Iron Man, Captain America's Return To MCU? Kevin Feige Answers
Kevin Feige confirmed that Avengers: Doomsday will act as a 'reset' for the MCU.
Robert Downey Jr is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) but not as Tony Stark. The actor will be seen playing the antagonist Dr Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, in a recent chat, though, confirmed that Marvel is getting ready to make big changes after Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027.
The conversation took place as a promotional endeavour for the upcoming film The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which officially starts phase six of the franchise.
Kevin Feige confirmed that Avengers: Doomsday will act as a 'reset" for the MCU. It will not be a reboot, as Feige stressed, saying that 'reboot is a scary word." During a media interaction, the studio head confirmed the new actors would take over the roles of the X-Men, and even iconic characters like Tony Stark (Iron Man) and Steve Rogers (Captain America) will be seen in fresh roles in the recast.
As per Variety, when asked whether new actors would be cast in important roles like Iron Man or Captain America in Avengers: Doomsday, Feige added it'd be a tough ask. He said, 'I think it's hard for anybody to do that when an actor has done such a great role," adding, 'How are they going to ever replace Sean Connery [as James Bond], right?"
'We're utilising that [story] not just to round out the stories we've been telling post-Endgame, just as importantly — and you can look at the Secret Wars comics for where that takes you — it very, very much sets us up for the future," Feige added.
He revealed, 'Endgame, literally, was about endings. Secret Wars is about beginnings."
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the most successful film franchises worldwide, with a collection of over $32 billion credited to its name. With five phases containing 36 films already ended, it is now set for the sixth phase with The Fantastic Four releasing next week.

'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' box office collection Day 1: Marvel superhero film scores Rs 5 crore opening amidst 'Saiyaara' sweep
Marvel Studios' 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps', arrived in Indian theatres amid the ongoing 'Saiyaara' frenzy and secured a modest start to its box office run. The film that is the third reboot of the superhero franchise, scored an impressive Rs 5.10 crore India net on its opening day, according to early estimates on Sacnilk. The film, with its all-new cast, introduces Pedro Pascal as Mr Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as the Human Tourch and Ebon Moss‑Bachrach as the Thing. The film managed to score a 55.5% occupancy on Friday for its English‑language shows, with evening and night shows drawing in the crowds. It has been reported that the movie saw between 59% and 73.60% footfalls for its Friday night shows, with metro centres like Bengaluru, Chennai, NCR, Mumbai and Ahmedabad bringing in the numbers. With this Rs 5 crore earning, the film now stands behind the first-day net earning of other Hollywood releases like 'Superman' which earned Rs 6.75 crore and even 'Jurassic World: Rebirth' which earned Rs 8.25 crore. While this is a low start for a Marvel film in India, the debut isn't unexpected, given Marvel's current market dip and strong competition from 'Saiyaara'. The film managed to get a hold over the box office despite facing stiff competition from the Bollywood romantic film 'Saiyaara'. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo The Mohit Suri directorial, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in lead roles, is dominating the box Indian office with its Rs 200 crore sweep. Sandeep Reddy Vanga Confirms Prabhas, Triptii Dimri's Spirit Begins Filming This September
Last Updated: Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga confirms Prabhas, Triptii Dimri's Spirit starts filming in September with back-to-back schedules. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has officially confirmed that his much-anticipated film Spirit, starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri, will begin shooting in September 2025. The announcement came during a recent chat with Vijay Deverakonda and filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri on the Sithara Entertainments YouTube channel. Sandeep revealed that Spirit will have back-to-back schedules and a non-stop shooting plan once it hits the floors. Spirit made headlines earlier this year when Deepika Padukone exited the project following disagreements over working hours and compensation. Reports suggested that Deepika was advocating for a strict eight-hour workday, a demand that could not be accommodated by the production team. Following her exit, Triptii Dimri was roped in to play the female lead opposite Prabhas. According to reports by Rangasthalam, Sandeep has already completed the musical compositions for Spirit in collaboration with composer Harshavardhan Rameshwar. Backed by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, Spirit is one of the most awaited action dramas in Indian cinema and is expected to hit theatres in 2027. The film reportedly presents Prabhas in a never-seen-before avatar, adding to fans' excitement. Earlier, a source close to the project revealed, 'Sandeep Reddy Vanga wants to shoot for Spirit in a certain way and has requested Prabhas to acquire a lean physique. The idea is to ensure most stunts are performed by Prabhas himself. The Rebel Star is excited about the challenge and is working closely with Sandeep to mold himself into the character." After wrapping up Spirit, Sandeep will begin scripting Animal Park, the much-anticipated sequel to his 2023 blockbuster Animal. With high expectations riding on Spirit, fans are eagerly awaiting to see what cinematic magic Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Prabhas will bring to the screen.
