AZ Martinez joins relief ops in Rizal for families affected by typhoons

AZ Martinez took time to lend a helping hand to those affected by the recent typhoons.
On Instagram Monday, Sparkle GMA Artist Center uploaded photos of AZ taken at a relief donation drive in Montalban, Rizal.
'Beauty with a purpose,' Sparkle GMA Artist Center wrote in the caption.
In the photos, AZ could be seen handing out relief bags to some residents.
AZ was part of the Big Four of 'Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.'
She and her duo River Joseph (AZVer) were named the fourth big placers.
Following the onslaught of Tropical Cyclones Crising, Dante, Emong, and the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, a state of calamity was declared in 192 cities and municipalities, including the entire provinces of Cavite, Bataan, Pampanga, Rizal, Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, and Negros Occidental.
On Monday morning, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that the death toll has increased to 31, with most of the fatalities coming from Metro Manila.
According to PAGASA on Monday, the Southwest Monsoon is expected to continue bringing rains over the Philippines. The Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan will have occasional rains.

REUTERS/Eloisa Lopez The number of individuals affected by the combined effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and tropical cyclones Crising, Dante, and Emong reached 9,530,350, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Saturday. This is equivalent to 2,599,712 families, the NDRRMC said in its situational report. Of this number, 7,524 families or 28,703 persons were served inside 273 evacuation centers, while 12,004 families or 40,729 persons were served outside evacuation centers. The reported death toll due to weather disturbances' combined effects was at 37, with five already validated and 32 still for validation. Injuries numbered 32, with 24 validated and eight still to be validated. Meanwhile, of the eight reported missing, four have already been validated, while four others are still for validation. The NDRRMC also said 815 road sections and 43 bridges were affected. There were 88,492 houses damaged in Region 1, Region 2, CAR, Region 3, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Region 5, Region 6, NIR, Region 7, Region 9, Region 10, Region 11, Region 12, CARAGA, BARMM. Damage to agriculture was estimated to cost P3,159,733,667.11 representing production loss. A total of 98,307 farmers and fisherfolk were affected. Infrastructure damage was pegged at P16,506,257,464.1, with affected regions as follows: Region 1, Region 2, CAR, Region 3, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Region 5, Region 6, NIR, Region 10, Region 12. Meanwhile, 1,756,525 families required assistance at a cost of P1,289,345,766.17. The government has so far assisted 1,398,874 families, the NDRRMC said. —KG, GMA Integrated News

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will continue to affect the country, PAGASA said in its weather forecast early Saturday morning. MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, the Bicol Region, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Winds will be light to moderate along with slight to moderate seas.
