Resident Evil 9 Leaker Asks Fans to Brace for Major Changes
It has been nearly four years since Resident Evil Village launched for PS5 and PS4. While Capcom has released games within the franchise, including Resident Evil Re:Verse and the Resident Evil 4 remake, the next mainline entry has yet to be revealed.
However, it seems we may finally get the first look at sometime this year according to a known leaker.
According to Dusk Golem, most known for their horror video game leaks, Resident Evil 9 will 'almost definitely' be revealed sometime this year. They also claim that the reason why it has yet to be revealed is due to the scope of the game. It is, supposedly, a 'big reinvention of the series,' similar to how entries like Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 7 revolutionized the franchise.
'The thing I think people will realize when RE9 is revealed is the reason this game is taking so long is because it's like a big reinvention of the series, to the same level as RE4 & RE7,' claims the leaker. 'It's not going to play just like RE7/RE8 or the Remakes, it's trying new things & very ambitious. It will almost definitely be revealed this year, so just hold tight.'
Details on Resident Evil 9 are very sparse, and are mostly just rumors. One rumor suggests the next mainline entry in the beloved horror franchise will be open-world.
One concrete detail we do know is Resident Evil 7's Koshi Nakanishi is heading development for Resident Evil 9, which was revealed during Capcom Next last year.
'We're making a new Resident Evil,' Nakanishi said during the Capcom Next showcase. 'It was really difficult to figure out what to do after (Resident Evil 7). But I found it, and to be honest, it feels substantial. I can't share any details just yet, but I hope you're excited for the day I can.'

Sony May Have Quietly Discontinued a PS5 Accessory
Sony may have quietly discontinued a PS5 accessory, replacing it with a more expensive, higher-end model. Players began noticing the disappearance of as far back as six months ago, and now, it's not available to purchase on PS Direct either. Sony didn't officially announce the discontinuation of the Pulse 3D model, but we've seen reports from various regions that it's no longer available in stores. Pulse 3D has presumably been replaced by the Pulse Elite, which costs more. Some players have been left frustrated by the change. We've seen a number of threads pop up on gaming forums, with players complaining about issues with the pricey Elite and being unable to find a new Pulse 3D headset. 'I had Elites and Audeze Maxwell, and honestly, I returned to Pulse 3D due to great sound, comfort, and very light weight,' a user wrote on Reddit. 'I wanted to get a second pair and it's kinda unavailable in EU.' 'Why is no one talking about their Pulse headset just disappearing quietly?' another player asked. 'I think this is a big deal especially since their other headset [Elite], is still not functioning properly,' they added, referring to complaints of Elite disconnecting frequently. At the time of this writing, we can confirm that Pulse 3D isn't available to purchase via PS Direct. Hasbro's New Marvel Legends Figures Are the Bendiest Boys Around
Whether it's Mr. Fantastic or Shuma-Gorath (sorry, 'Gargantos'), Hasbro's newest Marvel reveals are all about that flexibility. Today Hasbro revealed a boatload of Marvel Legends figures, and they were united beyond the mere fact that they were action figures made by Hasbro, and were from Marvel properties. No, there was a standout theme among today's reveals: bendiness. It would be otherwise difficult to marry the two halves of Hasbro's reveals today—our first official look at action figures from The Fantastic Four: First Steps alongside a series of gaming-themed celebrations of Capcom's classic Marvel fighting games—but somehow the toymaker did it with a little help from Mr. Fantastic and… Shuma-Gorath. Hasbro Marvel Legends Gamerverse Gargantos Sorry, Gargantos. The legally distinct Shuma-Gorath, who looks a lot like Shuma-Gorath, and instead currently borrows its name from an incredibly obscure Namor the Sub-Mariner villainous octopus to avoid potential copyright issues. Either way, they've both got big long bendy limbs! Hasbro Marvel Legends Fantastic Four: First Steps Mr. Fantastic Thankfully, Reed also comes with a pair of normal arms that you can swap out if you don't want his wired, bendable stretchy limbs going all the time. But Gigantos is all bend, all the time, with multiple points of articulation across his six tendrils that make what is otherwise a giant green one-eyed tentacled eldritch abomination surprisingly expressive. Hasbro Marvel Legends Fantastic Four: First Steps Figures Of course though, non-bendy action figures were also on display. Rounding out the rest of the First Steps wave are, of course, the rest of the Fantastic Four, based on their MCU appearances: Sue, Johnny, and Ben all get figures, as does a fully flamed-on Human Torch. While there's no movie Galactus figure for them to battle against yet, the line is rounded out by his herald in the form of Shalla Bal, the Silver Surfer, who comes with not only her cosmic surfboard but a nifty little energy blast stand you can pose her surfing on. Hasbro Marvel Legends Gamerverse Figures The Gamerverse fighting game figures, beyond Gargantos, are all inspired by the early stages of Marvel's historic gaming collaboration with Capcom across a series of arcade fighting games, most notably Marvel Super Heroes, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, and the original Marvel vs. Capcom. Gargantos and a deluxe-sized Juggernaut, however, are the only standalone figures: the rest are available across a series of two packs, some of which will be exclusive in the U.S. to retailers like Walmart, Target. Here's the breakdown of who's facing off against who: Wolverine vs. Silver Samurai Psylocke vs. Thanos (Target exclusive) Captain America vs. Venom War Machine vs. Omega Red (Walmart exclusive) Hasbro's Fantastic Four: First Steps figures will hit Hasbro Pulse for pre-order tomorrow, May 30, ahead of a release this summer. The 'Gamerverse' two-packs will have staggered pre-order launches across Hasbro Pulse, Target, and Walmart across the month of June.
