Barbie Forteza, Kyline Alcantara, co-stars give glimpse into ‘Beauty Empire' characters
Barbie Forteza, Kyline Alcantara, and their co-stars gave their fans a sneak peek into their characters in 'Beauty Empire' as well as the dramatic narratives behind them and their world.
According to Aubrey Carampel's report in '24 Oras' Friday, the upcoming series will follow Barbie and Kyline's characters, Noreen and Shari, who are competitors in the beauty industry.
'Ang istorya ho namin ay punong-puno ng puso at pagmamahal sa pamilya with fashion. And beauty at its core, we will tackle murder mystery, love for family, revenge,' Barbie said.
'I approach it with a combination of my personal life and the character's experiences. 'Yung heartbreak or 'yung mga experience sa buhay eh makakadagdag din naman sa pag-atake sa isang character,' Kyline said.
Joining the cast are Ruffa Gutierrez as Velma, Shari's mentor, and Sam Concepcion as Migoy, Noreen's childhood friend.
'Velma is, you know, she's a very ambitious and powerful woman, and yet, behind that, she's very soft. Nagmahal, nagkaroon siya ng heartbreak. And I think me, as Ruffa, marami na rin akong heartbreak na pinagdaanan sa buhay ko,' Ruffa said.
'It's been a really great experience being here, working with the team, and working with such generous and really talented actors,' Sam said.
The series will also star Chai Fonacier as Kriselda, Velma's trusted assistant, and Aaron Maniego as Silvester, Shari's assistant.
'She's somebody that I wish I had her focus and her grit. Makalat ito eh,' Chai said.
'I'm just so grateful for my co-actors na sobrang gina-guide nila ako every step of the way and napakabait nila sa akin,' Aaron said.
"Beauty Empire" is produced by GMA Public Affairs, based on the original concept by CreaZion Studios. It dives deep into the intense rivalries and high-stakes drama among powerful women as they navigate the beauty industry driven by ambition, revenge, and power.
The cast also includes Gloria Diaz, Sid Lucero, and South Korean actor Choi Bo Min.
"Beauty Empire" is set to premiere soon on Viu before debuting on GMA Network.

Jennylyn Mercado, Dennis Trillo share challenges they faced in ‘Sanggang Dikit FR'
Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo are open that taking on their new series, 'Sanggang Dikit FR,' has not been without its hurdles. According to Nelson Canlas' report in '24 Oras" Friday, the project marks the Kapuso couple's first time working on an action series together. 'Medyo challenging siya talaga dahil hindi na rin ako masyadong bata so iba na rin 'yung kinakailangan na energy para dito. Talagang medyo matindi 'yung mga physical scenes namin. Maraming takbuhan, ang daming fight scenes, so medyo kinakailangan ng maraming—medyo kailangan fit ka eh, malakas ka,' Jennylyn said. 'Challenge kapagka ano, halimbawa nag-away kayo. Nag-aaway in real life tapos kailangan maging maayos,' Dennis said. 'Doon mo susubukan 'yung pagka-professional. So dapat talagang iwan niyo 'yung problema at pagka nagtatrabaho, trabaho talaga.' They will soon fly to Europe and the United Arab Emirates to shoot some scenes and they will bring their three kids with them. 'OK lang kung mga three days lang, two days. Pero pag two weeks, naku po. Ang hirap,' Jennylyn said. 'Sanggang Dikit FR' is a buddy-cop series that channels the style of '80s action films. In February, Jennylyn and Dennis went target shooting in preparation for the project. Jennylyn started shooting for the series the same month and admitted that she felt the jitters. Aside from DenJen, the series also stars Juancho Triviño, Joross Gamboa, Chanty Videla, Sam Pinto, and "Lumpia Queen" Abi Marquez, and more. 'Sanggang Dikit FR' premieres on June 23 at 8:50 p.m. on GMA Prime. —Carby Rose Basina/CDC, GMA Integrated News
