PNP warns content creators vs crime pranks
'Kung gusto niyo gumawa ng content na fiction, siguraduhin niyo na maliwanag sa lahat for entertainment purposes gumagawa kayo ng ganyang content,' PNP chief Police General Nicolas Torre III said at a press briefing.
(If you want to create content that is fiction, make sure it is clear to everyone that you are creating such content for entertainment purposes.)
(But if you create content that makes it seem like there is disorder in an area...that gives a bad impression. And what is affected by that is not only the police, but also the community itself, as if there is no law and order.)
Torre made the warning after the Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) reported that a complaint has been filed against a vlogger for claiming that a video of a brawl inside a bus in Cebu was a robbery incident.
(The said video first went viral on July 22, 2025, after it was shared by a radio station from the original post of a vlogger with the alias 'Jaissle.')
(The police immediately conducted an investigation, and their validation revealed that the incident was not snatching, but a simple personal dispute that occurred on May 8, 2025, in the area of Yati, Liloan, Cebu.)
The vlogger is facing a complaint for unlawful use of means of publication and unlawful utterances under the Revised Penal Code in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
If proven guilty, the vlogger will be punished with six to 12 years of imprisonment and jail time. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News

QC jeepney driver wanted for car theft in Baguio, arrested
A jeepney driver in Quezon City, by virtue of a warrant of arrest, was nabbed for alleged carnapping committed in Baguio City. According to Emil Sumangil's exclusive report on '24 Oras' on Monday, the Philippine National Police - Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) and Baguio Police caught the suspect along Aurora Boulevard. Authorities confirmed that the jeepney driver, who has been wanted for four years in the Cordillera Administrative Region, has a warrant of arrest for violating the Anti-Carnapping Law. PNP-HPG spokesperson Police Lieutenant Nadame Malang said the suspect did not return the car he rented. GMA Integrated News is reaching out to the suspect for comment. In Novaliches, the PNP-HPG arrested another man for allegedly stealing at least 20 cars. (Based on the information we gathered, the suspect stole at least 20 cars. Now, your PNP-HPG is helping identify and locate the vehicles that he stole.) Among the victims of the suspect's 'rentangay' modus is Teacher Camille, who traced her van in Tacloban City, Leyte. The suspect was able to transfer the ownership of the van to another person even though it is still being paid through installment by Teacher Camille. (I am appealing to the LTO to put a stop to this, because we still haven't been able to retrieve our unit. They are presenting documents showing that the ownership of the van was legally transferred.) Sobrang hirap po, sobrang hirap,' she added. (This is a waste of time and money. And we're being threatened by the financing firm because we are not able to pay the van, which is not in our possession. It's really difficult. It's so difficult.) The suspect also stole his uncle's new pickup truck. 'Sabi niya, ginamit niya papuntang Bicol, hindi niya ibinalik (He told me he will drive the pickup truck going to Bicol, but did not return it),' the uncle said. The PNP-HPG also said the suspect releases brand new vehicles using fake identification and bank accounts. (I used to be a legitimate buy-and-sell dealer, so I accepted some transactions that I expected to be legit. But in the end, I found out that those transactions were actually illegal.) — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
