Delhi shows interest in adopting UP's integrated grievance redressal system
Lucknow: The govt of Delhi is taking a keen interest in Uttar Pradesh's Integrated Grievance Redressal System, and if sources are to be believed, the neighbouring state may replicate the model.
A team from the state govt made a presentation before Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the beginning of the week to explain its advantages and achievements. On Friday, a team from the Delhi govt visited the UP National Informatics Centre to get hands-on experience of the system.
Earlier, the Delhi govt had also looked at Andhra Pradesh govt's grievance redressal model besides engaging with a private technology company.
"We had the opportunity to present key features of Uttar Pradesh's Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) and CM helpline before the Delhi CM and chief secretary. They were impressed by the state's robust, technology-enabled platform that significantly improved the speed, transparency, and accountability of grievance resolution across departments," sources said.
Some of the key features that make UP IGRS and CM helpline unique are the end-to-end digital lifecycle of grievances, real-time escalation matrix for pending complaints, department-wise and district-wise dashboards, SMS/IVRS-based citizen updates and feedback loop, and analytics-driven monitoring for proactive governance, among others.

Atishi writes to Delhi CM over private schools fee hike, demands Fee Regulation Bill in Assembly
New Delhi [India], June 5 (ANI): Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, Atishi, on Thursday wrote a letter to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta over the 'uncontrollable' fees of private schools and demanded that the Fee Regulation Bill should be presented in the Assembly during a special session. In her letter to the Delhi CM, Atishi said that the Bill should also be referred to the Select Committee, which will seek the opinion of the parents. 'The Government should immediately call a Special Session of the Assembly and table the Fee Regulation bill. The Bill should then be referred to a Select Committee, with members from both the BJP and AAP. The Select Committee should do a large-scale public consultation involving all stakeholders. Only after this, the final draft of the Bill, after incorporating all changes, should be passed by the Assembly,' Atishi said. 'If the Bill is brought as an Ordinance-without any debate or public consultation- it will just confirm the suspicion of the people of Delhi that the BJP Government is protecting the interests of private schools, not the parents,' the LoP further said. In a post on X, Atishi alleged that earlier, a bill was brought to the cabinet, but was kept hidden. 'Ever since the BJP government came into power, the fees of private schools have increased uncontrollably, and the government has not taken any action. A bill was brought in the cabinet, but it was kept hidden and no opinion was taken. Now, the Education Minister @ashishsood_bjp says that the bill will be brought through an ordinance. Why this law through the back door? Does the government want to protect private schools?' Atishi said. Earlier in May, the Delhi Cabinet approved the Delhi School Education Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees Bill, 2025, bringing relief to thousands of students and parents across the capital. Addressing growing concerns over frequent and unregulated fee increases by private schools, the Delhi Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta cleared the bill, which is expected to apply to 1,677 private schools in the city. New Delhi [India], June 5 (ANI): BJP National President and Union Health Minister JP Nadda planted a sapling at Nirman Bhawan in New Delhi under 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative on World Environment Day on Thursday. 'Today, on World Environment Day, I planted a sapling at @MoHFW_INDIA, Nirman Bhawan in New Delhi, as a gesture of gratitude towards Mother Nature under the #EkPedMaaKeNaam initiative launched by Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji,' Nadda said in a post on X. 'I encourage everyone to join this movement and take meaningful steps towards a greener future. With the call of 'One Nation One Mission: End Plastic Pollution,' let us all pledge to reduce plastic waste and protect our environment for generations to come,' he added. Meanwhile, on World Environment Day, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that 280 electric buses will be added to the city's fleet by 2027 as part of a new electric vehicle (EV) policy. Speaking to ANI, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the Delhi government plans to add 280 electric buses by 2027. 'We have decided to give 280 electric buses to Delhi. By 2027, the whole fleet of buses provided by the Delhi government will be electric. We are also bringing in a new EV policy,' she said. CM Gupta praised the new buses, calling them a tremendous asset for Delhi and highlighting their high comfort level and security features. She said, 'These buses are a tremendous asset for Delhi. This is a highly comfortable bus. Cameras and a panic button have been installed inside the bus. The buses have a low floor and are air-conditioned.' CM Gupta criticised previous governments, saying, 'The previous governments never paid much attention to the environment. Delhi was deprived of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign under the last government. Our target is to plant 70 lakh trees this year.' Meanwhile, Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav praised the central government's efforts to curb vehicular pollution through smart EV and hydrogen buses. He said, 'The Central government is regularly working on the problem of vehicular pollution... This new campaign for smart EV and hydrogen buses is a huge step in this direction.' He noted, 'Under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, around 109 crore people planted nearly 140 crore trees yesterday.' Yadav also highlighted PM Modi's symbolic tree plantings in recent years and called the gift of electric buses a step toward purifying Delhi's air. Regarding the tree-planting campaign, Yadav noted, 'Under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, around 109 crore people planted nearly 140 crore trees yesterday. This year, PM Modi planted a Banyan sapling. Last year, he planted a Peepal sapling. His gift of electric buses to Delhi will surely work to purify the air in Delhi.' Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 200 electric buses under the Delhi government's sustainable transport initiative. No animal sacrifice in the open: U.P. CM ahead of Bakrid
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday directed senior officials to ensure that no animal sacrifice takes place in the open during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid) festival that will be celebrated on Saturday (June 7). He also instructed authorities to ensure that blood is not drained into open sewers and emphasised adopting a zero-tolerance policy against any troublemakers to maintain peace and public order. The CM, who turned 53 on Thursday, issued these directives during a law and order review meeting that he chaired at Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur. At the temple, he also offered prayers and paid floral tribute to Mahant Avaidyanath's statue. Besides, Yogi reviewed preparations for the International Yoga Day celebrations scheduled for June 21. He instructed officials to make arrangements for the live telecast of PM Narendra Modi's address and to install large display screens at all major city intersections. He enquired about the pending construction work at Ayush University and directed the divisional commissioner to ensure its completion within a week. The university is scheduled to be inaugurated by the President of India on June 30. Later in the evening, several public representatives and BJP workers gathered on the temple premises to greet the CM on his birthday.
