'Sensational' sci-fi thriller now free to stream for the first time on ITVX

A selection of hit Disney Plus shows are now available for ITVX viewers to stream at no extra cost.
In a 'first-of-its-kind' deal, the two streaming services are joining forces to share a curated and regularly refreshed selection of hit shows and movies across both platforms.
This means that ITVX viewers will be introduced to a 'rotating rail' of Disney Plus content, titled 'Taste of Disney+', starting today, July 16.
The selection over the coming months includes critically acclaimed and award-winning titles such as The Bear, Andor and Only Murders in the Building, as well as reality hits such as The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and The Kardashians.
The Disney Plus titles available to stream will be regularly updated, but from today the following 12 titles will appear on ITVX under the title 'Taste of Disney+': Pam & Tommy
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives (Season 1)
Guardians of the Galaxy
Tracker (Season 1)
Star Wars: Andor (Season 1)
Death and Other Details
The Ashley Madison Affair
Futurama (Season 11)
Desperate Housewives (Season 1)
National Treasure: Edge of History
Atlanta (Season 1)
Phineas and Ferb (Season 1)
Andor returned to Disney Plus for a second season earlier this year, earning an impressive 97% Rotten Tomatoes score and hailed as the 'best TV series of 2025' by critics.
The first season is now available to stream on ITVX for a limited time, and Metro's TV editor Sabrina Barr previously gave it five stars.
'For the past 12 episodes, Andor has gone above and beyond every single expectation, delivering not only one of the best productions in the franchise – filled with tension, clever calculation, political intrigue, fascinating subtext and sob-worthy moments – but also one of the best TV series of the year. Hands down.
'The season finale delivered a fitting end for what's been a truly sensational journey, one that will stay with us for a very long time.'

At the same time, Disney Plus customers in the UK will be able to stream some ITV content on the platform, under the banner 'Taste of ITVX', at no extra cost.
This includes multi-award-winning drama Mr Bates vs the Post Office, espionage thriller A Spy Among Friends, reality hit Love Island and popular crime dramas like Endeavour, Vera and Karen Pirie.
The new agreement builds on an existing relationship between the two platforms, with ITV already the free-to-air home of Disney Plus' Renegade Nell and the producer of hit show Rivals.
Kevin Lygo, managing director of media and entertainment at ITV said: 'For us, this deal means even more great content for viewers on ITVX, and even more opportunity for viewers to find and enjoy our distinctive titles and services.'
The move is part of a wider trend of collaboration between streamers and international broadcasters, in what has become a crowded field with the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and the BBC's iPlayer to name a few.
Just last month, Netflix announced an agreement that gives subscribers in France direct access to TF1 channels via the streamer.
Speaking to Broadcast, Disney Plus EMEA general manager Karl Holmes explained the mutual benefits of the content swap with ITV. More Trending
He said: 'ITVX skews relatively old, and our heartland is under-55s. One of the challenges we have is that our brands are strong, but if you're older you think that Disney's about family and kids.
'At the same time, we get some of the UK's biggest shows to put in front of our audiences – which are less exposed to traditional free-to-air content. That's great for engagement.'
Homes added: 'We would expect Disney+ to grow and have more subscribers as a consequence. We would also expect ITVX to be more successful.'

ITVX is free to watch in the UK, while ITVX Premium is available for viewers to watch ad-free for £5.99 per month. Disney Plus subscriptions start at £4.99 per month with ads.

Netflix loses popular show as it signs deal to join streaming rival

Sophie-May Williams Published July 14, 2025 2:42pm Link is copied Comments Netflix is home to many shows and movies of all different genres. If you often spend more time scrolling than watching, it's probably because there are literally thousands to choose from. While some are so successful that they're renewed for new seasons, others aren't so lucky. This is especially true for non-Netflix originals, many of which are booted from the platform after a certain amount of time to make way for new content (Picture: Getty Images) One particular show has been hosted on Netflix since 2020 and has built a strong fanbase in the process. However, users will soon have to say goodbye when it's moved to a different platform completely, according to Deadline. Yep, we're talking about CoComelon, the 'pre-school powerhouse' that began life as a children's YouTube channel (Picture: Netflix/Everett/Shutterstock) CoComelon specialises in 3D animation videos of traditional nursery rhymes and original kids' songs. As of this month, it's the third most-subscribed and second most-viewed channel on YouTube. So why, considering the success of the channel and its content, is Netflix making the decision to ditch the show? (Picture: Michael Mccarthymet) First things first - parents and children - let us start by saying that CoComelon won't be kicked out of the streaming world for good. It's actually just transferring to the capable hands of Disney Plus. This isn't to say CoComelon hasn't fared well on Netflix: for the five years it's been hosted by the streamer, it's performed consistently. However, Deadline noted that in recent times ratings have slightly dropped (Picture: Netflix) Interestingly, the report states Netflix tried to renew its CoComelon streaming license, even offering a higher fee than what it currently pays. Despite this, Disney Plus reportedly still won the war and outbid the platform, highlighting the company's interest in this type of content. CoComelon Lane - a Netflix original spin off - is expected to continue streaming on the platform. A CoComelon movie distributed by Universal is also in the works for 2027, meaning Disney Plus could see a spike in interest during that time (Picture: Netflix) Netflix account holders still have a while before CoComelon transitions to Disney Plus in January 2027. Viewers will then need to sign up for a Disney Plus account or watch the available content on YouTube (Picture: Netflix/Everett/Shutterstock) CoComelon is a children's YouTube channel operated by Candle Media-owned Moonbug Entertainment. It started in 2006 under the name checkgate, before being rebranded as ABC Kid TV. In 2018, it was rebranded again to CoComelon. It was created by Jay Jeon (Picture: Netflix) The channel's videos target two- to five-year-olds and their parents, and feature 3D animated children, adults, and animals, who interact with each other in everyday life scenarios. The content also includes standalone music videos, compilations, and livestreams, with lyrics always appearing at the bottom of the screen (Picture: Netflix)

Coronation Street 'to kill off' Billy Mayhew in shocking scenes as Daniel Brocklebank exits soap

One of Coronation Street's longest running characters is reportedly set to be killed off in explosive scenes after being told his time on the show was coming to an end A Coronation Street icon is set to be killed off, according to reports. After 11 years on the Weatherfield cobbles, time is said to be up on Daniel Brocklebank's Billy Mayhew. ‌ And in true Corrie fashion, it's said bosses are planning an explosive exit for the long-running star. The actor behind the man of the cloth was told earlier in the year that his character was to be written out of proceedings on the ITV soap. ‌ It has now been claimed the archdeacon will be killed off in one of the biggest storylines of the festive period. According to sources, bosses don't have any plans for Daniel's character to return. ‌ "There aren't any plans to bring him back onto the soap so it makes sense make his exit the most impactful and explosive it can be," a source told the Sun. "It's likely Billy will be a focus point of the Christmas / New Year storylines, with fans expected to be at the edge of their seats in the run-up.' ‌ With little else known on his exit, fans will eagerly await any big storyline. Daniel, meanwhile previously admitted he was "sad" to be leaving the soap. He recently said: 'I have been working on 'Corrie' for a quarter of my life. "I have adored every minute I have been in that building and have never not looked forward to going into work. I love everyone who works on this show and whilst I am sad to be going, I am equally excited to see what the future holds." The actor's partner, Jordan Coulthard later admitted the decision to leave the Corrie cobbles wasn't one that was led by Daniel. He also branded his axing as a "huge mistake" by bosses. ‌ According to MailOnline, he wrote on his Instagram Story: 'Nothing to say. Not his decision. Huge mistake. I can't believe we are having this conversation. No words can express how heartbroken I am for him.' Producer Kate Brooks previously paid tribute to Daniel and his work on the show in a gushing tribute to the star. She said: "Billy will be involved in a major storyline over the coming months, which will see him tested in ways he never imagined, as friendships and his faith are pushed to the limit. "We're incredibly sad to bid farewell to Dan, who has been fantastic in some of 'Corrie's biggest storylines over the past few years, most notably Paul's MND. "An actor of immeasurable talent and skill, and an absolute treasure behind the scenes - he will be missed by all of us on the cobbles."

Love Island slammed by Women's Aid for ‘misogyny and sexism' in statement amid Harrison's shocking treatment of Lauren

LOVE Island has been slammed by Women's Aid for 'misogyny and sexism' in a statement amid Harrison's shocking treatment of Lauren. Following a turbulent relationship with Toni, Harrison returned from Casa Amor last week accompanied by Lauren. However, despite this, he has continued to engage in flirty conversations with Toni on the villa's terrace, frequently telling each woman different things. On Tuesday, fans shared their fury, labelling Harrison 'disgusting' after he appeared to have had sex with Lauren before later returning to Toni. She had, until recently, remained unaware of the full details of Harrison's encounters. Lauren was left in tears after Harrison chose to crawl back to Toni despite their recent encounter. In response, Women's Aid has issued a statement condemning his behaviour and criticising the ITV reality show for perpetuating misogyny and sexism. Jessye Werner, Communications Manager at Women's Aid, acknowledged the efforts production companies have made to highlight toxic behaviours but stressed that more progress is necessary. She told The Tab: "Despite these positive steps, we still see unhealthy patterns of behaviour on these shows, showing just how steeped in misogyny and sexism our society still is. 'Women are often lied to, slut-shamed and manipulated, as well as laughed at behind their backs. Misogyny and sexism lay the foundation for the tolerance of abuse and violence – it reinforces a culture that excuses and trivialises violence against women and girls. 'More must be done to educate contestants on sexism and misogyny, and it is a great credit to viewers who take to social media, continuing to call out these behaviours as soon as they see them.' The Sun has contacted ITV for comment. Watch moment Love Island's Harrison breaks down in tears and begs for forgiveness after shock betrayal In tonight's episode, Toni was left furious as Harrison finally confessed to two sexy sessions with Lauren. In a tense conversation, Harrison pulled Toni for a chat to reveal the truth about his involvement with Lauren. The moment followed days of speculation in the villa, with several Islanders urging Harrison to come clean. He said: 'I just wanted to tell you something. I'm saying this so that you know the whole truth about the situation… obviously, with me and Lauren. Obviously, the other night… we slept together.' The revelation left Toni visibly stunned, having previously believed Harrison and Lauren had only kissed. Before the conversation, Harrison was seen confiding in the boys, admitting he's struggling with how to break the news. He said: 'Still not great, to be fair, mate. Do I go in and say it straight away or have a nice conversation first?' He was advised to be direct and avoid getting sidetracked. 'Don't make it all flirty and laughy,' Conor warned. 'You might not say it.' It had been a dramatic week on the show, topped off with a shock recoupling that saw Toni pick Harrison, after he'd slept with Lauren. Fans demanded he was axed from the villa after his 'disgusting' sex move. Harrison was called the "lowest of the low", with fans begging producers to step in and axe this "damaging boy' after he had sex with Lauren. Viewers were up in arms over the way Harrison played with the heartstrings of some of the girls. In recent scenes, fans watched as he and Lauren had sex in the bedroom, before he pulled Toni for a chat a short while later and made his feelings for her known. They were left shocked by Harrison's recent behaviour and the way he has played both Toni and Lauren, and now they've demanded he's axed from the villa. Taking to X, one furious user penned: 'I am actually disgusted by harrison and how he treated lauren and it actually puts me off watching this show tbh 'Being used for sex is bad enough but it being broadcast for anyone to see is actually dreadful. i can't even imagine how she's feeling right now. I'm not even a lauren fan but honestly wish i could give her a hug myself rn.' A second person added: 'Absolute deviant is never done licking his lips. Makes me sick.' A third wrote: 'He's officially the worst islander this season for me. i need him gone.' Someone else echoed: 'I don't understand how people like him don't get booted from the show for being f****** disgusting.' And someone else wrote: 'Harrison is vile but using sex to try to solidify a relationship then lying about it is bad behavior on both sides of I'm being honest. I hope Toni finds out and it all explodes.' There were hundreds of comments on social media about Harrison's behaviour, following his shocking villa antics. The drama also started when both Toni and Harrison chose to recouple with different people when they came back from Casa Amor. However the exes shocked fans when they snuck off to the terrace together. Harrison then confessed he still wasn't over Toni despite ditching her for Lauren . Gazing into her eyes, he asked: "Would it be bad if I kissed you right now?" While Harrison was doing this, poor Lauren was crying downstairs. However, later he manage to convince her everything was ok. That evening the pair had sex, despite him begging Toni to kiss him just hours before. After doing the deed, Harrison told the boys the "full-time whistle blew" as he used a football analogy to explain their bedroom activities.
