Breaking Down Justin Hartley's Possible Love Interests on ‘Tracker': From Fiona Rene to Sofia Pernas
When Tracker premiered in February 2024, viewers quickly found themselves introduced to Colter. A survivalist who identifies as a lone-wolf but travels the country helping find missing people, dogs and more? Consider Us sold.
It definitely helped to have a familiar face play Colter with Hartley previously gaining recognition for his roles in soap operas such as Passions and The Young and the Restless and TV shows including Smallville and This Is Us.
But just because Hartley was used to playing characters that were the object of someone's affection didn't mean he was in a rush to introduce a romance on Tracker. Hartley warned viewers at the start that they shouldn't expect for his character to have a consistent romantic interest.
Is Justin Hartley's Wife Sofia Pernas Returning to 'Tracker'? What They've Said
'The fact that Colter doesn't have a girlfriend, I think that's one of the things I wanted to sort of keep,' Hartley, who is also an executive producer on the show, told People in February 2024. 'I feel like if he has a wife and a girlfriend and a family, and he continues to do all these dangerous things, that's kind of selfish.'
Despite not aiming to find Colter a partner, the first two seasons offered several possible love interests. From Fiona Rene's Reenie to Sofia Pernas' Billie, keep scrolling for a guide to all of Colter's possible romantic options:
When season 1 premiered, Reenie wasn't just introduced as Colter's lawyer. She hinted at a complicated past that included at least one-night stand — but their ongoing chemistry was undeniable.
There was also the fact that Reenie caught the eye of Colter's brother, Russell (Jensen Ackles), too.
"I think deep down Colter loves Reenie. I really would like to think that he has unconditional love for her," Rene exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2024. "He really wants what's best for Reenie and he wants to see her happy. I think Elliott [Michael Rady] at that moment is really making her happy. So I think it's undeniable for Colter to feel that too. But does that mean that he is over it?"
Rene didn't rule out Reenie rekindling her romance with Colter — or Russell.
"Reenie loves some of that attention. Who doesn't love a little bit of validation here and there? We're all human," she quipped to Us. "But I think Reenie is looking for the caliber of man who can be emotionally, physically and mentally available. [Someone] in the same state who she doesn't have to track down every single time she wants to talk to him. I think that that's pretty pertinent."
She continued: "[She wants] to have someone who is willing to put her as a priority — and that's hard. For Russell and Colter, I don't know if Reenie trusts that either of them are capable of doing all of those things. [They should] prove me wrong."
Most Iconic Guest Stars From Justin Hartley's 'Tracker' Series: Sofia Pernas, Jensen Ackles and More
Colter's chemistry with Pernas' Billie has heated up our screens since they reconnected in season 1. It probably helps that Pernas is Hartley's real-life wife, which has allowed Billie to return again and again as her connection with Colter gets more serious.
'She's wonderful. I mean, if I had my choice, I'd spend every minute with her," Hartley gushed to Us in July 2024. "What's really cool is when you meet someone that means so much to you, that you're so proud to be with and so proud of, and just such a fan of, and to get to see her work, because she's such a talented actor. She elevates scenes, and so it makes my job easier, actually. But yeah, it's just wonderful to work with her.'
During the season 2 premiere, which aired in October 2024, Colter reconnected with Camille (Floriana Lima), who was involved in an open case he wasn't able to solve. Colter continued to look for Camille's missing sister, which led to an on and off relationship.
"I think the relationship has changed based on the trauma bond. That's exactly what it is — a trauma bond," Hartley told TVLine at the time. "It's very, very sad, but it's like these married couples that lose their child, and they can't be together anymore because they see their child in the other person."
Colter ultimately solved the case when he confirmed that Camille's sister was murdered. This brought closure to Camille — and ended her romantic bond with Colter for now.
'Tracker' Cast's Dating History: Justin Hartley, Sofia Pernas, Jensen Ackles and More Stars' Love Lives
Tracker showed Colter hooking up with a detective during the series premiere and didn't stop there. During various cases throughout the seasons, Colter has flirted with or appeared to appeal to women he crossed paths with.
Does that mean Colter could end up with someone random? Probably not.

How Former 'GMA 'Anchor Eva Pilgrim Is Leading 'Inside Edition 'into a New Chapter After 30 Years (Exclusive)
Pilgrim will succeed Deborah Norville as only the fourth-ever anchor of the newsmagazine on Aug. 18 NEED TO KNOW Eva Pilgrim is kicking off her tenure as the newest anchor of Inside Edition on Aug. 18 She succeeds Deborah Norville, who anchored the newsmagazine for the last 30 years Pilgrim comes to Inside Edition from GMA3: What You Need to Know Eva Pilgrim was made for this. Having grown up in a home where Inside Edition was always on TV, Pilgrim tells PEOPLE that she's admittedly still "slightly floored" that she gets to be the new anchor of the beloved newsmagazine. She'll be the program's fourth-ever host, succeeding Deborah Norville, who wrapped her tenure on the show in May. "I look back at my first job, and my mom was still sending me money to eat because she was worried I wasn't eating. I think about the countless people who've poured into me and helped me get better at this to then get to this point," says Pilgrim, who shares 3-year-old daughter Ella with her husband Ed Hartigan. "My mother, when I told her I was interviewing for this job, lost her mind. I watched Inside Edition growing up. It was on in our house, but also in my first TV job, it was a show that came on between newscasts," Pilgrim adds of the serendipity of her new gig. Still, the former GMA3: What You Need to Know anchor admits that she certainly feels "the weight" of stepping into a new role at an institution of a show like Inside Edition. "It's a legacy," she says, adding that doing the show after Norville is no small task, either. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. "You feel overwhelmed," she says. "To be in this job now at a point where I really appreciate everything that it is? I can't believe the job [was] open! Deborah was really nice and sent me an email, and at the end of the email she was floored that she had been in the job for as long as she had. She said that was because it was just such a great job, so why would you leave? It's one of those jobs that people don't leave because it's great." Pilgrim was born into a military family in Seoul, South Korea. Her mother is Korean, and her father hails from South Carolina. She grew up as a self-proclaimed Army brat. "We moved all over the place, literally four times in first grade, I always tell everyone that," Pilgrim says with a laugh. "But what's nice about that is I feel like traveling a lot is good training for a journalist because you learn how to make friends, you feel uncomfortable when you meet people you've never met before, and you know that that's going to happen every time. It conditions you to just say the first thing and make the first move to have a conversation." The innate curiosity and interpersonal skills Pilgrim developed early would continue to serve her well — by the time she was in high school, the family had settled back in South Carolina. "We grew up eating kimchi and country-fried steak and collard greens. It was a weird collision of cultural differences that ended up all one thing," she says. "And I think the luxury of having a parent who's not from where you grow up — a different country — very different than South Carolina, you realize how small the world is because you're traveling back and forth between those two different families. Pilgrim decided to pursue journalism while in college after taking classes in the subject and working for a local TV station while she was still in school. "I liked the access that it gave me. Whether you were covering a sporting event or a community event, you got to be there in the middle of it. That I found to be kind of addictive," she says. After working on a story where her subject confessed to a crime mid-interview and was subsequently arrested thanks in part to her reporting, Pilgrim knew she'd found the line of work she was meant to be doing all along. "[That man] said all the things to me that day because I was in many ways naive, but I was curious and very human with him. I wasn't asking him probing or prying questions. I was letting him talk and giving him human responses," Pilgrim explains, "and our news director at the time, she said something to me that I've never forgotten and I try to hold on to no matter how many interviews that I do. 'Always lead with your humanity,' she said, 'that's why you are good at this.'" Tune in to Inside Edition on Aug. 18 for Eva's first broadcast ahead of the season 38 premiere on Sept. 8. Meghan Markle's new challenge as she's accused of 'copying Kate Middleton'
Meghan Markle is said to be 'furious' about accusations she's 'copying' her sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales, following their new TV deal with Netflix. The Duke of Sussex, 40, and the Duchess of Sussex, 44, announced a new 'first-look' deal last week with the US streaming giant. As well as putting Meghan under fresh scrutiny, experts tell OK! that the details are clearly a 'reality check' for the couple. The deal includes a new festive edition of Meghan's With Love show, where viewers can 'join Meghan in Montecito for a magical holiday celebration'. It didn't take long for some royal watchers to accuse Meghan of trying to steal the festive limelight from Kate, 43, who hosts her own annual Christmas event. A source claims, 'Meghan is furious that people are accusing her of copying Kate, because Kate doesn't 'own' Christmas. There are always going to be comparisons, but Meghan has a business that she needs to make a success of." They continued, 'The Kate versus Meghan chatter started almost as soon as Meghan joined the family, and it's not going to stop, but Meghan doesn't want to compete or copy Kate.' Kinsey Schofield, a podcaster and royal expert in the US, believes, however, that the Sussexes have shown a 'pattern of choosing moments' that risk overshadowing other royal occasions – and Christmas might be no exception. 'It's become so noticeable it was reported recently that Harry had offered to share his schedule with the family as an 'olive branch' to avoid competing in the future,' she says. Earlier this year, Harry was accused of 'stealing the limelight' from his father and stepmother when he arrived at the Royal Courts of Justice in London just before King Charles and Queen Camilla began their state visit to Italy, which also coincided with their 20th wedding anniversary. The release of the paperback edition of his explosive memoir Spare also hit the headlines worldwide – just as the King and Queen were touring Australia. Back in 2020, Meghan's team came under fire after a stream of two-week-old photos were published on her Instagram account on the same day as Kate embarked on a UK tour. And when Harry and Meghan dropped their so-called 'Megxit' bombshell on the eve of Kate's 38th birthday, they were accused of 'overshadowing'. But when it comes to their festive plans, Kinsey suspects that Meghan is unlikely to successfully emulate Kate's feel-good celebration. The mum-of-three hosts an annual Christmas service at Westminster Abbey, an event which has become one of the biggest and most poignant in the family's festive calendar. Kinsey, who hosts the To Di For Daily podcast, doubts that Meghan's show will hit the same notes, saying, 'Catherine's carol concert is about unity, love, and hope. Kinsey adds. 'She arrives with her family, with a sense of togetherness and faith. 'In contrast, Meghan's Christmas special feels more like a branding opportunity. She's timed product launches from her lifestyle line, As Ever, to coincide with the release. 'Without the warmth of family or shared tradition, it plays less as a holiday celebration and more as a commercial venture. When placed side by side, Catherine's feels authentic and meaningful, while Meghan's risks seeming transactional.' The Sussexes' latest TV news comes five years after they signed a deal with Netflix said to be worth upwards of $100m (£74m), shortly after turning their backs on their life as senior working royals. Their new arrangement – described as a 'multi-year, first-look deal' – means Netflix will pay for the right to get first dibs on the couple's work, but isn't committed to taking it. Dermot McNamara, a talent manager and PR crisis expert, believes the difference in terms sends out a strong message. 'It's not necessarily a humiliation, but it is a reality check for Meghan and Harry and also a reflection of the ever-changing entertainment world,' he tells us. 'Every network and streamers' belts are tightening. 'Netflix wants to see sharper ideas and stronger delivery before committing to mega-budgets again. The upside is that this could help Meghan and Harry define what they actually stand for, creatively.' The pair's productions so far, including Harry's polo documentary and Meghan's With Love series, weren't exactly record-breaking successes, with the latter failing to crack Netflix's list of the 300 most-streamed shows of the year so far. Dermot also suggests that while Meghan won't take kindly to the 'copying' comments, she will have been fully aware that comparisons would inevitably be made. 'Every broadcaster, charity and celebrity under the sun produces holiday specials. It's a warm, family-friendly format that audiences respond to. That said, Meghan knows the optics. Wanting to be seen in the same aspirational light as Kate isn't the worst strategy, but Meghan's challenge is to make it feel authentic to her own brand, not a re-skin of someone else's.'
