Police visit Sandakan orphanage

By: Mardinah Jikur Text Size: SANDAKAN: Sandakan District Police Chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah and his officers conducted a welfare visit to the Pusat Jagaan Anak-Anak Yatim Rumah Al-Yakin, here, Tuesday. The delegation was welcomed by the centre's representative cum secretary, Mustarin Abdul Muhim. Ahsmon said the visit was part of their 218th Police Day welfare initiative series. 'Beyond our duty to serve the community, this is our small way of supporting children in need,' he said. 'These children are society's future assets and our shared hope.' During the visit, the police team distributed school supplies and other essential items. 'We hope these contributions would help ease their burden and motivate them to study hard, so they may one day give back to society,' he said. He said they have plans for subsequent welfare visits to retired and ailing police personnel, as well as collaborations with other agencies for similar charitable programmes. Azam Baki confirms possible prosecutions in Sabah graft case

According to a source, the investigation paper was sent to the prosecution for review two weeks ago. Meanwhile, MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki, when contacted by Bernama , confirmed the matter and said that there might be further prosecutions against several other individuals. Recently, several video recordings have gone viral, allegedly showing conversations related to corruption between certain individuals and several Sabah lawmakers regarding the issue of mineral licensing in the state. Beaufort teacher found safe after going missing in buffalo search

BEAUFORT: A teacher from SK Padang Berempah, Ag Kujai Wahab, 52, who went missing while searching for his buffaloes on Thursday morning, was found safe on Friday afternoon. District Fire and Rescue Station chief Ishak Jabas said a search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched with the help of police and local villagers. Advertisement The victim was reported missing by his family after he failed to return from the Nabahan Weston area, where he had gone to look for his buffaloes. The fire team travelled by boat from the Weston jetty to Kampung Nabahan and established an incident command post to coordinate the operation. Police seek eight individuals linked to criminal cases

Acting district police chief Supert Ramasamy Kuppan urged the public with any information to contact the Sandakan District Control Centre at 089-212222 or report to the nearest police station. Advertisement Those wanted include Yee Kok Wai (rape), Mohammad Azwan Mukram (sexual offences against children), and Hisyam Tarang (outraging modesty), each sought under different criminal laws. Also being pursued are Mohd Nazrie Mohd Sha (causing injury), Firdawis Daud (Prison Act violation), Safawati Taming (theft), Mohd Dussin Ahmad (Road Transport Act offence), and Mohd Nursyahfiq Homir Sari (theft).
