Oasis' first concert – all you need to know including setlist

Daily Mirror19 hours ago
Oasis announced last year that they would be giving things another go and reuniting as a band, much to the delight of many superfans
Oasis are officially back together and will be performing their first show of the highly anticipated reunion tonight. Noel and Liam Gallagher put their differences aside for the sake of their fans as they are due to perform in Cardiff tonight.
The reunion tour was announced last year which was met with thousands of fans trying to get their hands on a ticket. But the wait it now over as those who were lucky enough to get a ticket will see the brothers get back together for the first time since the band split in 2009.

However, many have been left wondering as to what they can really expect during the tour. Here's everything you need to know about Oasis getting back together.

Click here for the Mirror's live updates on the Oasis tour.
Start time
The concert will first begin with two support acts before Oasis take to the stage. Cast will play first at 6pm followed by Richard Ashcroft at 7pm.
Oasis will then start their set at 8.15pm. Those who have got tickets for the first night in Cardiff will need to be careful with what they bring into the stadium as they could cause a delay.
A list of banned items from the Principality Stadium Cardiff has been issued on the website which includes:
Fireworks
Flares
Pyrotechnics
All Horns Including Air Horns
Musical Instruments
Smoke Canisters
Laser Pointers
Bottles
Glasses
Cans
Cooking Devices
Banners, Poles
Large Golf-Type Umbrellas

Tickets
Unfortunately if you haven't got your hands on a ticket for tonight's show, it's too late. The tour sold out within 10 hours when the tickets went on sale last summer.

However, you may be able to purchase a ticket on resale on Twickets and Ticketmaster. The band shared a video to promote the comeback last year when Liam was heard saying: "When we both come together, you have greatness."
Noel then says: "I know my brother better than anybody else. This is it, this is happening."
Setlist
Due to Cardiff being the first show, fans are yet to find out what the official setlist is. However, it is pretty certain that some of Oasis' biggest hits will be on the list.

You can expect to hear the likes Don't Look Back in Anger, Live Forever, Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova. Despite nothing being confirmed, a rumoured setlist has been leaked online.
According to one fan, they have claimed they heard the full rehearsal setlist after staying for the duration of the playback. They said the tracks to be belted out by 74,500 in attendance will be as follows:

'I was at Oasis in Cardiff- Noel's mask slipped over the feud in special moment'

Oasis are back after kicking off their Live 25 tour in Cardiff - all eyes were on the Gallagher brothers to see if their 16 year feud really is over The moment Liam Gallagher seized brother Noel's hand and held it in the air as the brothers walked on stage in Cardiff was a sight Oasis fans have been waiting years to see and won't easily forget. Reuniting alongside best mate Bonehead, the brothers played a blistering set to an adoring crowd - as 90s nostalgia packed every inch of the Principality Stadium. ‌ After the initial burst of brotherly love put a very public end to their 16 year feud - it was suddenly back to business for Liam and Noel. The pair barely glanced at each other on stage as they ripped through the hits of their back catalogue from Hello to Supersonic. ‌ For second song Acquiesce, Noel and Liam sang together but it was the only time they interacted at all during the two hour set. Fans hoping for banter between the tempestuous Manc brothers might have been disappointed. Noel in particular maintained his signature stoic look on stage, focused on his guitar and the crowd in front. That was until one moment in the second half gave away how he was really feeling to be back with Liam. He infamously broke up the band in 2009 after one bust-up too many saying he 'simply could not go on a day longer' working with his younger brother. While Liam had made no secret of the fact he was willing to put it all in the past, Noel continuously shot down any suggestion they could be on the same stage again. But on Friday night they were back - but was it for the eye-watering pay packets or the perfect celebration of finally putting the fallout behind them? ‌ Somethings had not changed. While Noel maintained a concentrated focus as he ripped through chords, Liam kept up his reputation as the natural comedian of the group. "I see you're all still on the glue down there," he told the standing fans. Later when asking the crowd to turn and around and hold each other for Rock 'n' Roll star, he quipped: "C'mon now you don't need GCSE's for this one." ‌ When frontman Liam left the stage, it was Noel's time to shine as he slowed things down with mass singalongs to to Talk Tonight and Don't Look Back in Anger - the latter causing swathes of the crowd to grab hold of their mates and some to even shed a tear or two. But it was during Half the World Away that Noel finally cracked himself. ‌ Watching the euphoric reaction as the lyrics to his 1998 track were roared back at him, Noel finally broke and stopped singing as he stepped back from the microphone and took in the emotion of the occasion. As a close-up of face was beamed across the big stage, fans were stunned to see the famously grumpy brains behind Oasis even appear to have tears in eyes for a brief moment. It was the one giveaway that confirmed Noel was truly glad to be back. While Liam has been tweeting daily since the news of the comeback was confirmed last August, little has been heard from Noel. But last night fans got a chance to see for themselves just how much it really means.

After 16 years, Oasis is finally back! Noel and Liam Gallagher took to the stage at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on Friday (July 4) in what was their first gig together in 16 years. He spoke to the audience several times throughout the set, but before Oasis played their final song of the night, fan-favourite Champagne Supernova, Liam said: 'Right you beautiful people, this is it. 'Nice one for putting up with us over the years, we know we've been difficult. 'Champagne Supernova, nice one.' Oasis Live Cardiff Tour Review - the emotional signs the war is finally over

It was hailed as the greatest rock'n'roll reunion of the decade. But as the Gallaghers might say, it was much bigger than that. Cardiff town centre was ground to standstill aside from packed bars hours before the show, and thousands came without tickets, such is the power and love for the band. Before they had spoken or played a note, Liam and Noel linked hands and held them aloft to show their war was over and Oasis really were back. Then they let their music do the talking initially with Hello and then Acquiesce, which saw the brothers sharing vocal duties. The lyrics couldn't be more timely for the comeback: 'Because we need each other, we believe in one another' That was a close as we would get to a real embrace They found their stride with Morning Glory and Some Might Say. And Liam even found time to ask the crowd to do a Man City Poznan mosh celebration up and down to Cigarettes and Alcohol. He later joked about the cost of the tickets and thanks fans for sticking with them too. Noel got plenty of time to shine too, with his own mini gig in the middle slowing things down a little with singalongs to Talk Tonight and Half The World Away which seem to even make Noel teary. The rest of the band also sounded solid with the month long stint of rehearsals paying off. Bonehead got his own shoutout which he deserves for being the glue between the Gallaghers on and off stage at times. The back catalogue of huge hits keep coming, and keep taking different members of the audience down memory lane. Nights out with friends, birthdays and wedding receptions. They chose songs from early in their era and the audience mainly in their forties and fifties were transported back to the Nineties. Liam had promised beforehand to blow the roof off the venue and judging from the reaction of thousands of fans jumping around and shouting every song back at him unison, he wasn't far wrong. Of course there is no new music here and the set list mainly consisted of songs from two albums that were released in 1994 and 1995. So there is a heavy dose of nostalgia and many people in the crowd are not just loving the Gallagher and the music, but the place it takes them too. For many, the nights out filled with Cigarettes and Alcohol are in short supply these days, now they are married with children. When the reunion was announced, amongst the short statement and a black and white photo the Gallaghers had said: "The stars have aligned. The great wait is over." In Cardiff the wait was finally over, and it has taken 16 years, but this is a reunion gig that will live forever in the memories of the fans who were here. To quote Liam, it was biblical. Full set list from the opening show in Cardiff on Friday night was: Hello Acquiesce Morning Glory Some Might Say Bring It on Down Cigarettes & Alcohol Fade Away Supersonic Roll With It Talk Tonight (sung by Noel) Half the World Away (sung by Noel) Little By Little (sung by Noel) D'You Know What I Mean? Stand By Me Cast No Shadow Slide Away Whatever Live Forever Rock 'n' Roll Star The Masterplan (sung by Noel) Don't Look Back in Anger (sung by Noel) Wonderwall Champagne Supernova
