Ciara gets daughter to 'pull back' on raunchy dance moves

Perth Now10-06-2025
Ciara had to get her daughter to "pull back" on copying her raunchy dance moves.
The 39-year-old singer - who has Future, 10, with former partner Future, and Sienna, seven, Win, four, and Amora, two, with husband Russell Wilson - loves the fact her eldest girl always wants to "twin" with her but admitted she is concerned the youngster had taken her desire to be like her mom a little too far.
She told Extra: 'Sisi, she likes to roll with me. She likes to twin with me. She kind of likes everything that I do.
"She went on tour with me and Missy and Busta last summer. She got to see Mommy in a different light than she's seen me, like, full-in tour rollout, and I was like, she's copying a few, just a couple too many moves of mine. I'm like, 'Let's pull that back.'... Like, 'Ride,' I'm like, 'Wait, wait.' That's one of her favourite songs. I'm like, 'Is this good or is this not good?'
'She loves me so much and looks up to me so much that it's so sweet, and she's the best. She's such a little star!'
But the Goodies hitmaker hoped she sets a good example to Sienna with her own self-confidence.
She said: "I want for her to know that she's never limited by her gender, nor the colour of her skin, and when she sees me, she gets to know, I can do what I believe I can do if I simply believe in myself. I hope that's what she understands for mommy's journey, and I also want to empower her to be her."
Ciara is proud of her Ecstasy remix with Normani and Teyana Taylor because she sees them as "the future".
She gushed: 'To see girls come together is always special and important to me, and I think TT and Normani, they are the future. I just love the power of us three women coming together and shining a light on each other.'
And Ciara teased her upcoming album CiCi will offer a "lot of fun stuff" for fans.
She said: "I have a lot of fun stuff in store for my fans. I have to say, I'm really excitd about another collaboration on my project, my song that was produced by Jazze Pha. We haven't done a song together in almost like 18 years, maybe 17 or so, but Latto is also on that record, so it's a lot of A-Town love."

Pierce Brosnan offers top tip to next James Bond actor

Pierce Brosnan's advice for the next actor to play James Bond is to "be bold" and "have a great time". The 72-year-old actor played 007 in four movies from 1995 to 2002; GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day. As one of only seven actors to have played Bond on the big screen, Brosnan has offered some words of wisdom to the man who takes over the tuxedo following Daniel Craig's final film No Time To Die. Speaking to Extra at the premiere of his new movie The Thursday Murder Club, he said: "Be bold. Enjoy it. Know yourself, be strong, go out there and have a great time." And Pierce insists whoever is lucky enough to be cast as the British spy will see their life totally changed by the iconic role. He added: "There's so many wonderful actors. It's a magnificent role. Whoever finds the role, it will change their life." In his new Netflix film, The Thursday Murder Club, Brosnan stars alongside Dame Helen Mirren, 80, Sir Ben Kingsley, 81, and Celia Imrie, 73. The movie is adapted from Richard Osman's bestselling book about a group of retirees who come together to try and solve a murder, and Brosnan admits it was Osman's writing and the quality of the characters that attracted him to the project. He said: "It's just the humanity of it. It takes courage to get old, to be yourself. At any age, it really takes courage to live life, and these people are full of vibrancy and they're full of passion. One wants to live, so that's what it's about." Dune director Denis Villeneuve has been confirmed to be helming the next James Bond film, but the identity of the next 007 is still not known. Actors who have been named as possible successors to Daniel Craig include Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Wolves of War star Scott Rose-Marsh, Mike Dickman, Tom Hardy and former Superman star Henry Cavill.

Denzel Washington wishes he had 'prayed more'

Denzel Washington wishes he'd been more active in his faith when he was younger. The 70-year-old actor - who was baptised and obtained a minister license last year - has enjoyed a long and successful career and the only advice he has to offer his younger self is to have been more in contact with God. Asked the advice he'd give a younger Denzel, he told Extra: 'Pray more. That's it. Pray more. That's what I would tell that younger Denzel Washington. Pray more. Get on your knees more.' The Oscar-winning star is currently promoting his new film Highest 2 Lowest - in which he plays a music mogul who is targeted in a ransom plot - and the movie marks his fifth collaboration with Spike Lee, which is always comfortable. He said: 'I don't want to say, 'Just like old times,' but you know, you're back in the saddle. 'He leaves me alone. I don't know what he's doing. And he put together a great team of actors… Wendell [Pierce] and Jeffrey and Michael Potts and myself, and then the young buck A$AP [Rocky], and just let it rip.' Denzel was baptised in a special ceremony at the Kelly Temple Church of God in Christ, in New York City's Harlem neighbourhood just a few days before last Christmas. According to New York Post column PageSix, Archbishop Christopher Bryant revealed Denzel said: "In one week I turn 70. It took a while but I'm here. If [God] can do this for me, there's nothing He can't do for you. The sky literally is the limit." The actor's wife Pauletta Washington - with whom he has four adult children - also spoke of her pride in her husband's spiritual achievements, saying: "Forty-six years later, here I'm still standing next to him as only God will have it. "So, I'm very proud of you. You are the head of our house and you have set a great example for our children, who are now adult children who know the difference because we have shown them the difference." After the ceremony, Denzel posed for a picture holding his certificate of baptism and his minister licence - which will allow him to be ordained in the future. The Training Day star previously opened up about his faith in a recent interview with Esquire magazine, admitting he believes it's not "fashionable" to talk about religion in Hollywood. He said: "When you see me, you see the best I could do with what I've been given by my lord and saviour. I'm unafraid. "I don't care what anyone thinks. See, talking about the fear part of it - you can't talk like that and win Oscars. You can't talk like that and party. You can't say that in this town. "I'm free now. It's not talked about in this town. It's not talked about. It's not talked about. It's not fashionable. It's not sexy. But that doesn't mean people in Hollywood don't believe."

Shrek 5 release delayed until summer 2027

The release of Shrek 5 has been delayed until summer 2027. The upcoming movie in DreamWorks' animated franchise has been pushed back six months to June 30, 2027, from its previously slated December 2026 opening so it no longer has to compete in a crowded Christmas release season that also features Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part III. Universal has also shifted an untitled Illumination picture from Shrek 5's old date to April 16, 2027. The new Shrek flick will be the first film in the main series since Shrek Forever After was released in 2010 and sees Zendaya join the cast as the titular ogre's daughter Felicia whilst regulars Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz are back to lend their voices to Shrek, Donkey and Fiona respectively. Murphy has suggested that Shrek 5 will be packed full of comedy just as the preceding films have been. The 64-year-old actor told Extra: "I've recorded some great stuff. You know, we don't get a full script when we do the Shrek movies. We get the dialogue that we're doing for each session. And I know I've been doing some really funny stuff." Eddie explained that he will only get to see his co-stars at the premiere of the movie as all of his voice work for the picture is done alone. He said: "At the end of the movie or when the movie comes out, we see each other at the premiere, but we don't see each other the whole movie. "It's all just you by yourself and a microphone." Meanwhile, Murphy has revealed that Donkey is getting his own standalone film that will begin production in September. Asked if Shrek 5's animation is being worked on now, he told ScreenRant: "No, they're still doing voiceover stuff. We're still in the booth, and literally, we're still doing Shrek. "We start in September on Donkey, we're doing a Donkey one, and that'll be three years from now, but we're about two years into Shrek 5. Still in the booth and about to start Donkey in September." The Beverly Hills Cop star confirmed that Donkey will be getting in his own film in the same way that Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) has previously and that the picture will see him have his "own little story with his dragon wife". Eddie said: "Donkey's going to be like how Puss in Boots had his own movie. "Donkey's going to have his own movie, own little story with his dragon wife and his kids that are half-dragon and half-donkeys. "They've written this funny story. We're doing that, starting that in September." The prospect of Shrek 5 was first discussed by Illumination founder Chris Meledandri in 2023 as he expressed hope of reuniting the original cast for the movie. The film producer told Variety: "We anticipate the cast coming back. Talks are starting now, and every indication that we've gotten is there's tremendous enthusiasm on behalf of the actors to return."
