Telangana BJP steps up efforts to implement party's national agenda
State party leaders, including Union ministers, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members, MLAs, MLCs, and the candidates who lost elections, are actively participating in these initiatives.
They are explaining the concept of One Nation One Election, highlighting how simultaneous polls can reduce wasteful expenditure.
The party celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti at village and state levels, with leaders slamming the Congress for neglecting the legacy of the architect of the Indian Constitution. Party leaders at all levels have consistently targeted the Congress on this issue.
To win over Backward Classes (BCs), the party is holding round table meetings with BC communities and intellectuals across villages and towns.
These meetings emphasise how the Union Cabinet's decision to conduct a caste census alongside the general census will benefit BCs, distinguishing it from the state's census. The state leadership aims to attract BCs and other sections through this outreach.
The BJP organised its first round table meeting in Hyderabad, chaired by OBC national president and MP K Laxman, with plans to hold similar events in every district.
In response to the recent Pahalgam massacre, the party's national unit called for Tiranga Rallies nationwide. The Telangana unit is preparing a massive rally in Hyderabad in the first phase, followed by events at district headquarters, Assembly segments and municipality levels.
BJP leaders, including MPs, MLAs, and senior figures, are engaging directly with grassroots activists, explaining the party's agenda and action plan, which has sparked interest in Telangana's political circles.
While keeping up regular verbal attacks on the ruling Congress and the main opposition BRS through media conferences, the BJP is prioritising the national unit's programmes.
Meanwhile, the Congress and BRS are preoccupied with accusing each other, allowing the BJP to focus on its agenda.

Mob vandalises tomb outside UP mausoleum, claims it is built on top of temple
Members of a Hindu organisation vandalised a tomb in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur on Monday, claiming that the structure was built on a temple. The district administration has deployed heavy police and PAC forces across the area and erected barricades around the disputed site to prevent further controversy centers around the structure located in Abu Nagar, Rediya locality of Sadar tehsil. The tomb, officially registered under Khasra number 753 in government records as Maqbara Mangi (National Property), has become a flashpoint after members of the Math Mandir Sanrakshan Sangharsh Samiti and other Hindu groups, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), declared it to be a temple dedicated to Thakurji and Lord Shiva, allegedly over a thousand years video from the scene shows a number of people, carrying saffron flags, chanting 'Jai Shree Ram' around the tomb. The controversy erupted after the district president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mukhlal Pal, who has been at the forefront of the movement, alleged that the tomb of Nawab Abdus Samad, located in the Sadar tehsil area, is not a tomb but a temple that was altered over time. He claimed it to be a thousand-year-old temple of Thakur ji and Lord Shiva, citing the presence of a lotus flower and a trident within the structure as evidence. Following the claim, members of a Hindu organisation entered the tomb premises and vandalised the area outside the mausoleum. Reports suggest that the group plans to perform a pooja at the site today, escalating the situation further.'The form of our temple has been converted into a mosque. We Sanatan Hindus will not tolerate this. There are clear signs like lotus flowers and tridents. Tomorrow, on August 11, we will offer prayers at the temple at any cost,' Mukhlal Pal said. He also called upon Sanatanis to gather at Puri Thakur Dak Bungalow at 9 am to march and perform emphasised that the administration has accepted the structure was once a temple and warned that if prevented from worshipping, the government would be held responsible. "We are peaceful people, but if we have to fight for our religion, we are ready in every way," he District Co-convenor of Bajrang Dal, Dharmendra Singh, also vowed to perform puja at the tomb, saying, "We will offer prayers here at noon. The administration will not be able to stop us." Virendra Pandey, State Vice President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), also claimed the site to be a temple of Lord Bholenath and Shri Krishna. 'The structure is not a tomb. There are religious symbols, Parikrama Marg, and a temple well. We want it cleaned for Janmashtami celebrations on August 16. We had informed the administration ten days ago, but they are not taking it seriously,' Pandey said. He called the site a central place of faith for Hindus and vowed to reclaim response, Mo Naseem, National Secretary of the National Ulama Council, strongly condemned the incident, calling it an attempt to distort history and communal harmony. 'It is a centuries-old tomb with graves inside. The place is clearly recorded in government documents. Are we now going to look for temples under every mosque and tomb?' he questioned. Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha adjourned till 2 pm amid opposition protest over SIR
The Lok Sabha was on Monday adjourned till 2 pm due to vociferous protests by opposition parties demanding a discussion on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Bihar electoral rolls and other issues. When the House met at 11 am after the weekend break, opposition MPs, including those from the Congress, were on their feet, raising slogans and holding placards. Initially, Speaker Om Birla tried to continue the business of the House -- Question Hour -- by allowing members to ask questions related to the Ministry of Environment and Forests amid the din. After about 10 minutes, Birla said the opposition members have been "systematically disrupting" the proceedings of the House for 14 days with their protests. "This is against the rules and regulations and against the democratic process. People elected you as their representatives to raise their issues and to fulfil their hopes and aspirations, but you are only protesting," he said. "People of the country are watching you," he said and adjourned the House till 2 pm. The opposition has been demanding a discussion on the SIR exercise initiated by the Election Commission ahead of the Bihar assembly elections due later this year. Barring discussions on Operation Sindoor in both Houses, Parliament has seen little business ever since the Monsoon session began on July 21 due to repeated adjournments initially due to the opposition's demand for a discussion on Operation Sindoor and then for a discussion on SIR. Rajya Sabha was also adjourned till post-lunch session within minutes of start of proceedings, as Opposition MPs continued to raise the alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar. As Opposition MPs shouted slogans over what they allege as 'vote chori' (electoral theft) being done through SIR, Harivansh asked listed Zero Hour, where matters of public importance are raised by members, to be taken up. With Opposition MPs unrelenting, Harivansh adjourned the proceedings till 2 pm.

Air India rejects Venugopal's ‘plane on runway' claim after flight diversion, MP cites captain announcement
In its response to the Congress leader, Air India denied that the aircraft, AI 2455, was made to go-around due to the presence of another plane on the runway at Chennai airport. The party targeted Congress general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal, who was on the flight, over his claim on social media that the aircraft was made to go around on its first attempt to land in Chennai because there was another plane on the runway. This was after Air India contradicted Venugopal in a statement. New Delhi: The diversion of a Delhi-bound Air India flight, having a number of Opposition leaders among other passengers on board, from Thiruvananthapuram to Chennai Sunday, has run into conflicting claims, with BJP taking note of 'extremely serious' issue. 'A go-around was instructed by Chennai ATC (Air Traffic Control) during the first attempted landing at Chennai airport, not because of the presence of another aircraft on the runway. Our pilots are well-trained to handle such situations, and in this case, they followed standard procedures throughout the flight,' Air India said on X. When contacted, Venugopal, who is the Lok Sabha MP from Kerala's Alappuzha, told ThePrint the announcement that the plane was making a go-around due to the presence of another aircraft on the runway 'was made by the captain himself'. He added that he has also raised the matter with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Earlier Sunday, Venugopal had posted on X: 'Air India flight AI 2455 from Trivandrum to Delhi – carrying myself, several MPs, and hundreds of passengers – came frighteningly close to tragedy today. What began as a delayed departure turned into a harrowing journey. Shortly after take-off, we were hit by unprecedented turbulence. About an hour later, the Captain announced a flight signal fault and diverted to Chennai.' 'For nearly two hours, we circled the airport awaiting clearance to land, until a heart-stopping moment during our first attempt – another aircraft was reportedly on the same runway. In that split second, the Captain's quick decision to pull up saved every life on board. The flight landed safely on the second attempt,' he added. BJP leader Amit Malviya, highlighting Air India's response, said that if the version of the airline was true, then Venugopal 'should face consequences, including being put on a no-fly list for spreading falsehoods'. ''This is extremely serious. If senior Congress leader K.C. Venugopal claims an Air India flight had to abort landing in Chennai because another aircraft was on the runway and the airline immediately contradicts him, then one of them is misrepresenting facts. Aviation safety is paramount, and social media posts from supposedly responsible people cannot go unscrutinised,' Malviya wrote on X Monday. 'If the allegation is true, Chennai ATC and Air India have much to answer for. If not, Mr Venugopal should face consequences, including being put on a no-fly list for spreading falsehoods,' he added. Apart from Venugopal, the other leaders on the flight were United Democratic Front convener Adoor Prakash, Congress chief whip in the Lok Sabha K. Suresh, party MP from Tamil Nadu Robert Bruce and CPI(M) MP K. Radhakrishnan. In its statement, Air India said the flight made a precautionary diversion to Chennai due to a suspected technical issue and given the weather conditions en route. 'The flight landed safely in Chennai, where the aircraft will undergo the necessary checks. We regret the inconvenience caused to the affected passengers,' it said. Sunday's is the second incident of a flight carrying political leaders getting hit by turbulence. In May, a Srinagar-bound Indigo flight from Delhi that had five Trinamool Congress leaders on board had run into intense turbulence, leading to the plane suffering some structural damage, before it landed safely.
