Olly Murs goes missing from radio show after wild night of partying
The former X-Factor runner-up, 41, usually presents his breakfast radio show on Saturday mornings with TOWIE star Mark Wright from 9am – 12pm.
However, he left his partner-in-presenting in the lurch this weekend after staying out to celebrate the release of new song Save Me.
Released on July 25, this is Olly's first single since 2022, three years after his last studio album, Marry Me.
His new song comes only a few months after he announced that he and wife Amelia are expecting their second child together.
It's no wonder Olly felt like celebrating… although that left partner Mark with a very empty chair in the morning.
With Olly absent, Mark began: 'So if you've been listening to Heart this morning, you'll know that my co-host Mr Olly Murs isn't in.
In a clip shared to the station's Instagram, he then shared footage of Olly partying in a busy bar or pub.
'No one can find him. Didn't know where he was. And someone has just sent this into the studio. Him out last night, caught on CCTV in a bar or a pub,' Mark explained.
'So he's obviously out, had a late night and not turned up to the studio. Very professional Olly Murs, I like it. Yeah, very good.'
Back home, Olly took to Instagram to reflect on the night before.
In an Instagram Story, he wrote: 'Last night was mad! Might've gone a bit too hard while celebrating the new single coming out with the boys…
'Also seem to have lost my wallet if anyone finds it.'
He then shared Heart Radio's clip of Mark, with the caption: 'can't believe I missed the show today. Man does my head hurt!' https://www.instagram.com/p/DMQqdCFMtfW/?hl=en
A video shared to his feed showed the clip of Olly at the bar in full, surrounded by mates as they apparently imitated the iconic 'detention dance' from the film The Breakfast Club.
'best nioight evrrrrr 🍻🍻🍻' read Olly-s caption.
Note the beer emojis.
Between the impending release of his new song and the announcement of his wife's second pregnancy, it's been a busy time for the Dance With Me Tonight hitmaker.
Earlier this year, Olly also unveiled a surprising physical transformation.
In a video posted to Instagram, he could be seen doing pull-ups, boxing, cycling and lifting weights in the gym, looking more 'shredded' than he had 12 months prior.
Olly's nutritionist, Greg, also posted a side-by-side of Olly's progress, showing his body pre-training plan and after three months. More Trending
'12 weeks to shredded and pumped!!' read the caption.
Olly met bodybuilder wife Amelia at the same gym, and tied the knot in 2023.
Last April, they welcomed their first child together, daughter Madison. One year later, and they had more baby news to share – Amelia is pregnant with their second child.
Sharing the news on his Instagram account with a black-and-white picture of the family on an Easter walk together, Olly wrote: 'We're so egg-cited to share this..… Another Baby Murs on the way.'

I'm a mum & I was torn to pieces over the gift I gave my kid's teacher – people called me cheap but it's not about money

It has become common for parents to buy gifts for teachers as a thank you for all they've done. But it seems Heidi's gifts didn't hit the mark. Taking to Instagram, she shared an image of the goodies she got for the teachers. In the image, it showed three wrapped sweets all themed around school. The first was a sugar cookie iced to look like a sheet of paper with an 'A' grade. She also picked up a sweet shaped as a pencil as well as a red apple. But her sweet gesture received an overwhelming negative response. One person said 'this irritates me to no end' and urged parents 'don't give teachers s**t like this' as they thought that cash or gift cards was a more appropriate reward. Someone else said the post had them 'riled up' because they'd once been the person who had agonised over a 'perfect, most thoughtful end-of-year gift'. Watch as ex-teacher reveals why she quit and doubled her income They said they now look to see if the school has an Amazon Wish List of supplies to really help teachers out and spare them from needing to fork over their own money. Another parent said the best sort of gift was 'a thoughtful note from the student', and if it was going to be something material, it had better be a gift card or cash. Others said they thought Powell's gift of brightly coloured sweets had been chosen to 'look nice on Instagram'. A baker even chipped in to say that the 'cutesy sweets offerings' might look nice, but were probably not great to eat, saying they were pretty much 'inedible' and coated in 'a really cheap sugar product that can hold a lot of dye'. Quite a few teachers chipped in to say that food would probably end up being thrown away or deposited in the teacher's lounge and they said 'please no mugs' to parents or pupils on the lookout for gift ideas. Despite the negative comments, the mum praised teachers for their hard work over the year, proving it was the thought that counts.
