Nutritionist Shares Tips On How To Deal With Morning Bloating

Waking up with tight rings or a puffy face? That uncomfortable bloated feeling many experience in the morning is often linked to temporary fluid retention or gas buildup in the body. According to Nutritionist Nmami Agarwal, one telltale sign of bloating caused by fluid retention is when your fingers swell, making rings feel unusually tight. This can also come with symptoms like a heavy stomach or puffiness under the eyes, particularly noticeable first thing in the morning. In her latest Instagram video, Nmami Agarwal explained that bloating is a form of physical swelling triggered by excess fluid in the body. She points to several common culprits behind the condition, including a low-fibre diet, hormonal fluctuations, excessive sugar and salt intake, and consumption of carbonated drinks. To ease bloating, Agarwal recommends gentle movement, warm herbal teas, and reducing salt and fizzy beverages. Simple lifestyle adjustments, she says, can go a long way in keeping that morning puffiness in check. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Nmami - Dietitian|Nutritionist (@nmamiagarwal) Nmami Agarwal shares tips to manage bloating, which include the following: 1. Physical activities: Stretches or leisurely walks can help in the release of trapped gas. 2. Hydration choices: Drink jeera (cumin) water, ajwain (carom seed) water, or warm fennel water to feel better. 3. Dietary changes: Steer clear of carbonated beverages, and consume less salt to improve your fluid balance. Research shows that fingers and other body parts swell because our bodies tend to retain extra fluid during the night. Although this is a natural physiological process, it may cause rings to feel more constricted. The tight feeling can result from fluids shifting and accumulating in the fingers and abdomen when we lie down. Nutritionist Nmami Agarwal previously shared simple hacks to manage bloating or gas in order to help people who are experiencing discomfort. To avoid bloating, she suggested combining foods high in fibre with protein. Nmami suggested beginning with cooked foods like stir-fries, soups, or steamed veggies for people who are adding fibre to their diets. She suggested her homemade digestive powder made with equal parts jeera (cumin), ajwain (carom seeds), and saunf (fennel), to be taken with warm water after meals.

Mallika Sherawat urges fans to embrace natural beauty, say ‘no to Botox': ‘Instead of chasing youth with these…'

Mallika Sherawat has urged people to embrace natural beauty over 'artificial cosmetics'. In a video message on Instagram, captioned 'Instead of chasing youth with these artificial procedures, I'm nurturing it from within. Eating clean, hydration, sleeping early, and exercising are some of the practices I regularly follow. Let's embrace our natural glow,' the Murder actor asked her fans to adopt a 'healthy way of living'. 'There's no filter I am using, there's no makeup I've put on. I haven't even brushed my hair yet. This is the first thing I am doing. I am sharing this video with you so that we all can say together, 'No to botox, No to artificial cosmetic fillers, and yes to life, yes to a healthy way of living'. Love you all,' the 48-year-old said. Sherawat's comments come in the aftermath of actor Shefali Jariwala's recent death. Though the official cause of her death is yet to be ascertained, some media reports claimed that Jariwala suffered a cardiac arrest following a drop in blood pressure, hours after taking an anti-ageing drip on an empty stomach. Taking a cue from her expression, let's explore what to consider when undergoing treatments like Botox. Dr. Nilesh G Satbhai, Head of Department – Plastic, Hand & Reconstructive Microsurgery and Transplant Surgery, Gleneagles Hospital, Mumbai, said that currently, 'a large number of people are opting for Botox.' 'It helps to deal with the fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing the facial muscles. This is a quick, non-surgical treatment that can be done to smooth areas like the forehead, frown lines, and crow's feet, helping with a youthful look,' said Dr Satbhai. However, if not done correctly, Botox can lead to unnatural results and complications like drooping eyelids, a frozen expression, or uneven results. 'Botox should only be administered by a qualified plastic surgeon, dermatologist, or trained expert,' stressed Dr Satbhai. Before opting for the procedure, it's essential to discuss your medical history, expectations, and understand the associated risks. Additionally, results are temporary and may require repeat sessions later, as advised by the expert, said Dr. Satbhai. Dr Satbhai asserted that a well-informed decision allows natural results and avoids unnecessary complications that lead to dissatisfaction and loss of peace of mind. 'Always prioritise safety over trends that are promoted on social media. It is essential to verify your doctor's credentials before undergoing any treatment. The line between what to do and what not to do can often be a tricky distinction. So do not just follow any trend just because your favourite celebrity is promoting it,' said Dr Satbhai.
