Spring Venture Services has launched Cohort 9 of 'Raise: The Art of Fundraising' supported by The Labour Fund (Tamkeen). The program is a two-week intensive bootcamp designed to equip Bahraini startup founders with the skills and knowledge needed to secure investment and scale their businesses. 'Raise' Program prepares Bahraini startups to pitch at the ongoing StartUp Bahrain Pitch Series. The program is facilitated by Spring Venture Services, and global venture capital firm Salica Investments, empowering founders with tailored, hands-on mentorship in pitching, and business modeling, alongside access to MENA's leading investors to equip them with the tools and networks needed to accelerate their startup journey and achieve long-term success. This partnership aligns with Tamkeen's strategic priorities for 2025, which focus on enhancing the position and competitiveness of Bahrainis in the private sector, equipping Bahrainis with suitable skills for career development in the private sector, and prioritizing enterprise growth, digitization, and sustainability, and supporting the development of the ecosystem surrounding the labor market and private sector. Since its inception, 'Raise' has successfully conducted 7 bootcamps in preparation for 16 StartUp Bahrain Pitch events, helping 115 startups refine their investor readiness and secure essential funding. The program offers a comprehensive learning experience through interactive workshops, engaging fireside chats, and personalized one-on-one office hours providing founders with the essential skills to master fundraising, refine their pitch, and build a winning business strategy. A key highlight of the program is the StartUp Bahrain Pitch Series, where participating startups will have the opportunity to showcase their businesses before an esteemed panel of judges and an influential audience. These events are organised in collaboration with key industry stakeholders, including the Ministry of Industry & Commerce, the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), Bahrain Economic Development Board, and Bahrain Development Bank (BDB), and StartUp Bahrain. Seven in ten Bahraini workers are under 40
A youthful workforce continues to shape Bahrain's labour market, with seven in ten Bahraini employees under 40 in the first quarter of 2025, new government data reveal. Across the public and private sectors, 155,596 Bahrainis were in employment, of whom 107,963 were under 40. The public sector employed 51,138 Bahrainis, with 30,470 under 40, accounting for 60%. The private sector, by contrast, counted 104,458 workers, including 77,493 under 40, or 74.1% of its workforce. The largest age group among employees was 30 to 39, representi n g 41%, fol - lowed by those aged 20 to 29 at 28%. Only 1,140 insured Bahrainis were under 20, or 0.7% of the total. In terms of gender, men made up 58% of the workforce (89,886), while women accounted for 42% (65,710). Among older age groups, 34,055 Bahrainis were aged 40 to 49 (22%), and 11,583 were 50 to 59 (7%). The data highlight the strong presence of younger Bahrainis, particularly in the private sector, reflecting a workforce increasingly dominated by early and mid-career professionals.

CBB opens applications for its first graduate development program 'GP15'
The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has announced that registration is now open for the first edition of its Graduate Development Program 'GP15.' The initiative supports the CBB's ongoing commitment to empowering Bahraini youth, in line with its priorities to foster innovation, digital transformation, and build a skilled, future-ready workforce. The program targets Bahrainis who have graduated from local and international universities within the last two years with a Bachelor's degree in any specialization, and a minimum GPA of 3.25. As part of the first edition of the program, 15 candidates will be selected through a comprehensive evaluation process including an aptitude test and interviews, to ensure the participants are the best fit for the program. Selected graduates will take part in a six-month internship opportunity, where they will work across various functions within the CBB, and engage in practical workplace simulations. Participants will also attend workshops and site visits aimed at strengthening their analytical skills, financial literacy, and understanding of banking strategies. Commenting on the occasion, Mrs. Fatema Mohamed Ali, Director of Human Resources at CBB and Program Manager, said: 'We encourage ambitious Bahraini graduates to take advantage of this opportunity to gain valuable experience and develop their careers in the financial services sector. This program reflects the CBB's dedication to investing in national talent and preparing future leaders who will drive industry growth and innovation.'
