Katie Price to move into 'gorgeous' mansion after being forced to leave property

Daily Mirror3 days ago
Katie Price announced earlier this year that she was looking for somewhere else to live and it's now been confirmed that she's waiting to move into a new home at the moment
Reality TV star Katie Price has confirmed that she's in the process of moving house. It comes weeks after she shared that her landlord was considering selling the home in Sussex that she's been renting since she left the Mucky Mansion.
Katie, 47, had sparked concerns that she could end up homeless after saying that she had been struggling to find a guarantor to rent somewhere else to live. It's however now been announced that she has since found a new home.
She shared the news on the latest episode of her podcast and there's speculation about the property this week too. It comes after Katie Price worries fans with appearance in family photo after explaining weight loss.
She confirmed on the Katie Price Show, in an episode released today, that she's waiting to move into the new property. Katie teased that her partner JJ Slater, 33, had been helping her take measurements for her furniture.
Talking about her recent activities, Katie told her sister Sophie Price, 35, on the podcast: "Measured the stuff at the new house for all the new furniture." The former glamour model then described the property as "gorgeous".
She added: "We just went and measured up for [the new furniture]." Her sister Sophie, who co-hosts the podcast, went on to ask whether it's just a new sofa that she will be getting, to which Katie responded: "Everything new."
Elsewhere on the podcast, Katie teased that she is already looking forward to the winter months, which would be spent in her new home. She shared her excitement over getting to decorate for Christmas in the coming months.
According to the Sun, Katie is moving into a £4,500 a month mansion. It reports that she secured a guarantor with just days to spare and the outlet claims that she needed to provide £5,192 for the deposit for the long-term rental.
It further reports that the house is a three-bedroom barn conversation. The property, described as rural, is said to have features such as floor-to-ceiling windows, vaulted ceilings and a wood-burning stove located inside a brick fireplace.
The news that Katie has found a new home comes after she previously shared that she could end up looking for somewhere to live on her podcast last month. She said: "I think I've got to move house because I think the guy wants to sell my house now so I've got to go on the house hunt again."
In a later episode, which was also released last month, Katie spoke about struggling with her efforts to find somewhere to live. She recalled her current landlord having let her have the home she's leaving even without a guarantor.
She said: "I've been on time with all the payments, as you should, and bills and everything, but now he wants to sell it." Katie added: "Some houses I look at, like, I can't get a guarantor because some people don't earn money like me to be a guarantor."
Katie said that she had found a house owned by someone who wanted six months' rent up front in case she misses a payment but who also wanted a guarantor. She said that was despite having the "best" reference from her landlord.
The reality TV star, who has previously been declared bankrupt, said that she gets "judged" on stories about her. Sophie reassured her, saying: "Nowadays with renting, they are asking for more, aren't they? It's more competitive."
Katie, who was declared bankrupt in 2019 and then for a second time last year, said: "The truth is like, people don't realise, I got in all that bankruptcy stuff not because I didn't want to pay [but because] I had a breakdown. [...] But I'm not like that now."

Katie Price and Peter Andre's ugliest TV row that broke marriage as Princess' show debuts

Katie Price and Peter Andre's non-stop bickering was always dismissed as a bit of harmless 'banter' by the couple Katie Price and Peter Andre's non-stop bickering was always dismissed as harmless banter by the dupo. ‌ But their final TV spat - caught by cameras filming Katie and Peter: Stateside - was far more than just a petty lovers' quarrel. Explosive scenes airing on ITV2 in 2012 showed the couple embroiled in an ugly and bitter row that signalled the end of their three-year marriage. ‌ In shocking scenes, Peter is heard calling then wife Katie a 'talentless diva' and a 'miserable and arrogant cow' while Katie fires back by calling him being a washed-up singer, before raging: "I can't stand you." ‌ Both Katie and Peter said later that filming in Los Angeles signalled the end of their marriage. From battling to see who was more famous in the US to launching a tirade of insults at each other, the fight, shown on episode 4 of the series, was for many the moment fans also knew Katie and Peter were over. ‌ Transcript of the bitter row: Katie: When someone knows who you are and you come into a shop and you're blatantly lying, you look a t***. Peter: Really? Shhh Kate, zip it. [To assistant] So, have you heard of Kate? Assistant: I'm not sure. ‌ Peter: [To Katie] How do you feel now? How do YOU feel? Katie: You're a f****** knob, I can't stand you. Peter: Ahh, did I hurt your feelings? Did he not know who you were? ‌ Katie: Oh, as if I'm bothered. No one knows who you are, you're an old f****** singer no one knows about. Peter: You've got a real attitude problem. Katie: Get over it Pete. I want to go home. ‌ Peter: I'm so glad you guys are here to film this... Katie: I'm so glad too so you know what a k**b you are. Peter: You can see what kind of a stupid, miserable, arrogant cow she is. ‌ Katie: Arrogant, what 'cos I'm talking to someone genuinely and you're sitting there f****** lying? I can't stand liars. Peter: Really? You've got f****** issues. I can't wait for you to watch this back and see how miserable you are. Peter tells Katie she always wants her own way. ‌ Katie: I'm the one making money Pete, so course I can have it how I want. Peter: What, don't I make money? Katie: I don't know, do you? Hurts, doesn't it? ‌ Peter: You know what? You really, seriously, seriously are a psycho. I hope you are f****** proud of yourself. Peter ends the argument by calling Katie a 'stuck-up diva' moments after their manager Claire stepped in to break it up. ‌ It was a sad end to the couple who had captivated the nation when they met on I'm A Celebrity... Get Met Out of Here! in 2004. They tied the knot a year later and went on to welcome two children. The early years of their romance was captured almost continuously by documentary cameras - with their daughter Princess now following suit and landing her own reality show. The drama has started before the show has even aired with Katie's mum accusing Peter and Princess of blacklisting her from the show. The mum-of-five had insisted she was banned from her daughter's 18th birthday party and that her former management team – who look after ex-husband Peter and Princess – did not want her on the show as they considered her 'trash'. Speaking on her podcast, Katie claimed: 'Princess was like 'I'm having a party'. And I wasn't invited because it was for 'filming'.' She added: 'The fact is there's stuff my daughter is doing and I'm not allowed to be seen at any of it.'

Katie Price accused of 'last act of desperation' hours before Princess Andre's show

Katie Price has been accused of trying to steal the limelight back from daughter Princess Andre, as the teen launches her reality TV show tonight Katie Price has been accused of one last act of 'desperation' as she posted a raunchy glamour model shot just hours before her daughter Princess makes her reality TV debut. The star's oldest daughter follows in her mum's footsteps with her own documentary style ITV series The Princess Diaries, but crucially omitted Katie from appearing. ‌ After admitting bursting into tears when she found out she'd been 'blacklisted' from a show all about her teen daughter's life, Katie insisted she would not be watching and would not be promoting the show. ‌ However, hours before the show's release, fans accused Katie of making a last ditch attempt to steal focus as she posed in an ultra revealing cut-out body suit. It comes after Katie Price worries fans with appearance in family photo after explaining weight loss. ‌ In her latest snap, the 47-year-old was seen grabbing her hair back in the seductive shot which appeared to be a throwback to her 'Jordan' modelling heyday. The shot, which was signed off with nothing but a black love heart, sent an immediate frenzy in the comment section. ‌ "Why publish this the night before your daughters series due to start smacks of desperation," one fan complained. "Please just stop... it's your daughter's time to shine, embarrassing her again!" eyerolled another. However, other fans insisted Katie was still at the top of her game and wasn't trying to outdo anybody. "She's not suddenly trying to make herself famous," fumed one. ‌ Other fans accused Katie of posting an old photo for attention, as they accused her of digging through the archives to post something shocking ahead of Princess' big day. While others were thrilled with the display of Katie's modelling prowess. "There's only one Pricey," insisted one. "I think you look incredible. Late 40s and still got it," agreed another. ‌ While a third told her: "You look beautiful Katie... ignore the haters." It comes after the Mirror exclusively unveiled a series of fresh claims about Katie's 'feud' with Princess. Insiders accused Katie of swerving a meet-up with Princess on her 18th birthday so she could carry on partying abroad instead. ‌ The mum-of-five had insisted she was banned from her daughter's 18th birthday party and that her former management team – who look after ex-husband Peter Andre and Princess – did not want her on the show as they considered her 'trash'. Speaking on her podcast, Katie claimed: 'Princess was like 'I'm having a party'. And I wasn't invited because it was for 'filming'.' She added: 'The fact is there's stuff my daughter is doing and I'm not allowed to be seen at any of it.' ‌ But insiders claimed her version of events was far from the truth. They said the 18-year-old had arranged to see her mum on the morning of her birthday in June in London – but Katie failed to appear. ‌ A source said: 'It was all in the diary but then Katie claimed she couldn't make it as she was abroad. It was disappointing. 'For Katie to then say she was banned from the afternoon's filmed party when she was the no-show in the morning is just beyond belief.' The former Celebrity Big Brother winner was later pictured partying in Ibiza, and then Dubai. ‌ She also reportedly accidentally shared a happy birthday Instagram message to Princess – 36 hours before her daughter's big day. Insiders are perplexed by Katie's attempts to 'repeatedly insert herself into her daughter's career'. The model herself claimed: 'I have not been allowed to go on any photoshoots, signings or Superdrug openings or anything like that. I'm not welcome.' But the source said: 'Why is she making this all about her? What sort of person on the eve of her daughter's show, starts throwing all these grenades and believes she knows what's best, and should be given equal billing? It's Princess's life, her career.'

Where BBC Broom Cupboard's Simon Parkin is now - from weather man to film star

The BBC's Broom Cupboard, which celebrates its 40th birthday this year, was occupied by a number of famous TV presenters, one of them was Simon Parkin - here's what he's up to now A tiny room at the BBC became infamous when the corporation started to use the space as a studio where bubbly, young presenters would introduce children's programmes. Thanks to its diminutive size, it became affectionately known as the Broom Cupboard. ‌ Former This Morning host Philip Schofield presented the first ever slot on September 9 1985 and other famous faces such as Zoe Ball, Andy Crane and Andi Peters also sat behind the little control desk for CBBC. ‌ There were a couple of much-loved characters who popped up in the cupboard on occasion too - Gordon the Gopher and Edd the Duck, for example. It comes after Richard Osman reveals an axed Ant and Dec show was 'expensive car crash'. ‌ Another cheeky chappy who became a regular feature in the live slots was Simon Parkin. He began hosting from the Broom Cupboard in 1987 after starting out as a DJ on Radio Tees , the local commercial radio station for Teeside. He hadn't had his job there for long when he read an article in the Daily Star revealing Phil was leaving the afternoon cupboard slot to host new Saturday morning show, Going Live. He called up the boss at the time, was invited for an audition and got the job presenting the Christmas holiday morning links. He told how it felt to be on national telly so soon after starting out: "I really couldn't believe that I was there. I really didn't have any training," he recalled. "But it was a very relaxed, friendly place in which to be and learn. And you know, to look back, I had BBC1 to play with for three minute chunks at a time - it wouldn't happen now. There I was, and only five months previously I was on hospital radio." ‌ Simon revealed that it wasn't until Andi Peters, who he got on with immediately, started working there too that he honed his TV presenting skills. He said it was thanks to Andi's visual brain and expertise that he learnt the ropes. Describing his time in the cramped studio as "the best few years of my life", he remembers going out to lots of parties and having loads of fun despite not earning an awful lot. "We just genuinely had a really good time, on screen and off," he said. "Myself and Andi, and Stephanie Lowe and later Philippa Forrester, we all got on really well. We'd do a Sunday show and then all go out for lunch. I remember my flatmate used to moan at me for being on the phone at length to Andi. We'd just be chatting and coming up with ideas. It was just a really good, energised period of my life. I was very happy!" ‌ Simon stayed at the Beeb for the next five years working on shows such The Ozone, But First This, CBBC2 and Top of the Pops. He also kept up his DJ work at the BBC 's London station GLR and nationally on BBC Radio Five. In 1992 he was tempted over to rivals ITV to present for its new breakfast telly station, GMTV where he was to be the children's presenter. He went on to host programmes across the ITV network for Yorkshire Television, Granada and Westcountry. He ended up on Meridian in a slightly surprising slot - fronting the weather reports. ‌ Despite knowing nothing about meteorology, he was relieved when he was assured he didn't need to know about the science and was hired to cover maternity leave. He presented the nightly reports during the news until 2017. Simon has lived in Somerset with his wife Celina, their two children, Emily and Charlie and dog Pebble since 1998. He has returned to his first love of radio and now presents the weekday news and magazine show Simon Parkin in the Morning on BBC Somerset. Perhaps thanks to his time on front of the camera, he has also turned his hand to acting a few times. In 2018 he featured in horror films Grindsploitation 666 and Maneater, where, staying true to his roots, he was the radio announcer in both. In 2020 he played the lead role of Lester - a radio presenter - in Dead Air. The film's IMDb description reads: "Lester is a boring man living a boring life. He presents the overnight show on local station, Cosmic FM to an average listenership of 1. Stuck in a seemingly endless cycle of monotony, one night Lester's world is changed forever when he begins to receive call after call from panicked first-time listeners."
