EastEnders return 'from the dead' in early release as week reaches explosive end
This article contains spoilers for tonight's episode of EastEnders, which airs on BBC One at 7.30pm or can be streamed on iPlayer now.
Secrets have been unearthed, truths have been told and one local arrived home from 'beyond the grave' in the conclusion of another dramatic week in Albert Square.
The Mitchells were reeling from Vicki Fowler's (Alice Haig) bombshell, as a stunned Barney (Lewis Bridgeman) took in the fact Teddy (Roland Manookian) isn't his father.
Ordering everyone out of the house, Barns' demanded some alone time with the man who raised him and had some serious questions about his upbringing.
The two had a heart to heart, breaking down in one another's arms. When Teddy explained that he had no intentions of telling him the truth about his paternity, and hoped to continue living a normal life, Barney was deeply hurt.
He told his 'dad' that he was sick of so many secrets being brushed under the carpet at No. 1, and wanted full transparency on what had blown them all apart in recent weeks.
Teddy opened up about Shireen Bashar's death and Nicola's (Laura Doddington) involvement, and Barney was disgusted. He began to ponder whether Teddy had ever doubted whether he was really his child, given so many differences between them.
Full of emotional, Teddy admitted that he had no idea, and has also suffered a huge loss. Barney needed some time to think, and rushed out.

Elsewhere, the aforementioned zombie emerged into Walford. It is, of course, Zack Hudson (James Farrar), who revealed to his nearest and dearest that he didn't drown in the epic lake stunt after all.
What he didn't realise was that Barney was right in front of him, and he struggled to find the words to speak to his son. After keeping it secret for so long, he hadn't actually considered how he would broach the subject.
As the atmosphere defrosted, and Zack dried off from his icy plunge, he detailed how he discovered the jaw-dropping revelation. Zack also told Barney about Nicola's attempts to silence him, branding her 'evil' and a 'psychopath'.
Explaining that he didn't think he was safe with the Mitchells, he divulged his plan for them to flee to Inverness and hoped Barns' would be on board.

Spooked by the prospect of a man he barely knows whisking him off to the other side of the country, he darted out onto Bridge Street and was caught between two families.
Nicola, Teddy and Harry (Elijah Holloway) were stood on one side, with Zack and Vicki on the other.
Both fathers pleaded their case, trying to bargain for Barney's attention. More Trending
As a physical fight began to emerge, Nicola ordered the men to stop and told them to consider what the teen wanted. It was his choice.
But who will he pick? Birth father Zack, or the man who raised him, Teddy?
Metro has decided to keep this spoiler a secret, and you can find out yourself by tuning into the episode.

EastEnders in schedule shake up as soap undergoes major change from next week
EastEnders won't be in it's usual Monday - Friday slot next week due to schedule changes on the BBC, but it's not the only major change the soap will see If you're planning to sit down for your daily dose of EastEnders next Monday (June 9), you may have to think again. The soap will be undergoing a schedule shake up next week. The BBC soap usually airs from Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm. Eager fans who can't wait until the evening have the option to watch the drama unfold from 6am on BBC iPlayer. However, next week the show will be airing on Tuesday - Friday due to the 2026 World Cup qualifier between Belgium and Wales, live from Brussels. Coverage will begin at 7:30 straight after The One Show, and will finish at 10pm just in time for the BBC News at 10. The first trip to Albert Square next week will be available to watch on iPlayer from 6am on Tuesday June 10. It's not the only huge change for the soap. Next Friday (June 13) will be executive producer Chris Clenshaw's last episode before Ben Wadey takes over. Last October, it was announced that Chris Clenshaw had made the decision to step down as Executive Producer in February 2025 once the soap has celebrated its 40th anniversary. It will be a memorable final episode for Chris, as Kat and Alfie prepare the knot once again. But will third time really be the charm for one of Walford's favourite couples? Chris returned to EastEnders taking on the role as Executive Producer in January 2022. During his time as producer, Chris created many bold and storylines that will go down in the show's history, including The Six flashforward whodunit, and the return of Cindy Beale. He also brought back favourites including Jacqueline Jossa, Shane Richie, Angela Wynter and Patsy Palmer. Speaking of his decision to leave, Chris Clenshaw said: 'As a proud EastEnders fan, it has been the honour of my life to be its custodian. It has meant everything to me, and I've given Walford my all. I made the tough decision that I would step down after the 40th anniversary many months ago – to keep EastEnders creatively refreshed as it's a show that needs to constantly evolve. After what will be three years at the helm and leading the team through its milestone celebrations, the time feels right that I hand over the keys to The Queen Vic. "Elstree holds a special place in my heart, and I know when the day comes, it'll be hard to tear myself away. My special thanks go to the sensational EastEnders cast and crew that I'm incredibly proud to have led over the past few years, and who have provided me with unwavering support. Their commitment, passion and talent has inspired me every day, and I am so grateful to them and proud of everything that we've achieved together.

Owen Wilson reacts to series being compared to ‘one of TV's biggest shows ever'
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Living up to the reputation of one of the biggest shows ever to be released on TV is no mean feat. But that's the task that lies ahead for Apple TV Plus' latest comedy Stick, which people immediately started comparing to the global hit Ted Lasso as soon as a trailer was released. Starring and executive produced by Owen Wilson, the newly-launched series follows former pro golfer Pryce Cahill (played by the Wedding Crashers star), who spots greatness in wonderkid Santi Wheeler (Peter Dager) and decides to take him under his wing. It's giving Happy Gilmore merged with a dash of Jason Sudeikis' Ted Lasso, so when Metro sat down for an exclusive chat with Owen and his co-star Judy Greer, we had to find out what they thought of the comparisons. Having personally spent many hours of my childhood watching Adam Sandler spark chaos on the golf course, and then years later found myself crying over a fictional football team, Stick felt like everything I could want in a comfort watch by seemingly combining the two. 'I love the show,' Owen, 56, said when asked how he feels about Stick being compared to Ted Lasso, which was reported to have scored 16.9 billion minutes viewed in 2023. 'So, of course, you would hope that the show could connect with people in that way.' The Loki star continued: 'What made me like that show, there was this kindness, and obviously this humour to it, that just made it really unusual. I do think, with our show Stick, there's funny stuff, and there's also heart and some emotion. I think there's a kindness to it that is nice in these times.' Owen is joined in Stick by What Women Want and 13 Going On 30 actress Judy, who plays Pryce's ex-wife Amber-Linn, who remains a crucial part of his life despite their separation. Judy, 49, agreed with the idea that watching Stick gives viewers a sense of nostalgia, as it reminds them of other 'underdog stories', like the 2005 sports comedy Bad News Bears. 'I'm always happy to be compared to super popular, successful TV shows and movies. So I'm all for it, but I do think that there is something timeless about the story of Stick,' she shared. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'That is probably why people are finding those comparisons easy to make. Because there is something like the underdog, about recognising young talent, about redemption, about relationships, about choosing a family, as opposed to getting handed a family. And then everyone loves a good road trip comedy. So there's that sprinkled on top.' As you might expect from a sporting underdog story, Stick is a fun and light-hearted watch, but it also comes with buckets of emotion that'll tug on the heartstrings. One aspect of filming Stick that hit Owen the hardest was the scenes that he shared with Judy, when her character Amber-Linn decides to support her ex-husband Pryce by investing in his new venture. 'In my life, I've benefited so much from people believing in me and giving me a chance. So the scenes with Judy, believing in me enough to put money into this crazy idea I have, that's a moving thing,' he said. Judy, on the other hand, found herself stirred by a scene that she wasn't even a part of when Pryce hears Santi hit a golf ball for the first time in the opening episode, and is blown away. Before speaking to Owen and Judy, I was astonished when I realised that I'd never seen them together in a project… the exception being when they both starred in the 2010 film Marmaduke. However, Owen was voicing the titular animated dog, so they didn't get the chance to share the screen. 'It's like when people ask me about Paul Newman in Cars. Well, he wasn't ever there,' Owen said, comparing Marmaduke to the 2006 Pixar movie where he voiced the racecar Lightning McQueen opposite Paul Newman as Doc Hudson. 'Getting to work in real life together, it was just very easy,' he said of working with Judy. 'We just hit it off. Sometimes somebody has a different process than you have, or the way they're saying it, that's not the way I heard it in my head. But in my head, every time I would hear Judy, it was like, yeah, that's better than I heard. That's good, I can do something with that. So it was just nice. It was easy,' he outlined. Apple TV Plus appears to be playing the long game with Stick (pun intended), releasing the first three episodes on the premiere date, before the following instalments come out weekly. More Trending Chances are that word might spread over the next few weeks as more and more people find out about the golf comedy and recommend it to their friends, and perhaps start pondering whether it could return for a second season. 'You never know,' Owen remarked over the possibility of a season two, suggesting Australia and the UK as possible filming locations in the future. Given he's also an executive producer on the project, perhaps he'll have the sway to make it happen. Alexis Mac Allister gives away No.10 shirt after Florian Wirtz's angry response
Florian Wirtz has hit out at claims that he wants to take the Liverpool No.10 shirt from Alexis Mac Allister should he complete his transfer to Liverpool this summer Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister has generously gifted his Reds No. 10 shirt - but not to Florian Wirtz. Germany international Wirtz continues to be strongly linked with a club record breaking move to the Reds this summer, with all parties hopeful the move can be signed off in the coming days. Both Mac Allister and Wirtz currently don the No. 10 for their respective teams, sparking rumours that Wirtz might fancy the same number at Liverpool should he make the switch to Anfield. the man himself has dismissed the suggestions outright. An irritated Wirtz took to Instagram on Tuesday to address the chatter, subtly suggesting a transfer might be in the pipeline while also dismissing claims about his shirt number preference: "Who says I want the 10, I respect players," Wirtz posted. "Don't believe everything what's written [clown emoji]." Shortly afterwards, professional Argentine Padel player Alex Chozas expressed his gratitude to Mac Allister for receiving a signed Liverpool shirt from him, Posting on Instagram, he wrote: "Thank you [Mac Allister] for this unforgettable afternoon. You now have a Padel to play with, I hope you like it! "Thanks for your Liverpool shirt, you're a star on and off the pitch, my friend. Get well soon, CHAMPION." With their shirts held up high for the camera, Mac Allister and Chozas shared a snapshot on social media, showcasing their mutual appreciation. The Liverpool midfielder chimed in with encouragement for his mate: "Great, crazy! Keep up the good work," penned Mac Allister. After playing a key role in Liverpool's triumphant Premier League campaign, Mac Allister is now soaking up the summer sun. He is currently absent from the Argentina squad as he recuperates from an injury that prevented him from starting any of the four matches Liverpool played after they secured the Premier League title, missing the last two entirely.
