Battlefield 6 reveal trailer is live now, with multiplayer showcase to follow

Metro24-07-2025
After dropping a new trailer, EA calls next week's Battlefield 6 multiplayer presentation the 'biggest moment' in the series' history.
EA has been hyping up its next Battlefield game, recently confirmed to be called Battlefield 6, for quite a while but has so far kept a lot of details close to its chest, beyond a brief gameplay tease and plans for a public beta test.
Most info has leaked from private test sessions and datamines, including Battlefield 6's purported October 10 release date. Just a couple of days ago though, EA finally promised an official reveal trailer for the game.
That trailer is now live and if you feel it doesn't show enough, EA has confirmed that a 'blockbuster' multiplayer reveal is already scheduled to take place in the very near future.
There is some gameplay to be enjoyed in the trailer, with the series' trademark destruction effects getting particular focus and still looking impressive, but just as much time is spent on cinematics.
These will be part of the new single-player campaign, something that was notably absent from the last game – Battlefield 2042 – so that's already one point in Battlefield 6's favour.

We couldn't tell you what the story's about beyond soldiers fighting one another, but the trailer does give a first look at private military company Pax Armata.
From EA's description, Pax Armata will serve as antagonists as they are 'bankrolled by former NATO states whose agenda threatens to throw the world into global conflict.'
A Battlefield 6 multiplayer showcase is scheduled to take place next week on Thursday, July 31. So, the good news is you don't need to wait long for it.
The bad news is that you'll need to be up very early in the morning to watch it live, since it airs at 7:30 in the morning.
Calling it the 'biggest moment in Battlefield history', all EA is saying is that the showcase will show off some of Battlefield 6's maps, new and returning gameplay modes, and more besides.
This will be followed by gameplay streams from content creators who have been given early access to Battlefield 6, with yet another event scheduled to run on August 2 in Hong Kong.
With EA touting Battlefield 6 as the 'ultimate all-out warfare experience' and the 'most ambitious title in the series' history', the company clearly has high expectations for the game. More Trending
After all, it has no less than four studios working on it. Aside from series developer DICE, Motive Studio, Ripple Effect, and even Need For Speed's Criterion Games have been enlisted, with all of them working under the banner Battlefield Studios.
Not to mention a report from earlier this month alleged that EA higher-ups are hoping Battlefield 6 will attract at least 100 million players; a number no doubt inspired by the popularity of games like Fortnite.
EA has not provided an official release date yet, but if that datamined October 10 date is accurate, then the company is confident enough to go head-to-head with Call Of Duty – relatively speaking.
This year's entry, Black Ops 7, also lacks a release date, but Call Of Duty games typically launch later in autumn, and one rumour points to it arriving on November 14.

GTA Online will add age verification to comply with UK laws claims insider

Rockstar is said to be planning an age verification system for GTA Online, with GTA 6 rumoured to be following suit for its online mode. While GTA 6 is expected to come with its own dedicated online multiplayer mode, it's currently unknown whether that will be something separate from GTA Online or just an extension of it. Will GTA Online be shut down and you'll be forced to hop over to GTA Online 2? Or is the playerbase substantial enough for Rockstar to keep supporting both? Hopefully, Rockstar will have an answer before GTA 6's launch in May 2026, although a new rumour suggests that big changes are coming to the way GTA's online features are accessed, particularly in the UK. The rumour comes from noted Rockstar dataminer Tez2, who believes they've found evidence of age verification for GTA Online within the game's files. 'Rockstar is planning to implement age assurance checks in the near future, rolling them out by region,' Tez2 writes on X. 'You may need to verify your age to access GTA Online, or certain features, like phone messages, text chat, Snapmatic, may be restricted until you verify your age.' Jokes aside, Rockstar is planning to implement age assurance checks in the near future, rolling them out by may need to verify your age to access #GTAOnline, or certain features, like phone messages, text chat, Snapmatic, may be restricted until you verify your age. — Tez2 (@TezFunz2) July 31, 2025 While GTA Online (and by extension GTA 5) has an age rating of 18, there is technically nothing stopping you from playing the game regardless of age, should an older relative buy it for you. However, if this age verification is implemented, adult players will need to provide proof that they are old enough to play GTA Online, while younger players would be locked out entirely. Tez2's claims sound perfectly believable considering recent changes made across the internet thanks to the UK's Online Safety Act. While a lot of focus has been on porn sites needing to ask users for their ID, social media sites have been affected too. More Trending Bluesky, for instance, now demands you either provide your credit card details or a scan of your face to send direct messages. Any businesses that don't comply with the law not only face fines from Ofcom, but also the possibility of being shut down and unable to operate in the UK. The changes have proved unpopular enough to prompt over 400,000 people to sign a petition to have them repealed, citing concerns over cybersecurity and restrictions on free speech. Rockstar has not formally commented on the matter but considering GTA Online features a lot of mature content, including an in-game stirp club, it could very well be facing pressure to comply with the UK's laws. If age verification is implemented, then GTA 6 and its online mode would no doubt have to follow suit. GTA 6 is expected to make a lot – and we mean a lot – of money when it launches and Rockstar's not going to want its game to be barred from sale in a big market like the UK. Battlefield 6 'doesn't need Nicki Minaj' says dev in knock against Call Of Duty

Fans of Battlefield 6 are worried the new game will pull a Call Of Duty when it comes to crossover skins, but the developer insists it will remain 'grounded'. According to current rumours EA is expecting to attract up to 100 million players to Battlefield 6, when it's released in October. That's orders of magnitude more than any previous entry in the series and more akin to the numbers enjoyed by the likes of Call Of Duty and Fortnite. Some influence from those games can already be seen in Battlefield 6, as the sequel will feature a separate battle royale mode. That isn't necessarily a bad idea but it has many fans worried that Battlefield may pick up some of Call Of Duty's other bad habits, especially when it comes to paid-for skins. Call Of Duty and Fortnite are known, for better and worse, for mountains of cosmetic skins based on movie stars, cartoon characters, real-life celebrities, and much more. Call Of Duty fans are getting increasingly fed up with the trend and it seems Battlefield 6 will be purposefully avoiding it. Speaking with DBLTAP during a recent London event, Battlefield 6 design director Shashank Uchil (who's been working on the series since 2018's Battlefield 5) expressed a disinterest in any sort of wacky crossovers for the game, insisting the game will remain 'grounded.' 'It has to be grounded. That is what Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 was – it was all soldiers, on the ground,' said Uchil. 'I don't think it needs Nicki Minaj. Let's keep it real, keep it grounded.' That second bit is a very pointed reference to how Activision added rapper Nicki Minaj as a playable skin in 2022's Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Not even as a character, but as herself and not in any sort of military wear. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. Battlefield Studios head Vince Zampella (who famously helped create Call Of Duty) was also quizzed by Eurogamer about the possibility of crossover skins. 'We want to be true to Battlefield, we want this fantasy to feel like you'd expect of Battlefield, so that's what we've been focused on,' he answered. While it can feel like Call Of Duty fans are always complaining about something with each new game, the series' use of crossover skins has been a point of contention for many years now. Things started off with celebrity cameos like Lewis Hamilton and various footballers, but as the years went on the skins became more and more fantastical. It was one thing when Call Of Duty was adding action heroes like Rambo and John McClane, who at least somewhat fit with the series' aesthetic, but now you have the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and cartoon characters like Beavis and Butthead running around shooting one another in Call Of Duty's otherwise realistic looking maps. There's no shortage of Call Of Duty fans hating on these sort of skins online, with the Beavis and Butthead ones prompting a Reddit thread labelled 'COD is cooked' with more than 8,000 upvotes. 'I was fine with the future tech, the anime, I reluctantly accepted the animal and mascot characters but… f***ing giant glowy cartoon character? Really?' reads the top comment. 'I remember coming around a corner and seeing Nicki Minaj knifing some dude and just turned the game off. It was the last time I played COD,' reads another. COD is Cooked [COD] byu/Purehate28 inCallOfDuty A separate thread from nine months ago innocently asked fans what their favourite Call Of Duty collab has been and while there are plenty legitimate answers, a lot of comments are people answering with none of them. The top comment is just a blunt 'No', with the second most upvoted being, 'None, I hate annoying skins, let alone crossovers.' As a result, a rumour from April, courtesy of frequent Call Of Duty insider GhostOfHope, suggests that despite the crossovers 'printing money,' Activision plans to rein them in because of fan complaints. By comparison, Battlefield fans have been elated at just how ordinary the skins for Battlefield 6 look so far. When the first line-up of skins leaked earlier this week, fans on Reddit praised them for looking like… generic soldiers. One comment simply reads, 'I love them, I love them, I love them,' while another says, 'Finally no weird operators, just plain anonymous soldiers.' That said, there remain concerns that EA will opt to sell weird crossover skins later down the line. After all, the reason Call Of Duty and Fortnite keep doing them is that despite the complaints plenty of people are willing to pay good money for them. More Trending 'The moment I see Nicki Minaj running through the map holding an M16, I'm out,' says one fan, with someone predicting it'll happen in just six months. Another fan writes, 'Modern military skins is totally okay, but that's a big no if we see some other characters for instance from Squid Game, Beavis & Butthead, Diablo 3, etc., etc. with anime guns and/or some other funky/pop/arcade things.' It's worth noting that Battlefield has dabbled in crossovers before, with Battlefield 2042 receiving skins based on Dead Space and Mass Effect. However, those are EA owned franchises and at least vaguely fit Battlefield's near future aesthetic. Even so, while the Battlefield 6 team might be disinterested in copying Call Of Duty's example when it comes to collabs, the higher-ups may have different ideas, especially if they want to market the game to a wider audience beyond the established fanbase. EA FC 26 Career Mode new features – gameplay overhaul, manager market and deeper simulation

The latest EA FC 26 Career Mode changes are in, with updates being made to gameplay, scouting, and how developing players works. From a new style of gameplay to a new live game mode, there are a bunch of big updates and changes coming to EA FC 26 Career Mode ‌ Career Mode is one of the most popular ways to play EA Sports FC, but EA Sports has come under fire from the Career Mode community over the last few years for only getting minor updates, with an online career mode being the biggest request from the community. Well, after speaking with the EA FC 26 developers and getting hands-on with EA FC 26 at the EA HQ in Vancouver, I can confirm an online career mode won't be coming to EA FC 26, but there are a host of other updates being made. ‌ As well as Career Mode, big updates have been confirmed for gameplay and Clubs in EA FC 26, while we should learn about new Ultimate Team features very soon. ‌ Every new feature for EA FC 26 Career Mode These are 26 changes coming to Career Mode in EA FC 26. Authentic gameplay Firstly, and the biggest change of all, is that the gameplay is being completely overhauled for EA FC 26 Career Mode, and I'm sure this is an update that will be seen as fantastic for the Career Mode Community. In EA FC 26, gameplay is being split into two – competitive gameplay and authentic gameplay. Authentic gameplay applies to career mode, meaning the game will be a slower-paced, more true-to-life version of football. This helps bring more realism to the game, something which is needed in Career Mode. Manager Live A new Manager Live mode is coming to the game, where players can take on challenges from the real world. From winning the league to making the average age of your squad 23 or younger, there's a host of different challenges available in Manager Live. Manager Live reflects the changing world of football across the season, with challenges either short-term or long-term, with some taking up to three seasons to complete. EA is aiming to release 150 challenges weekly for players to complete in Manager Live, with rewards on offer for completing these challenges. Some of the rewards include retro kits, which you can use for your respective team in Manager Career. Manager Live will see a Road to Glory mode introduced in Manager Career. Road to glory is one of the most popular ways to play Career Mode, so you can now pick up rewards for playing how you usually would. Big win! ‌ Manager Market A manager market is also coming to EA FC 26. Using the manager market, you can see every manager's job security, what objectives they need to achieve, and their tactics. Doing this also helps if you're looking for a job, as you can see what jobs may be available soon, the job expectations, and the likelihood that you will be hired. Managers can be fired, retire, or leave clubs in Manager Career, meaning we can expect to see a lot more managerial changes in EA FC 26. Caretaker managers are being introduced as well, so if a manager leaves for whatever reason, a caretaker will become manager, and if they do well, they can stay at the club as the permanent manager. Each manager will have a profile that includes a rating and tactical vision. For example, if Diego Simeone left Atletico Madrid, the club will look for a new manager of a similar rating and tactical vision. If no managers with the same vision are available, the club will hire someone else, and potentially change its tactics and club philosophy for good. ‌ You can edit the names and details of managers you aren't controlling. There won't be a free agents section for managers in EA FC 26 due to licensing issues, so you may need to try and find Jurgen Klopp's doppelganger and rename him if you want to add him to the game. Unexpected events Another new feature called Unexpected Events is coming to EA FC 26, and this may be my favourite new addition. There are set to be about 40 Unexpected Events at launch, with these throwing challenges the manager's way out of the blue. Some of the examples of Unexpected Events include injuries on international duty, a chairman wanting to get involved in tactics and transfers, and a Tottenham-esque Lasagne-gate, where a chunk of the squad gets food poisoning. It's about how you react and overcome these challenges. ‌ Icons and Heroes Icons and Heroes are coming to Manager Career Mode. They were introduced in EA FC 25 for Player Career Mode, but now, as rewards from Manager Live challenges, you can earn Icons and Heroes as playable players for your Manager Career. They are delivered across the season, with up to 200 icons and heroes available across the 10 FC Seasons. When you unlock these Icons and Heroes, they will be signed with their prime rating and at their prime age. Deeper stats and smarter AI You can now view deeper stats in EA FC 26, so for the first time, we can view all of the player and team stats from other leagues. This includes top goalscorers, assists, clean sheets and even average rating. The new deeper stats feature will change how scouting works. Select up to five leagues for deeper simulation, and then view these players' detailed stats to help with scouting. You can even scout directly from the deeper stats page. ‌ AI transfers will be smarter in EA FC 26. Say, for example, Liverpool want to sign a right-back in the transfer market. Well, they won't go and sign five of them in one window now, like they sometimes did in EA FC 25. Archetypes Archetypes are coming to FC 26 Player Career Mode, replacing the current player progression system. Archetypes define how your player grows in-game, with this also replacing the skill tree in Clubs. There are 13 archetypes available from launch. These are: ‌ Magician Finisher Target Recyclier Maestro Creator Spark Progressor Boss Engine Marauder Shot Stopper Sweeper Keeper How you start a Player Career Mode is changing. Personality types remain, but when you start the game you will choose your origin story, physical attributes, club, archetype and position. Some new origin stories are also being introduced, including Rising Star and Hand of God (which is for goalkeepers). And everything else Be a Goalkeeper has been overhauled, meaning there are more controls and commands available to use if you are a goalkeeper in Player Career Mode. A few more menu shortcuts have been added to improve the quality of life for players in-game, while player roles can now be changed in Manager Career Mode without influencing the practical vision. Youth tournaments can now be played in different stadiums in different sizes, adding a bit of variety and more importance to bigger games, and after being added in EA FC 25, more Live Start Points will be added in EA FC 26. Lastly, Online Career Mode will not be coming in FC 26. We were told by EA Sports Line Producer Andreas Wilsdorf that it's something that's always being brainstormed in the background, but EA didn't consider it for EA FC 26.
