Cheryl's ex-husband shares rare photo of her almost a decade on from bitter split

Daily Record25-05-2025

Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, who was married to Cheryl for two years, took to social media to share a photo of them together almost a decade after they split.
Nearly a decade after their split, Cheryl 's former spouse Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini has shared an intriguing photograph of the pair. The French restaurant owner, 44, was wed to the Girls Aloud star, 41, for a span from 2014 until 2016.
Despite parting ways nine years ago, Jean-Bernard, nicknamed JB by Cheryl, took to his Instagram stories to post an old picture with his ex-partner. In the image, a smartly-dressed JB dons dark trousers and a navy bomber jacket while holding hands with a beaming Cheryl, who is clad in a zesty lemon yellow frock paired with black peep-toe shoe boots.

However, it seems he may be longing for his lost clothing rather than his former flame, cheekily inquiring of his 46,000 followers: "Where is this jacket?".

Remarkably, the French entrepreneur did not initially recognise Cheryl upon their encounter at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014. Following an intense three-month courtship, they secretly wed on Mustique, a Caribbean isle, in July that same year.
The intimacy of the affair was such that only four people were present, which included Cheryl's cherished mother Joan and Lily England, her aide and confidante, reports the Mirror.
At the time, Cheryl announced on Twitter: "I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news... Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14."
The singer also expressed: "We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together." But just one year on, whispers began to spread that Cheryl and JB were experiencing turbulent times after JB was noticeably absent from The X Factor recordings, with Cheryl at the judges' table during that period.
In October 2015, Cheryl and JB stepped out together for what would be one of their last public appearances at Ant and Dec's 40th birthday celebrations, following several weeks without any sightings. There were reports that JB had vacated the London property he shared with Cheryl, opting to spend more time in the US.

Come January 2016, it emerged that the couple were heading for a divorce, with Cheryl pointing to "irreconcilable differences" as the grounds for their split.
Cheryl later found happiness with former One Direction heartthrob Liam Payne, with whom she shares her eight-year-old son Bear. In 2018, she revealed that out of all her partners, only Liam had remained faithful to her; however, the pair parted ways the same year.

The music world mourned in October last year when Liam tragically passed away at age 31 after an accident from a hotel balcony in Argentina.
Prior to her relationship with JB, Cheryl was married to footballer Ashley Cole from 2006 until their divorce in 2010, where "unreasonable behaviour" was documented as her cause for action. Now 44, Ashley confessed to being unfaithful multiple times during their marriage.
However, it was a particular remark concerning infidelity that provoked JB's response in November 2018, denying allegations of unfaithfulness towards the songstress. A confidant of JB countered the claims to the press by maintaining he's "never cheated" and regards his marriage as "sacred to me".
The mate voiced back then that JB was tired of being held accountable for Cheryl's troubles, insinuating she "needs to blame somebody". The Sun carried a caution from JB directed at Cheryl: "If we all start telling the truth then she will have a problem."

Alexis Mac Allister gives away No.10 shirt after Florian Wirtz's angry response

Florian Wirtz has hit out at claims that he wants to take the Liverpool No.10 shirt from Alexis Mac Allister should he complete his transfer to Liverpool this summer Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister has generously gifted his Reds No. 10 shirt - but not to Florian Wirtz. Germany international Wirtz continues to be strongly linked with a club record breaking move to the Reds this summer, with all parties hopeful the move can be signed off in the coming days. ‌ Both Mac Allister and Wirtz currently don the No. 10 for their respective teams, sparking rumours that Wirtz might fancy the same number at Liverpool should he make the switch to Anfield. ‌ the man himself has dismissed the suggestions outright. An irritated Wirtz took to Instagram on Tuesday to address the chatter, subtly suggesting a transfer might be in the pipeline while also dismissing claims about his shirt number preference: "Who says I want the 10, I respect players," Wirtz posted. "Don't believe everything what's written [clown emoji]." Shortly afterwards, professional Argentine Padel player Alex Chozas expressed his gratitude to Mac Allister for receiving a signed Liverpool shirt from him, Posting on Instagram, he wrote: "Thank you [Mac Allister] for this unforgettable afternoon. You now have a Padel to play with, I hope you like it! "Thanks for your Liverpool shirt, you're a star on and off the pitch, my friend. Get well soon, CHAMPION." ‌ With their shirts held up high for the camera, Mac Allister and Chozas shared a snapshot on social media, showcasing their mutual appreciation. The Liverpool midfielder chimed in with encouragement for his mate: "Great, crazy! Keep up the good work," penned Mac Allister. After playing a key role in Liverpool's triumphant Premier League campaign, Mac Allister is now soaking up the summer sun. Tennis star Lois Boisson told she 'smells really bad' before stunning French Open Lois Boisson was ranked 361st in the world ahead of the tournament but a fairytale run has seen her soar up the rankings Lois Boisson (L) of France embraces Mirra Andreeva after her victory (Image: 2025 Andy Cheung ) French Open wildcard Lois Boisson has stunned the Roland Garros crowd again by sealing another shock win over world number six Mirra Andreeva to make it through to the women's singles semi-finals. The 22-year-old, who was ranked 361st in the world ahead of the tournament, continued her fairytale run as she battled back to upset 18-year-old Andreeva and claim a 7-6(6), 6-3 win. Having become the first player in the Open Era to reach the semi-finals of the event as a wildcard, she will now face world number two Coco Gauff in the last four. ‌ Boisson has also become the youngest French women's semi-finalist at a Grand Slam for 26 years, while she has now soared a huge 296 places up the rankings to a projected new career-high of 65th. ‌ After battling to victory in front of a home crowd, Boisson was blown away by the support she had received as she reflected on her phenomenal achievement. 'It was unbelievable, it was amazing to feel supported like this," she said in her post-match interview. "I have no words to describe that feeling. 'Whatever the situation last year and difficult moments we went through, it's unbelievable to come from there, but it's also thanks to my team who supported me. It's thanks to all of us, really. Article continues below "I think I ran a bit too much because I was so tense.," Boisson added as she analysed her performance. "It was difficult to hit the ball from the racket. I fought hard. "The first set was very intense and at the beginning of the second set, I was really tired. But in the end, I managed to recover and to finish as I did. 'Well, I'm going to try and recover, see the physios, there's six physios in my box. So I have plenty of choice.' ‌ Boisson is through to the French Open semi-finals after another stunning win Boisson - who had already beaten third seed Jessica Pegula on her way to the quarter-final - was a relative unknown ahead of the tournament but hit headlines earlier this year when she was accused of "smelling really bad" by British star Harriet Dart. The two went head-to-head at the Roeun Open in April, with Boisson coming out on top with a 6-0, 6-3 upset win. ‌ However, it was a comment made by Dart during a changeover in the second set that caused controversy, as she was heard asking the umpire: "Can you ask her to to put on deodorant? She smells really bad." Dart was slammed for her comments and she later apologised in a statement on social media, writing: "I want to apologise for what I said on court today, it was a heat-of-the-moment comment that I truly regret. "That's not how I want to carry myself, and I take full responsibility. I have a lot of respect for Lois and how she competed today. I'll learn from this and move forward." Article continues below Boisson later made light of the incident as she shared an edited photo of her holding deodorant and told toiletries company Dove that they "need a collab".
