednesday has become wildly popular in series two, much to her horror.
However, she soon becomes preoccupied when Wednesday has a disturbing vision of Enid Sinclair's (Emma Myers) death.
But will her best friend actually die or is the morbid teenager going to be able to save her before it's too late?
Wednesday season two premieres on Wednesday, August 6, on Netflix.

They now share a set down south and have locked horns in recent weeks over the retired goalkeeper's escapades. Back in May the couple jokingly slammed the former Celtic stopper for 'wrecking' their set while filming his own show. Since then they have both continuously aimed digs at Hart for the incident on various episodes, demanding an apology for the damage. And this week, Hart finally delivered. Taking to social media, he posted a video saying sorry for the damage he caused but couldn't resist a parting shot in the clip - as he BOOTED a stuffed teddy of Jay from the Inbetweeners. And that was the last straw for the actor turned podcaster as he took aim at the retired goalie - albeit tongue in cheek - with a message in their latest show. Addressing the video of Hart, he said: "We're at war by the way. Now we share a studio space with the goalkeeper Joe Hart. Claire then chimed in and had the podcast crew in hysterics with her comment, saying: "Surely not. Not at that age!" James continued: "He did break our set a little bit. "It's supposed to be an apology video and he picks up our little Jay doll there and boots it across the room very hard and very aggressively. "I just thought 'let's go' and I'll tell you something Joe Hart, if you kicked like that when you were at Man City then Pep (Guardiola) might not have dropped you. "War has been declared and we will keep you updated. "We're going to brainstorm and put some thought and money into this." Lionesses star Chloe Kelly has been on the end of some fierce criticism from the Spanish media after steering England to victory against Spain in the Euro 2025 final Chloe Kelly's celebration after her Euros-winning penalty triggered bitter criticism across the Spanish media, with some slamming her as 'cocky'. The Lionesses star netted the winning spot-kick in Switzerland on Sunday evening. And in the process, she ensured that Sarina Wiegman 's side would be returning with their European championship crown firmly in tow. Peter Andre poses with acting legend after bagging major TV drama role
Following major backlash to his latest silver screen role, Peter Andre is trying his hand at acting once more, this time on TV—and he's starring alongside one of the greats. The 90s pop star caught heat earlier this year when the trailer for Jafaican dropped, a movie in which Peter plays a small-time con artist immersing himself in Jamaican culture to pull off a risky scam. It involved the Australian singer, 52, wearing dreadlocks and putting on an accent, with social media going to town with their criticism and ripping into the 'outrageous' plot. A few months on, though, and Peter is back with a very different role. It's been confirmed that he'll star in The Sunshine Murders, a murder mystery drama set to air on Channel 5 in September. Teasing the job in his OK! Magazine column last October, he penned: 'I have also got a part in a new Channel 5 drama as one of the lead characters, which I'm excited about. 'I can't reveal the name of it just yet or give much away, but I start filming next month and can't wait to get stuck in. Watch this space!' Now, we have a look behind-the-scenes of the action, thanks to images shared with the cast. Shot by Cork Films, the series will also guest star English acting legend Stephanie Beacham, Dimensions star Camilla Rutherford, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows actor Nick Moran, and EastEnders' Nina Wadia. As for Peter's part in the show, he'll be seen like never before, donning all the professional get-up of a Greek pathologist tasked with examining the murder victims. We know that his character's name is George Constantinos, but that's all for now, as further plot details are being kept hush-hush. Peter will likely be hoping for a warmer response to the character of George than that of Jafaican's Gary Buckle, aka Gazza. Upon facing the wrath of the internet, Peter spoke out in defence of the film, which also starred Wil Johnson, Jamie Lomas, and Oliver Samuels. Ahead of the movie's release celebrations in Queensland, Peter was asked by Channel 7 in Australia: 'The trailer did see some headlines about an English-born, Australian-raised actor playing a Jamaican character; you know about that? Are you surprised there's been some mixed feedback here, or were you anticipating that?' He responded: 'Well, to be fair, I mean, I think it's good to get all sorts of feedback. I mean, this is not … it's my first lead role, but I've done quite a few roles before. And all of them, I've played different characters. 'So for me, it's acting—I get to do something light-hearted, something funny. Something that, y'know, is the kind of film I'd wanna watch. So it's almost like a little bit self-indulgent in the sense that I get to do something that I've really, really wanted to do.' Peter went on to praise director Fredi Nwaka for allowing him to play someone 'very, very different'. In a further conversation with Metro, the Insania vocalist insisted it was 'never the intention' to 'genuinely offend' anyone. He also recalled his Get Down On It with Kool & The Gang, which he re-released in 1996. In the music video, he wore an Afro wig. 'I was just a bit surprised that this was the one that seemed to cause controversy, and not the role that I played in Fredi's last film, where I actually had to play someone that was racist,' he added, referring to the 2022 film On the Other Foot, in which he played a member of the EDL.
