Hyderabad: Chief minister A
Revanth Reddy
on Thursday said he, along with ministers and party MPs, is ready to stage a dharna at Jantar Mantar in Delhi to press the Centre for approving 42% reservations for BCs in Telangana across panchayat raj local bodies, govt jobs, and educational institutions.
He urged Rahul Gandhi and various parties' MPs to raise the issue in Parliament, asserting that the Telangana govt had submitted the proposal for enhanced BC quotas to the Centre and the President of India four months ago.
Revanth also hinted at further enhancing reservation for SCs and STs based on the findings of the state's socio-economic caste census. The proposal includes raising SC quota from 15% to 17.5% and ST quota from 10% to 10.8% (11%).
He said the upcoming national caste census would also bring clarity on the actual population share of these communities.

Speaking at a presentation on the Telangana caste survey held at Telangana Bhavan in Delhi, he said: "The Telangana survey is not just a caste count. It is a socio-economic, educational, and political survey. We collected 88 crore pages of self-declared data. It's 100% foolproof."
Revanth said the letter of appreciation from Sonia Gandhi felt like a 'Nobel or Oscar award,' calling it the highest honour of his political career.

Revanth took sharp aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming "Modi is a legally converted OBC, as his caste was included in the category only after he became Gujarat CM."
He alleged that if Modi continues to stall the BC reservation bill, people will remove him from power and ensure the bill's passage. "During our previous dharna at Jantar Mantar, I told Modi — either pass it now or the people will pass it after removing you from power.
That message must now be sent again through Parliament," he told party leaders.
The CM slammed both the BJP and RSS for opposing caste census initiatives. He recalled that in 2020, the BJP-led central govt had told the Supreme Court it had no intention of conducting such a census, and Union minister Rajnath Singh had echoed the same position in Parliament.
Revanth said the BJP only agreed to include caste census in the national census earlier this year due to pressure from Congress, particularly Rahul Gandhi, who made it a core demand during his Bharat Jodo Yatra.
He accused BRS leaders KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao of attempting to discredit the survey's data, but said he had challenged them on the floor of the assembly to prove it wrong.
Calling the survey a 'rare model,' Revanth said it would serve as a roadmap for the nation. "If anyone has a problem calling it the Telangana model, let's call it the rare model — and I'll explain why," he said.
Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka gave a presentation on the survey's methodology, while irrigation minister Uttam Kumar Reddy and TPCC chief B Mahesh Kumar Goud spoke on its political significance.

Operation Sindoor Debate In Lok Sabha: PM Modi Slays Opposition

PM Modi's Reply On Operation Sindoor: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched his counterattack against Opposition parties on Tuesday, following criticism from leaders such as Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Akhilesh Yadav over intelligence failures and ceasefire claims. Addressing the Lok Sabha while replying to the opposition's charges on Operation Sindoor, PM Modi said that he stands in the house not only to present India's side but also to show a mirror to those who don't see the country's point of view. Prime Minister Modi also accused the opposition of playing at the hands of Pakistan by blowing up their narrative and claims. Prime Minister Modi also questioned Congress alleging that the grand old party has given a clean chit to Pakistan. PM Modi said that the Congress leaders are asking for proof that the terrorists were from Pakistan. Here are 10 key highlights from Prime Minister Modi's Lok Sabha speech: 1. I was abroad on 22nd April. I returned immediately. And immediately after coming back, I called a meeting and we gave clear instructions that a befitting reply has to be given to terrorism and this is our national resolve. The army was given a free hand to act. And it was also said that the army should decide when, where, how and in what manner. All these things were clearly said in that meeting. 2. Immediately following the Pahalgam attack, the Pakistani military anticipated that India would retaliate significantly. They even issued threats to use nuclear weapons. On May 6th and 7th, India executed its planned response, leaving Pakistan powerless to act. In just 22 minutes, our forces avenged the attack of April 22nd with clear objectives in mind. India took action as decided on the night of May 6, and Pakistan could do nothing about it. In 22 minutes, our army took revenge for April 22 with the designated target. 3. Armed Forces were given a free hand. They were told to decide the when, where and are proud that terrorists were punished, and it was such a punishment that the terrorist masterminds have sleepless nights even to this day. Terrorist bases were destroyed in Pakistan. No one can imagine that anyone can reach there. Bahawalpur, Muridke, has also been razed to the ground. Our forces destroyed the terrorist bases. 4. India successfully dispelled Pakistan's nuclear threat, demonstrating that nuclear blackmail is no longer an effective strategy. Pakistan's airbases and assets have suffered heavy damage. And to date, many of their airbases are in ICU. 5. India has shown its technical capability. It has struck Pakistan precisely on the chest. Pakistan's airbases and assets have suffered heavy damage. And to date, many of their airbases are in ICU. This is the era of technology-based war. If we had not made the preparations that we have done in the last 10 years, then we could imagine how much loss we could have suffered in this era of technology. 6. Through Operation Sindoor, for the first time, the world recognised the power of self-reliant India. Made in India drones, missiles exposed Pakistan's weapon system. 7. Through this operation, India has firmly conveyed three key messages: First, any assault on Indian soil by militants will be met with a decisive and fitting response on India's own terms. Second, nuclear threats will not deter India from taking necessary action. Third, there will be no distinction between a government that harbours terrorists and the masterminds behind such acts of terror. Here, many things were said (by opposition) regarding foreign policy as well. Many things were also said about global support. No country in the world has stopped India from taking action for its security. Out of 193 countries, only 3 countries made statements in support of Pakistan. Be it QUAD or BRICS... India received support from all over the world. 9. We said this on the first day in the press conference that our action is non-escalatory. We did Operation Sindoor by saying this. And that is why we stopped strike after targets were achieved. No leader of the world asked India to stop Operation Sindoor. During this time, on the night of May 9, the Vice President of the United States tried to talk to me. He kept trying for around an hour but I was busy in a meeting with our armed forces. So, I could not take his call. Later I called him back. The American Vice President informed me that Pakistan was planning a massive strike against India. My response was - if this is Pakistan's desire, then it will cost them dearly. If Pakistan will attack, we will carry out a bigger strike. 10. Operation Sindoor is going on. Pakistan ne 'dussahas ki kalpana ki toh, usse karara javab diya jayega' (if Pakistan dares any misadventure, they will get a befitting reply).

'From Sindoor to Sindhu, we have taken action against Pakistan on all fronts: PM Modi addresses Operation Sindoor in Parliament

'From Sindoor to Sindhu, we have taken action against Pakistan on all fronts: PM Modi on Operation Sindoor in Parliament | Key Highlights PM Modi on Operation Sindoor: Once again asserting that the Indian armed forces taught a good lesson to those behind the Pahalgam attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that 'masters of terrorism' are still losing their sleep over it. At the same time he launched a blistering attack on the Opposition for raising question on Operation Sindoor . Responding to the two-day debate on Pahalgam and Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, the prime minister said the attack was aimed at instigating riots in India, and the country's unity has foiled the attempt. He also noted that Pakistan had some inkling of Indian action and had started issuing nuclear threats, but could do nothing when terror targets were hit. Key Highlights 'I stand here to make a case for India, and to show a mirror to those who do not understand this. I had said that we will teach the terrorists and their masters a befitting lesson which will be beyond their imagination. 'The armed forces taught them such a lesson that the masters of terrorism are still losing their sleep over it,' he said. 'It ( Pahalgam attack) was a conspiracy to instigate riots in India and the country's unity foiled that attempt. When I speak of this Parliament session being a Vijayotsav , it is of destroying the headquarters of terror,' he said. When Pakistan came out in support of terrorists, India's missiles, drones caused unimaginable loss; forced Pakistan to its knees Indian forces showed Pakistan that they had destroyed terror sites within minutes; we made our capabilities clear to them. On May 7, Indian armed forces stated publicly that they have struck terror sites inside Pakistan For Operation Sindoor , India had decided to attack the epicentre of terror that had supported Pahalgam terrorists Opposition can get headlines in media with their attacks on me, but this cannot earn them place in hearts of people of country Congress leaders targeted me for political gains, but their frivolous statements ended up discouraging our brave soldiers India got support of the entire world, but it is unfortunate that Congress did not support the valour of our soldiers.

No country told India to halt military operation after Pahalgam terror attack: PM Modi in Lok Sabha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday told the Lok Sabha that after the April 22 Pahalgam attack, no country told India to halt its military operation against terror bases in Pakistan. He made the remarks after Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi asked in Parliament why countries only denounced terrorism, and not Pakistan, after the attack. In response, Modi said that out of 193 countries, only three made statements in support of Pakistan after India's military operation on May 7. 'Be it the Quad or BRICS, India got support from all over the world.' The Quad, or Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, is a grouping comprising India, the United States, Australia and Japan. The BRICS grouping comprises India, Brazil, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates. Modi on Tuesday told the Lok Sabha that India's military operation in May showed that 'nuclear blackmailing' by Pakistan was no longer an effective strategy. 'By showcasing its technical expertise, India conducted precise strikes deep within enemy territory,' the prime minister said. 'These operations inflicted significant damage on Pakistan's airbases and military assets, rendering many of their airbases non-operational to this day.' Modi added that the operation showed that any assault on Indian soil by militants would lead to 'a decisive and fitting response on India's own terms'. It also demonstrated that 'there will be no distinction between a government that harbours terrorists and the masterminds behind such acts of terror,' he asserted.
