Aamir Khan's upcoming movie Sitaare Zameen Par is gearing up for release soon. While the actor is on a promotional spree, he shared how sleepless nights and anxiety ahead of any film's release are good signs for him. In a recent interview with Galatta Plus, Aamir Khan mentioned that he cannot sleep before the release of any film and gets anxious as he is excited to show what he has made. Though the actor named one film of his entire career where he could sleep well, the reason will surprise you!
The Dangal actor mentioned that it was Thugs of Hindostan where he knew the movie would flop, as he himself didn't like it. While going down the memory lane, Aamir recalled his chat with ex-wife Kiran Rao and said, "Kiran asked me two weeks before the release of Thugs of Hindostan, she said, 'You're sleeping very calmly this time, what happened?' I said because I'm not happy with the film, and I also don't like it. I don't think it's going to do well."
Mr Perfectionist went on to add that he was clear in his head that the movie had not shaped well, so there was no anxiety. "Anxiety is when you're excited about showing what you've made and you think it's good and you're hoping people will like it—but you don't know how people are going to react," added the actor. Aamir Khan concluded his thoughts by mentioning that there will be no anxiety if there is no excitement.
For the unversed, Thugs of Hindostan was released in 2018, and it was Aamir Khan's first flop since 2005. Produced by Yash Raj Films, the period drama marked the first-ever screen collaboration of Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. The movie also had Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in pivotal roles.
Helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, Thugs Of Hindostan bombed at the box office with a mere collection of Rs 138.50 crore in its entire domestic theatrical run.

Housefull 5 Opening Weekend Box Office: Akshay Kumar starrer flirts with Rs 80 crore in 3 days
The Akshay Kumar-led comic caper, Housefull 5, has scored good results at the box office in its opening weekend in India. According to early estimates, the Sajid Nadiadwala-produced entertainer has collected Rs 29.25 crore on the third day, taking the first-weekend collection in the vicinity of Rs 79.75 crore. The film has done well in the urban and rural areas, though the real test begins from Monday, as the weekend biz is just half the work done. For those unaware, Housefull 5 opened at Rs 22.00 crore on Friday, followed by a spike in business to Rs 28.50 crore on Saturday (Bakri Eid) and Rs 29.25 crore on Sunday. The target for Housefull 5 will be to be as close as possible to the Rs 10 crore mark, and then put in another Rs 25 crore from Tuesday to Thursday, taking the first week total to Rs 114 crore. If the film scores in North of Rs 10 crore, it is well on track to enter the Rs 200 crore club, and for that matter, even the biggest Housefull film to date. A day in the range of Rs 8.00 crore to Rs 10.00 crore will keep in line for a Rs 175 crore finish in India. The first-weekend business is the second best for Akshay Kumar in the post-Covid world after Sooryavanshi, as also the second best of 2025 for the Hindi Film industry. The best-performing circuit for Housefull 5 on Sunday was Gujarat, and this is a positive sign, as a comedy film often overperforms in the long run based on the support from Gujarat. The weekend results are good, though 3-day results around the Rs 85 crore mark would have been an ideal result for the film and the makers, as far as the trend from Rs 22 crore is concerned. All eyes are now on the Monday test. Actor and producer Aamir Khan has spoken honestly about how the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha affected him deeply, saying he was 'depressed, heartbroken and emotionally battered' after the film didn't connect with most audiences. In a recent interview with Indian Express, Aamir addressed the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha. He said, 'It was quite shocking for me because I'd also liked the film. So I was very surprised that people didn't like it. Let me just add here, because I know a lot of people love the film, 25% of the audience has really loved the film. But I also have to admit that the larger bulk, 75% of them didn't connect with the film, they didn't like my work, they had their issues. I understand and respect that. Everyone liked the script, and then finally, we locked Farhan for it. We were also making a Tamil version because Prasanna is a Tamilian. So we locked Sivakarthikeyan for that one," said Aamir. Despite having second thoughts, Aamir chose to be upfront with Farhan and Sivakarthikeyan, who were both understanding. Aamir said, 'On the seventh day, I told Prasanna and Divya, but also said now it's too late. Of course, the moment I said that, all hell broke loose. They insisted I only do it. But I thought it doesn't reflect well on me as a producer after I've locked the actors' dates. But Prasanna convinced me and said I should do it since I was his first choice.' He then concluded, 'So, I told Farhan and Sivakarthikeyan honestly about the journey I'd been through. They were both very supportive. If I was in their shoes, I'd have been very disappointed. For many, the pairing may feel unusual — after all, it was Aamir himself who introduced Genelia to the Hindi film industry in 2008, casting her opposite his nephew Imran Khan in the beloved rom-com Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na.
